They were finally unloading everyone who wasn't injured back onto the ground after five days after the event that Ultron had caused. 

The team was currently helping everyone back to their home and if their home was destroyed they were redirected towards any homeless shelter while their homes were being rebuilt. 

Zara was still in the infirmary being watched closely by a group of doctors. 

Bucky had been trying to keep himself distracted with anything that he could do. He was currently helping a group of families whose houses got destroyed find the closest homeless shelter. 

"Buck, you should get back to the helicarrier, the doctors have news on Zara." Steve said over the comms as Bucky found the homeless shelter. 

"I'm helping families, what's going on?" Bucky asked as he felt his heartbeat get heavier in his chest.

"Just get back to the helicarrier when you can." Tony said as he passed Bucky with another group of families. 

Bucky wasn't sure if he wanted to know or didn't, so he collected another group of families to guide them to their home. Their home had luckily stayed intact through the attack. He distracted himself with group after group before Steve finally found him and practically dragged him back to the helicarrier. 

"Stop ignoring the problem and go find out how she's doing." Steve said as he pushed Bucky towards the infirmary. 

Bucky swore under his breath as he walked as slowly as he could. He could feel his heartbeat throughout his entire body and he felt like he was going to be sick. 

As he walked into the infirmary he didn't see Zara, which made his heart drop and his eyes immediately welled with tears. 

"Bucky, Zara is this way." A doctor said making Bucky's breath return to his lungs as he followed the doctor. 

As he walked through the door he saw Zara laying in a hospital bed, hooked up to a bunch of machines, but her heartbeat was constant and a smile spread across his face. 

"She is stable, sleeping, but stable. She's going to need a lot of rest and time to heal, then she's going to have to be evaluated when she wants to either go back to the field or go back home, wherever she calls home. 

Bucky nodded as he sat down in a chair next to her bed as the doctor explained the extent of her injury and how long her estimated recovery would be. After the doctor explained all of that, he left Bucky to wait for her to wake up. He knew she could sleep for awhile, but she had to wake up at some point, so he stayed. 

After seven hours Zara finally began to stir. Bucky's head was starting to bob as he was starting to fall asleep. First her head rolled to the other side as her hands clenched and unclenched. She groaned as her eyes fluttered open. 

Bucky's eyes opened as he sat up to look at her. "Z?" He asked as she looked in his direction and smiled a little. 

"Hey Buck." She whispered as she reached for him. "How long have I been out?" She asked as she sat up slowly, causing her to wince a little. Her voice sounded groggy and she didn't sound like herself.

"Woah there, don't move too much. You've been out for a week." He said as he stood up and she nodded a little. "We just moved everyone who wasn't injured back to the ground." He added. 

"So I'm going to live?" Zara asked as she felt the gauze wrapped around her abdomen. Bucky laughed a little as he nodded. "How long do I have to stay in this bed?" She asked as she bit her lip, dreading the answer. 

"Three months, and the physical therapy will be for a year." Bucky said causing Zara to groan and run a hand through her hair. "I know you're not happy about that but it's for the best and to be safe." He added and she nodded a little before looking at him. "So are we going to talk about what happened before you had to do the heroic thing that you did causing you to get shot and almost die?" He asked and she looked down at her hands, smiling gently. 

"I mean, it was a kiss. I thought I was going to die." Zara whispered, still looking at her hands. 

Bucky smiled a little and gently lifted her chin with his finger. "I didn't say I didn't enjoy it. It was a great kiss." He said as they just looked at each other. 

Zara smiled at him as Bucky brought their lips together. Bucky put his right hand on her cheek, pulling her as close as he could without hurting her. 

As they were kissing, the there were two sets of footsteps running towards the room, which they didn't hear. All of a sudden the door slams open and the twins stumble in, causing Zara and Bucky to separate and Zara's face to turn as red as a strawberry. 

"Z!" They both exclaimed as they ran over, basically pushed Bucky out of the way, and hugged her. 

"Be gentle! I woke up less than half an hour ago and I'm still very sensitive!" Zara laughed as they loosened their grips but didn't let go of her. "Oh, and we were kind of in the middle of something." She added as they pulled away and sat on each side of her bed. 

"Don't worry Zara, I have to go update the rest of the team on your condition." Bucky said smiling at her. Zara smiled a little at him before turning to the twins, talking to them in rapid Sokovian. 

Bucky walked out of the room and basically ran to the gym, knowing it was the time Steve would be in the gym. He ran into the gym and found Steve rather easily. "Steve!" He called, causing him to look in his direction. 

"How is she?" Steve asked as Bucky ran over to him. 

"She's awake, and is going to be okay!" Bucky beamed and Steve smiled as he hugged his best friend. 

"I'm so happy for you, now why aren't you with her? The twins hear she's okay?" Steve asked as they pulled away. 

"Yeah, they came sliding into the room while we were kissing." Bucky explained and Steve laughed at the story. 

Bucky was almost jumping with joy and Steve just smiled at him, he had never seem him that happy. 

"You really like her don't you?" Steve asked and Bucky nodded a little. 

"Of course I do, somehow she means everything to me." Bucky responded and Steve nodded. 

"Then go spend time with her, she almost died and when we get back to the compound we have a lot of work to do. We have to train the newbies, including the twins." Steve said and Bucky nodded a little as he hugged Steve once more before walking out and back to the infirmary. 

Once Bucky walked back into the room Zara was in, she was alone. 

"I convinced them I was tired somehow." She laughed when she saw him walk back in. Bucky laughed a little as he sat on the side of her bed and looked at her. He didn't say anything but laced his metal hand with one of her hands. "Buck, what's going on?" She asked as she squeezed his hand, knowing he couldn't feel it. 

"Nothing, I'm just really glad you're alive." Bucky whispered looking at her. 

"So am I." Zara whispered as she pulled him close by his shirt collar and kissed him.
