While some are accepting of their children's statuses, others are not.

Yeosang grew up in a pack where if you weren't an Alpha, you were looked down upon and were scum on earth. Omegas were treated horribly, male and female, especially when they were pregnant from rape gangs. Yeosang's family is a prime example of this. His mother was a weak Omega, always being beaten by his father and always receiving the wrong end of the stick.

Although she was kind, she knew what her future was going to be for her son, and tries to be the kindness and hope he needed. She was beaten to death right in front of him when he was eight. He tried to break out of his cage that he practically lived and grew in, to save her, but when his father saw him, he received a punishment as well.

He was beaten his whole life, but this was the worst he's ever been beaten. He lost sight in his left eye from the beatings, not permanently but temporarily and it made it hard for him to hunt. He became fearful of his life, his father always promising to kill him if he were to ever escape or if he were to ever speak a word of the abuse.

He wasn't alone, other children were beaten and abused throughout the pack if they weren't Alphas. Betas didn't receive the worst beatings like Omega children did. There were children dying every day from starvation and from the beatings, it became a usual sight for Yeosang. He never made friends, if he did they died or his father punished him. One boy caught his eye, and as they grew older they said few words to one another. Mostly because Yeosang feared talking and saying something, but San was receiving beatings and punishments much like he was. So, to communicate with one another, they wrote in the dirt of their cages and quickly erased them before someone seen. It was the most friendly encounter Yeosang had with the boy. His name was San.

One night, during the middle of a storm, San made a vast decision to attack the alpha beating him, to which he nearly kills him. He knew he was going to die if anyone found out, so he fled after being freed from his cage. He ran past Yeosang, who reaches for him and started begging with sobs of pain, still afraid to speak. San stops, looking at Yeosang and making the decision. He frees Yeosang, and after shifting to their wolf forms they run far away in the rain and mud.

They come across Hongjoong, Seonghwa, and Yunho after running for so long, seeking food and water, as well as a place to rest. Seonghwa, seeing their wounds and the conditions they were in, tended to them and Yeosang grew close to the Omega. He reminded him of his mother, and that sliver of kindness he had before she died.

So, needless to say the two Betas joined their small pack after Seonghwa convinces Hongjoong it was best for them. Yeosang may have been mute, and never spoke a single word to anyone, he still communicates to San as his line of communication. San told their stories, and Hongjoong immediately agrees to let them join his pack. The Alpha couldn't resist his Omega, and the Betas who were cuddled up to him for warmth that night.
