"Trust me, Hayley, the last thing I wanna do is get out of this bed," Beverly stated, hiding back under her blanket as she let out an annoyed huff, followed by Hayley jumping down on the bed.

"I know it's refreshing to know that Klaus finally fixed the air conditioning but you are athletic, don't you have a morning jog?"

The blonde peaked her head from under the covers to roll her eyes at Hayley, "Every time I step out of this room I feel like puking so morning jog will have to wait for later."

The werewolf rolled her eyes, pulling the covers off of her dramatic friend, "What about that other pageant? You didn't get to attend the last one because of me so I thought you would be leaping to attend and organize the next."

Beverly sat up and blinked before stating, "I called the head of the committee and canceled last minute, maybe Lauren Beaumont will try her outstandingly awful talents after all."

"You are not the kind to cancel on things..."

"I am now, or temporarily. Look, Hayley, having an arrow piercing through my leg, my beautiful precious leg, is not easy and I don't plan on just jumping up and going back to normal activities. I need time so please give me that."

She didn't wait for a reply before sinking back under her blanket with a long unsatisfied sigh. Hayley nodded, making her way to the door, "I will get you a sugarless Expresso if you heal up quick?" She suggested, smiling hopefully before she closed the door after her.

Beverly fluttered her eyes open, looking over at the rays of light peeking through light white see-through curtains. She was never the bravest of brave but she was not a coward. Not anymore.

Her hands shook, at this point her entire body could have been shaking and struggling to stay still as she unintentionally let a wracked sob, looking up at the officer who sat in front of her, "No, I didn't see anyone. Just my mother, dead..."

"Slaughtered in your bathroom, was it? A pool of her own blood?"

Please don't. Beverly just needed him to stop, she needed to get that moment out of her head but every time she closed her eyes or let the silence in, that was all she saw.

"Classic Cordelia," He chuckled, looking through some papers as the eleven-year-old looked up at him, a frown taking place on her face as she used her knuckles to rub the tears off her face, "You know I used to go to school with your mother...She was far from nice. Some could even say she had it coming."

"How can you say that?" Beverly cried out, staring at him like one does when faced with a mad man.

The officer, named Leonardo, looked up, a smile turning upon his face, "Is it not true? C'mon, even Jayden is relieved that she is gone."

The blonde child shook her head, speaking back to him with a slight stutter in her tone, "My mother was a great person...a..a..and you can't speak about her like that."

"Say what you want, kid, but you are better off."

Beverly's phone rang beside her, snapping her out of her daze before she picked it up, intentionally missing the caller's ID, "Skipping, really? Lauren is doing a terrible job here."

"Marcel, how did you get my number?" She asked, sitting up before she ran a hand through her hair, "I didn't leave it there so..."

"I have my ways."

The blonde scoffed, rolling her eyes, "Okay, that's creepy."

"You gave it to me, remember?"

"Oh, Right. I forgot."

"Whatever," She could quite literally hear him huff out before asking, "Where are you?"

Beverly contemplated answering, they weren't that close just because he fixed her car. However, she found herself leaning her head on the headboard, shrugging to herself, "Home, being miserable."

The line was dead for a while before he finally spoke up, "So you are free?"

She sucked in a deep breath, taking a look at the pile of homework and untouched assignments at the end of the room, "Nope, talk to you later."

Beverly awaited no reply before hanging up and placing her phone on the nightstand. She sighed, looking down at the covers before she shook her head and pulled them off, taking a look at her very much healed leg, "I can't let that make me crawl under a blanket..."

The blonde witch raised to her feet, carrying herself to the door before swinging it open, only to be met with Hayley Marshall, fully dressed with an expression that signaled no good, "Where are you going?"

"Out, I need you with me."

Beverly raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms, "Someone's getting bolder, you were about to die."

Hayley shrugged her shoulders, "But I didn't, so?"

"So, you want to give, whoever tried, another shot?" She assumed, scoffing out, "Well, good luck with that. I have already established my displeasure in risking my life for anyone that isn't me."

"Please? It's not even that risky. I just need Sophie to answer a few questions," Hayley sighed, rubbing the back of her neck, "And you scare witches so I thought, maybe, you could..."

