Being taken from her home hurt; she missed her ex-fiancé and felt a great sense of nostalgia whenever she thought about it. But she slowly adjusted to her new lifestyle and grew to love it quickly.

This time was different. She wouldn't be able to adjust again – not without Xander.

His arms were wrapped around her waist, holding her tightly – as if she'd disappear from his side. And she was. This would be the last time he'd be able to see her. He had to make the best of it; he had to see her face brighten up with the beautiful smile he had grown accustomed to one last time.

"Alexa," He spoke quietly, still holding her to him, but began rubbing his hands up and down her back, "we-"

"It's not fair," she whispered, her voice barely audible as it was a muffle against his chest, "what they're doing isn't fair. They sent me here without my consent and now that I like it they want to take me back. It's not fair, Xander; it's unconstitutional."

He opened his mouth to speak, but she kept going, her voice breaking with tears.

"Freedom is one of my rights and my freedom is here with you and-" She hiccupped, stepping back to look up at him through blurry eyes, "I am begging you, Xander, don't leave me. I don't think," She sobbed, "I don't think I can go back to how I was before you."

"Mielle," He cleared his throat, taking a deep breath before he said, "freedom in your planet comes at a price."

"What about the blood?" She whispered, looking down at her wrist, where the bracelet shone from the light reflecting off it. "What will happen to me once the 100 doses are over? Am I just going to die?"

Xander shook his head, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead and said, "You will not; your body should be accustomed to it before the doses finish."

"But, what if it-"

"Alexa," he sighed, "we cannot focus on the 'what ifs' right now. There are too many; we have to follow the security our science has provided. And according to this science, you will be able to survive; your body will have adjusted."

She nodded, biting her bottom lip to keep from sparking an argument and entwined her fingers with his. Xander breathed in heavily, hugging her tightly and ordered her to close her eyes. After they appeared in the beach, he stepped back to look at her and she felt her bottom lip trembling.

It was taking all of her to not drop to her knees and beg him. The only reason she wasn't doing it was because she knew it wouldn't change anything; he'd still have to go to Xrion and she'd be stuck in Earth.

"I don't understand why they're forcing you to leave," Alexa gritted her teeth, wiping her tears angrily; "you've done nothing wrong! Your people have cleared our pollution levels; you've fixed our ozone layer! And you've treated us better than our men; why are they forcing you to leave?!"

Xander shrugged, tucking back a strand of her blonde hair that was flying around her face whenever the wind blew harshly. "I do not know; my guess is that they feel too threatened by our presence. Our technology is not something they can comprehend; we have abilities that your people have yet to evolve into. I have noticed that humans do not like being inferior to others. Your people have forced themselves to be at the top of the food chain, now that they are no longer the superior race, they must hate it."

Alexa nodded. It made sense; some humans were stupid.

She looked around, watching as the other females held unto their partners for dear life. Some were holding unto their knees, begging with all their might to not be taken. The Xrions seemed to be affected, but not as much as they were.

As she observed the chaotic scene of weeping females, Xander watched her. His eyes were intently observing every moved she made; even the amount of times she blinked. He wanted her engraved in his memory because a hologram would not be enough.

"Xander," she whispered, turning to look at him as she leaned her head against his broad chest, "I'm scared."

He frowned, looking down at her. "Why?"

"There has to be a reason for the president to want the women. What if he just wants us because he knows we'll get pregnant? They'll probably use us as lab rats – oh my god! They probably will-"

He shook his head, pressing his finger against her lips to quiet her down. "The General already thought of that. Your President was angered because we told him that no females were impregnated yet. They do not know about the blood injections either; we know how selfish your race can be so we kept out important details like these."

Alexa nodded, feeling a bit more relieved, but the panic was still tugging at the back of her mind. "What if they torture us to get information about you?"

His gaze hardened, but he shook his head again. "There are too many of you to torture; your government would have to wipe all of you out."

"And they'll probably blame it on you guys," Her voice cracked at the end with fear.

Xander took a deep breath, running his fingers through his hair and slid his hand in his pocket. His fingers closed around a cool small pendant and he smiled down at her as he motioned for her to open hold her hand out. "I was going to give you this as an accessory that our warriors wore, it was supposed to be just a gift, but I guess you must use it now."

Alexa raised an eyebrow, glancing down at the silver X. "What is it?"

He raised the collar of her shirt and hid it under it, right on her shoulder. He fixed her collar and said, "It is a device known as a tacto. Our warriors use it when we enter unchartered territory; we can track down the warrior or use it as a technical device. In your planet it is kind of like a tracking device, however ours has other functions."

"Like?"

His face relaxed into a lopsided smile and she felt her heart fluttering in her chest. "It can interfere with your technology and it would notify me if you were to be in any harm."

"How?" She frowned.

"It picks up your stress signals. When you are afraid of something, your brain releases certain chemicals and brainwaves; the chip picks up on them and notifies us. Now that you will be miles away from me, I need you to keep it. When you board the ship, I will turn it on so that when you are speaking to the women they can't hear it through devices. You must be careful when you are speaking of the pregnancies and such because this only will keep the frequencies covered; if they are near, they can hear you."

