Jimin; a person who didn't usually rack his brain for anything unless it was related to his team, was having trouble falling asleep. It was technically related to his team, but it was too trivial for any kind of trouble. Yet there he was, lying awake on his bed, with a stoic expression. He couldn't come to a conclusion, no matter how many times he tried.
Maybe she messed up her dialect for some reason, he told himself. Even I can't forget my Busan dialect after 8 years, it's impossible for her to forget it in just 4 years. Dang, the internet was right about the-smallest-things-prick-the-most.
He got up, searched for sleeping pills, took one, and forced himself senseless. He knew he couldn't just pull an all-nighter to figure out why some random girl's accent changed— not when he needed to wake up the next morning at 5 on the dot.
With Jimin asleep, the whole luxurious apartment had been engulfed with pin-drop silence. It was a brilliant cloudless night, with the crescent moon on full display. The distinctive sound of car horns, soft whirring sound of the wind, raw light from the moon and stars; it was a perfect atmosphere for a night of deep sleep. Being in the middle of a forest with no other buildings nearby indeed made an excellent private place, but it was also an amazing place for relaxing.
Similarly, the mornings were beautiful too. One couldn't see the sunrise fully like at the beach, but it was equally eye-catching as those. A small warm circle rising amidst a cluster of greenery with herds of birds chirping and spreading their wings in the orange sky— it was ethereal to human eyes. As if time was in a rush, the crack of dawn came earlier than expected.
7 pairs of eyes gathered at the living room sofa, hovering above the individual who was in a deep sleep. They communicated through hand gestures and eye movements— all asking the same question.
Who was going to wake Ashlyn up?
They communicated with their eyes, with a few low murmurs. Thankfully, Ash woke up by the sound. Although the situation wasn't exactly pleasant; 7 young men staring at a sleeping girl, whose clothes were, well, not in good shape. She sat up hastily, covering her body with the blanket given by Namjoon.
"What?"
"Uhm," Hoseok started. "You see, you were asleep,"
"And?"
"We need to go back." He nodded slowly.
"What?"
"We don't live here, we live on Jeju island. We came here for the test, can't you tell? God, what a dimwit." Seokjin uttered the last part silently. Ashlyn groaned and stood up.
"When do we leave?"
"Now."

A pair of black vans started off on the Seoul roads, picking their speed up as the road was empty. Most of the passengers were dozing off, some even snoring. As much as Aslyn wanted to sleep, she couldn't. She had always been more of a homebody rather than an outgoing person. Trapped between four walls, practising, studying, eating. The thought of wandering out for some fresh air never occurred to her. She lived her life like a boring office worker— except she was working inside her small, 3 room apartment. Without shopping and going out to Ji-Sang's house, she never really left her house. This was a completely new experience for her, a completely new life.
She gazed outside with curious eyes, looking at the trees speeding past her, occasional birds chirping, and some cars here and there. Dawn in Seoul city was truly captivating. Ash knew Seoul as a busy city, full of street lights, traffics, car honkings. But a city also sleeps and wakes up. A silent Seoul decorated with artificial lights and the rising orange sun— it was new to her. She kept on watching with awe, oblivious to the fact that Jimin was watching her.
It's just roads,— he thought. Why does she look like she's enjoying this? Is it because she hasn't been in Korea in long? Weird.
Eventually, they finished their long car ride. When they arrived in Jeju island, it was around 1 PM. They got out of the van, groaning and stretching themselves— thankful to be able to get out of that cramped place.
"I think I dislocated my neck," Yoongi complained.
"Bro' I can't even move my arm, Jungkook is heavy. Boy slept on my shoulder the whole ride." Taehyung exhibited his limp arm.
"'aight who pissed?" Seokjin dusted his hands.
"Not me," Namjoon stated.
"Not me either," Yoongi spoke.
"Hyung, that's called sweat. Not pee." Hoseok smiled sarcastically.
"Ew, take a shower, you stink!" Seokjin blocked his nose and made a face at Hoseok.
Ashlyn walked around, not far away from the group. She noticed a sign saying, 'Gotjawal Forest, Halla Mountain, Jeju.'
"That's the largest forest in South Korea," Jimin spoke beside her. "Figured you may not know it as you didn't live here long."
"Then there's a lot for you to explore, Ruan-ssi." Namjoon chimed in. "Jeju itself is a big place."
"Would you be my tour guide?" Ash smirked.
"As you wish, young lady." Namjoon played along.
The team walked into the forest, Ash getting lost by the thick woods. Namjoon put her back on track, as they soon arrived in front of a beautiful modern house. A house wouldn't do justice to it, it was a mansion.
It was the permanent residence of team Bulletproof. Ashlyn's jaw dropped as she tried to process the fact, that this majestic mansion, was in the middle of nowhere. This was a masterpiece that should be put in the museum, but it was completely hidden from the human eye. At right, there was a building, two actually. It was as if only the house was secluded away from those. It was the main headquarters of B.C. One building being the offices, the others being for training and such. All orders were given from this secluded part of B.C., all the other branches were just for show. Ashlyn almost felt traumatised by this. Looking at the house in front of her, she finally understood who team Bulletproof was, and what their worth was. She could get every piece of information she needs from here.
All she needed was to be extra careful. Her life was on the line.