Beverly controlled a smug smile from forming on her face as she rolled her eyes, "Well, now that you pointed it out...Maybe I could give interrogating this Sonya, a shot."

"Sophie."

"That's what I said."

"No, you- oh, okay. That's the part where you act like a total bitch."

"And this is the part where we move on with the day."

"Shut up, please."

Sophie was in the cemetery, packing various bottles of magical ingredients into her backpack when Hayley and Beverly walked into the mausoleum, "Hey. What the hell?"

"For a kidnapping witch...," Beverly approached her with steady steps, commenting, "You are quite jumpy."

"We are going with you," Hayley stated, crossing her arms over her chest from where she stood behind the blonde witch.

Sophie shook her head, "No, thanks. Already got assaulted by Klaus this morning," She pulled her bag behind her back, finishing, "Don't need a repeat."

Beverly shrugged, pursing her lips, "Listen, Sonya, I am in a really bad mood and Hayley is pushy for those answers about her family, yeah?" She patted the brunette witch's shoulders, finishing, "Make it easier for the three of us and don't push me, okay? Plus we have already established that whatever killed your witches hates you and likes Hales."

"Sorry if I'm not buying your sudden concern for my safety," Sophie said, shaking her head as she added, "And it's Sophie."

Beverly rolled her eyes with a huff leaving her pink lips as Sophie attempted to leave with Hayley blocking her exit, "Listen. The whole reason I came to this stupid town in the first place was to learn more about my family. Your sister's the one that told me Marcel ran the werewolves out of the Quarter into the Bayou."

Hayley sucked in a deep breath, adding, "And last night, I'm pretty sure that some guardian-angel-wolf saved my life. So, we are coming with you."

Sophie didn't get to respond to that as Rebekah walked in, rolling her eyes, "Could you three be more idiotic?"

Beverly exhaled with an exhausted shrug as Hayley and Sophie both looked at each other and sighed in frustration, "Two can play the follow-game, you know! You heard Klaus, he and Marcel are headed right where you're going."

"So distract them," The brunette pregnant werewolf shrugged her shoulders, "Because unless you wanna lock a hormonal, pregnant werewolf in a tomb or force a siphoning witch inside-"

Beverly interjected, raising her hand up like some student in a class full of uncultured young children, "Actually, I would like to go home willingly. None of this was my idea."

Hayley turned to her friend, mouthing traitor. Beverly was unamused as the brunette turned to Rebekah, "Wouldn't Elijah be mad if he hears that the baby and I died of asphyxiation?"

Rebekah stared at her, clearly annoyed by her stubbornness before exchanging a look with Beverly who shook her head, stepping back, "Don't drag me into this."

Despite Beverly's hopes for Rebekah to drag her and Hayley back home, they followed Sophie into the Bayou, looking for the dead witches before the blonde Original questioned, "So, this Harvest thingy- tell me more."

"Klaus said to wait."

Beverly rolled her eyes, snarking out, "I am sure he said plenty of other things that you couldn't manage doing correctly."

"We're here," Hayley spoke up as they had reached the place where the witches were killed. Their bodies were all bloodied and ripped apart, and a dismembered head lied near the bodies.

The blonde witch placed a hand over her stomach, turning the other way, "I think I might pass out."

Rebekah patted her back, commenting, "Please don't. Twice in a row, you are not that heavy but don't."

Beverly managed to let a chuckle escape her mouth even though she was too sick to talk as she shook her head at the Original vampire.

"Whoa...," Hayley gasped softly, stepping back when she is met with a huge paw-print in the mud. In a nearby tree, there were three bloody scratches in the bark.

"Definitely sick."

"Is that a wolf track?"

They heard the sound of crunching footsteps nearby before Rebekah called out, stepping protectively in front of Hayley and Beverly, "Who's there?"

The person approaching them was a male vampire, Marcel's informant, who looked freaked out as he identified, "What the hell? An Original?" He took a look at the blonde, taking a few breaths by a tree, "Beverly Hills?"

"What the hell...How do you...?" Beverly looked up, attempting to ask before he vamp-sped away too quickly for her to even realize what he looked like.

Rebekah frowned, "How did he know about you?"

"No idea."