She nodded, hugging him again. She closed her eyes, listening to his heart beating along with the waves crashing against the shore gently. If she hadn't been forced to say goodbye to him, the day would've been beautiful.

They could go to the beach again and take pictures of each other and try to build a caste for the sand people. But she was leaving and she would never see him again.

"Alexa," he spoke softly, "they are here; you must go."

Alexa gritted her teeth tightly and sniffled to keep from crying. He kissed her gently and forced out a smile. It didn't reach his eyes like they always did, but at least he was trying. His eyes were clouded with sadness and she felt angry that her race was so stupid. "Non per si viti."

The next events were a bit blurred by how fast they happened. One minute she was hugging Xander and the next she was walking in a file-line towards small boats. A couple of feet back was an enormous boat that almost looked like a cruise ship – except for the guards standing on the deck with guns.

They were forced on the small boats; around ten women per boat. Most of them wept loudly and cursed out the guards that were handing them life vests. Alexa glanced down at hers and rolled her eyes as she placed it on her lap when she sat down.

As they made their way back towards the ship, she stared at Xander with watery eyes. It was taking all of her not to pull a Rose move and jump off the boat. He smiled at her and waved his hand slowly.

Her bottom lip began to tremble as his face became blurrier with distance and she felt a small tear rolling down her cheek. She purposely tuned everything to focus on Xander and be able to keep him in her mind.

Whatever the government decided to do to her, they would never be able to erase him from her mind. He was engraved in her mind and heart; as cheesy as it sounded.

When they reached the boat, they told them to climb the ladder on the side and stay on the deck until further instructions. There were around fifteen armed men on the deck with black anti-toxic-like masks covering their faces.

They seemed to be treating the women like animals, pushing them to stand close to each other and away from the ladder, but they seemed to forget that the deck wasn't very high off the sea. It was around fifteen feet and the women were desperate to return to what they considered their homes.

Alexa widened her eyes, looking as Kelly climbed on the bow of the boat. Guards quickly tried to run over to her, but she kicked her leg over the security bars and jumped off. The loud splash startled the other women on board and it seemed to cause a domino effect.

Soon enough, there were other women running towards the front and climbing over the security bars; Alexa wasn't going to stay behind.

The guards began shouting orders and yanking the women back, luckily she was one of the few that got to jump off in time. As soon as her legs came into contact with the cold water, she hissed in a breath and chanted in her mind the reason why she had recklessly jumped off board.

Xander.

Darkness quickly consumed her and she quickly pushed the water underneath her to reach the surface and then gasped quickly before swimming away from the boat. They hadn't moved much, maybe a couple of feet from their previous stationary position, which didn't really make the swim any easier, but she still did it.

There were around twenty women swimming towards the shore, their arms were violently slapping down on the water as they swam as fast as they could towards their safety.

As the realisation that she would see Xander again and hopefully convince him that the best place for her to be would be by his side, she swam faster, ignoring the burning feeling spreading through her shoulder blades and arms.

Sea water entered her mouth when she gasped for air and she quickly spluttered it out once her toes began to feel the sand underneath. Alexa watched as Kelly ran towards Chandler, jumping in his arms and sobbing incomprehensible words.

The rest of the women ran around, looking for their partners in desperation and cried out in a mixture of triumph and heartache. This was her last resort; she was desperate. If they could only see how amazing the Xrions had been, they might allow her to stay with them.

But after a couple of minutes of calling out Xander's name as if her life depended on it, she came up empty handed. He wasn't present in the multitude of men watching their partners being shipped off.

"Where is he?!" Alexa walked up to a Xrion she recognised from training; he was Xander's second.

He frowned, glancing down at her chest uncomfortably and muttered, "He left to his home; he wishes not to be disturbed."

"To hell with that!" She hissed, crossing her arms over her chest once she began to feel the cool wind against her wet body. "Take me to him."

"Ms.-"

Her glare intensified and he nodded once, holding his hand out for her to take it. After he teleported them to her old home, he bowed his head in respect and zapped himself back out. Alexa looked around the living room; "Xander?" then began to walk towards his room.

It was empty. She gritted her teeth, ready to scream out into the world when she decided to check her old room. He was sitting on her bed with his elbows on his knees, holding his head in a defeated position.

"Xander?"

His head snapped up from the camera and he sighed, his eyes softening once they landed on her, "Alexa, what are you doing here? You are supposed to be-"

The pictures they had taken at the beach were the meaning of perfection in his eyes. Her eyes were shining brightly in all of them; they were full of love. He was amazed at how the contraption was able to capture such beauty.

The photograph he had been looking at was taken under a palm tree. Alexa referred to it as a "selfie" and although he didn't understand it, he smiled next to her. She had kissed his cheek and continued snapping pictures until he turned his head to kiss her and the pictures were left forgotten as they made love on the picnic cloth.

Nevertheless, those pictures would be the only thing he would be able to keep from them. He had to be certain it would be sufficient to strengthen him in order to return to Xrion.

"I can't!" She ran towards him, wrapping her arms around him tightly. "Kelly jumped overboard and then all these women did the same and I just – I couldn't stay behind knowing that I could see you one last time."

