ONE YEAR LATER

This is going to be major fluff and very very very cheesy. Just a warning  

As Zara was continuing to recover from her bullet wound, Bucky was right there by her side. When she was released from the infirmary, she needed someone to watch over her progress and help her with some of the tasks she couldn't yet do alone. Bucky came up with the idea of her staying with him, in his room. So she moved into his room and they were officially together, helping each other through the nightmares they both have and anything else they needed. 

In one month Zara would officially join the Avengers again and start training with them. 

Pietro and Wanda were getting along with the team much better, in fact Vision and Wanda were getting very close, much to Pietro's dismay. Pietro was getting close to Clint actually, they sat down and talk about what their issues were and Clint had understood why he did what he did. 

Steve, Natasha, and Bucky were training the new recruits for the Avengers. Natasha was looking for Bruce any chance she got. Steve was focused on the team more than ever, which is probably because he saw how happy Bucky and Zara were and he missed Peggy. Bucky and Steve talked about it and Steve told Bucky to not worry about it, he just needed to get used to being around a couple. 

One day Zara was sitting on the couch, relaxing after yet another session of physical therapy. She could not wait till she didn't have to do that anymore. 

"Zara, Bucky would like to see you in the training facility." FRIDAY said over the speakers in the room. She smiled a little as she got up and started the walk Bucky. 

"You okay Bucky?" Wanda asked as she walked into the training facility. 

"What? Yeah, I'm okay Wanda. What are you doing here?" He asked and looked around as the rest of the team filtered into the room. 

"We heard what you're going to do and we wanted to be apart of it." Tony said as he nodded at Steve. "His idea." Tony added. 

Steve shrugged and smiled at his best friend. "She's clearly ready and you can't wait till she's officially part of the team." Steve said and Bucky laughed. 

"That's not exactly what I'm doing here Captain." Bucky said causing Wanda to squeal with delight and almost tackle Bucky. 

"That is amazing!" She said as everyone started to cheer. 

Steve took a second before he understood what was happening and waiting for his chance to hug Bucky. "Good choice Buck." Steve said as Zara walked into the room. 

"What exactly is going on right now?" Zara asked when she saw everyone cheering. 

The room suddenly went quiet when Bucky turned around and smiled at Zara. "Well there's two things I have to tell you. First, you need to come here and give me a hug." He said and Zara gave him a weird look as she walked over to him and gave him a quick hug, eager to understand what was going on. 

"Okay, I gave you a hug. So what's up Buck?" She asked as she looked at the rest of the team confused. 

"Well first, the doctors have given me some good news. You have been working extremely hard to get back into shape so you can join the team again. Well after your physical therapy session today your doctor told me that you are good to go. You can officially join the Avengers again!" Bucky exclaimed causing Zara's mouth to drop open and a smile to spread across her face. 

"Oh my god! I'm so excited! That's amazing!" She screamed as she almost jumped on Bucky to give him another hug. He stumbled back a little bit and laughed. The rest of the team cheered and they took turns hugging Zara, even Tony. 

"Oh and there's one more thing Zara." Bucky said as he dragged her over to him. She was still smiling but couldn't wait to hear what else Bucky had to tell her. 

The energy in the room had changed from excitement to anticipation as everyone waited to hear what Bucky had to say. 

"So I know we've only known each other for a year, but I know both of us have felt a connection whether we acknowledged it in the beginning or not. It only took you to get shot for us to acknowledge our feelings, which I was so happy to do. Now with all of the progress that you've been going through, I am so incredibly proud of you. Now that you're apart of the team again, I know you can only get so much more happier than you already are, but I have one more question to ask you." Bucky said, the anticipation building with every word. 

Once Bucky had finished speaking, Zara's eyes were already filled with tears, and the smile on her face had somehow grown even bigger. He knelt down and opened a small box that he took out of his pocket. 

"Marry me?" He asked and everyone held their breath as Zara caught her breath to answer. 

"Of course." She whispered as she nodded. 

Everyone screamed in delight as Bucky stood up and slid the ring onto her finger before kissing her. 

Wanda was the first one to tear Zara and Bucky apart to hug one of them. The twins hugged Zara as she cried tears of joy, talking about how much fun and how excited they were for her and Bucky. 

Steve and Tony were the first ones to hug or "bro" hug Bucky. He was smiling as big as he could, and his heart was as full as it ever has been. 

"Well it sounds like you two have some things to celebrate." Tony said and winked at Bucky. 

"Actually I was going to suggest Zara and I make dinner together for everyone to thank all of you for your support." Bucky suggest and Zara nodded a little. 

"Food that I don't have to make, go for it!" Tony said as he smiled at them one last time before walking out of the room. 

Slowly but surely they filtered out of the room until it was the twins, Zara, and Bucky. 

"Sorry you two but I'm going to steal my...fiancé." Bucky said causing Zara to smile and hug the twins once more before turning to Bucky. 

Zara laced her arms around the back of Bucky's neck as he wrapped his arms around her waist. "So, how long have you been waiting to do that?" She asked and he smiled at her. 

"Honestly I had the idea last month when the doctors told me you would be ready in a month. I told you two months so I could surprise you." He responded and kissed her forehead. 

"You tricky little Sargent." Zara smiled causing Bucky to laugh. 

For once, everything was happy and everyone was content with their life. If only they knew the fights that were coming their way.

So that is officially the end of Project Z. I know that it was super cheesy and everything but it's incredibly fluffy.