Taking the tip from Rebekah, and using her as a distraction, Klaus walked out of Big Auggie's bar, spotting Tomas, who had just returned from the Bayou, "Tomas, I presume? Marcel asked me to find out what you know about the dead witches."

Tomas revealed, "I heard they were going after some pregnant werewolf. She was stupid, being out there all alone," He chuckled, shaking his head as Klaus nodded along, "And that girl Marcel was seeing? The one that runs parties? She was there, too. He would love to know about that."

Klaus chuckled fakely, nodding, "Yeah, he would. Wouldn't he?" He smiled before snapping the vampire's neck.

It was night now, and Hayley, Beverly, and Sophie were returning to Sophie's truck as the blonde witch scrolled through her notifications, finding one from Kristal. She frowned, reading with her eyes, Hi, Bevs. Miss you lots. We all do, call me ASAP. NEED TO TALK.

She shrugged her shoulders, slowing her steps to walk after Sophie and Hayley as she dialed Kristal's number. After a couple of rings, the redhead's loud pitched voice greeted, "Oh, my God! I missed you, Queen! You just forgot about us after moving to New Jersey or what?"

New Orleans, Beverly mentally corrected. She rolled her eyes, concluding that Kristal Lann was drunk to the max with a tone like that, "Hey, Kris...should I call you when you are sober? I think-"

She cut herself off, eternally gagging when she heard pumping noises from the other line, "No, no, wait!" Kristal spoke up before lowering her voice, "Dan, could you just?... Yeah, thank you. I love you!"

Beverly crossed her arms together, tightening her cardigan around herself as the wind picked up, "As I was saying...I...totally miss you and this other day I was talking with the girls about visiting you in New...whatever and Chelly said you are probably shagging some poor soul there and making him your sugar daddy but-"

"You do know that I don't care about any word that comes out of you and Chelly's mouths, right?" She interjected, raising her eyebrows as Kristal stuttered to reorganize her words.

"The point is-"

"Kristal, sweetie, I would really love it if you and the...girls just forgot I exist for the next few years," Beverly offered, sighing as a small smile turned up on her face, "I know it's hard to forget a face and body like mine but try."

Kristal huffed out from the other line, "Just because we slept together a few times you don't have the liberty of using that line."

"I do, very much. Bye, hun."

Rebekah poured several drinks as she talked to Hayley and Beverly, who sat a few meters away, typing quickly on her laptop, "I don't care if we have to get you a leash, that was your last trip to the Bayou."

"What is it with you and those wolves, anyway?"

Hayley sighed, answering, "I feel like we're connected somehow. I don't know. Maybe it's just some pipe dream that I have of finding any real family out there," She shrugged her shoulders, "But sometimes, when I feel like it's me against the world, it keeps me going."

Beverly spoke up from her place, downing a glass of orange juice, "You didn't ask me but family is the most pointless thing in the world," She pressed enter on her keyboard before turning to the two supernaturals at the end of the room, "It's the sick part of the society, roots grounding you from reaching your full potential and I am incredibly glad that I don't have any."

"That's...specific but oddly true," Rebekah had a sympathetic look on her face as she agreed, walking over to hand Beverly her drink.

The blonde shrugged her shoulders, "I don't drink."

"You are gonna need one of these around here," Rebekah claimed, downing the glass of bourbon in one gulp, "Keeps you sane."

"My sane is sober."

Hayley smiled, rolling her eyes. The moment was interrupted by Klaus walking through the front door, "Nik, finally! What-" She is relieved, pausing in her steps when Elijah walked through the door after his brother with a huge smile.

Rebekah ran to her brother and hugged him tight as Beverly wriggled her eyebrows, pursing her lips in a straight line. Not that affected by the reunion before rising to her feet as Hayley made her way out of the room.

"Let me just rub it in your face that I have never been more in danger than I have been here, all thanks to you and your family," Beverly walked up to Elijah, carefully pulling Rebekah away from his arms, "And your promises of me being safe were dumbed into the thickest river as soon as he," She paused, pointing to Klaus, "Stabbed you, in the front."

Elijah furrowed his eyebrows, trying to form the words as she surprised him, patting his shoulders, "But it's been fun!" He raised an eyebrow, "Welcome back, my advice for the first thing to do? Kill your brother, he deserves it."