"Please," He whispered, his voice no longer holding the strength it did when they first departed, "it is taking all of me not to keep you from going back home."

"Then don't!" She placed her wet hands on his cheeks, her eyes desperately looking into his, "Keep me with you and say I'm a prisoner or something! That I committed a crime and I wasn't allowed to stay in Earth!"

Xander closed his eyes, feeling too vulnerable to glance at them. "Alexandra, it is not that I do not want to take you with me, it is that I do not know if you will survive the voyage. I cannot lose you to something like that, you are asking me to put you in a precarious situation."

She narrowed her eyes, blowing back a wet drop that was running over her mouth. "You're sending me back to my old life; it was shïttier than a baby's diaper and the government is probably going to fück my life-"

He grabbed her, placing his left hand on the nape of her neck and kissed her deeply. Her entire demeanour quickly changed; her shoulders relaxed and she breathed out slowly. Alexa wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing him as if her life depended on the exchange of wordless proclamations of love and tried to engrave every second of it into her memory.

"Listen to me," he whispered after gently pulling away from her. He rubbed his thumb against her red bottom lip and said, "You have to tell your women to not say a word about the pregnancies. Most of them lost their children to miscarriages; their bodies felt too estranged by the hormones they were experiencing so they resulted in the loss of the children. This does not prevent them from having children in the future, so they need not worry. However, others are pregnant, Alexa you must keep those females safe, tell all of them to keep silence on the blood transfusions or their pregnancies otherwise they will become experiments."

Her eyes widened significantly and she whispered, "How the hell am I supposed to do that!?"

"Just tell them not to speak of the things that occurred here. Culturally wise they may say whatever they wish, but pertaining to the medical check-ups and such, they must not."

"Xander," she whispered, shivering a bit as her brain slowly recognised the cool gushes of air from the AC, "I don't think I can do this; I'm scared."

"Do not be," he whispered in return, wrapping his arms around her and she hummed once his warmth began to envelop her, "I am here with you."

She shook her head, gritting her teeth to stop them from chattering and said, "You won't be with me by the end of the night. I just," Another sob began to grow deep in her chest, threatening to explode in her like an atomic bomb and she glanced up at him with quivering lips, "I honestly can't do this."

Xander placed his thumb on her chin, lightly tilting it up so that he could stare down in her eyes. "Yes you can, mielle, you did it before I was here, you can do it once I leave."

"It's not the same!" She hissed, glaring at him, but didn't move. She was angry that he didn't understand what she was feeling, but her want to be with him overpowered any other emotion. "It's like giving me a little taste of life and then asking me to throw it away; I can't do it! I am so used to being with you that now that you want to leave I know I'll feel empty."

He hugged her tightly, kissing the top of her forehead and whispered, "Alexa, we have to go."

She crossed her arms over her chest, pouting her lips like an unhappy child.

He sighed, walking over to grab his sweater from her bed. He threw it over her wet shoulders and then tucked her blonde hair behind her ears. "I promise to privately visit you before our departure from Earth; wherever you go, I will find you, alright?"

"Xander," she bit her bottom lip hard enough to turn it a dark red, "I...do you promise?"

Xander nodded, kissing her lips quickly and said, "I promise not to leave Earth without seeing you first; I do not think I will be able to go without making sure that you are well."

"Okay," she whispered, allowing him to pull her into his warm chest.

He suddenly chuckled quietly. "You jumped into the water?"

Alexa blushed, but smiled and nodded up at him. "You jump, I jump, right?"

He raised an eyebrow, a small smile growing on the corners of his lips. "Did you just quote that movie?"

She grinned. "I did."

Xander shook his head, chuckling and kissed her forehead. "Come on, mielle. I will take you back to the ship."

Alexa nodded, wrapping her arms around his waist and closed her eyes as she hid her face against his chest. As soon as she had been out of the water, she felt cold, but as soon as he hugged her, she felt warm; protected and cared for.

Before returning her to the ship, Xander held her in his arms for a while longer until he felt he was ready to force her away. He would never be ready to willingly return her. Nonetheless, he would do anything in his power to keep her safe; even if he had to make sacrifices.

The silver light that shone whenever they were travelling somewhere illuminated the dark room and she turned her head to hide her face in the curvature of his neck.

Once they appeared on the deck of the boat, four guards held their guns up, pointing them at Xander and he rolled his eyes. Alexa glared at them, but turned to look at Xander and placed her hands against his cheeks as she stared into his hypnotising blue eyes.

She just stared at him, trying to use any mnemonic device her brain provided to store him in his long term memory. Every detail in his face or even body; she wanted to memorise.

"Step away from her," A guard growled, stepping closer than the other guards.

Alexa pulled his head down to kiss him and closed her eyes. His lips moved against hers with so much passion, she thought she'd melt in his arms. They were soft with a hint of urgency underlying the passionate lock of their lips.

His arms encircled her waist and he hugged her tightly, hard enough to crush her, but the Xrion blood running through her veins overpowered the bit of humanity she had left. Her thoughts were still of a human, she acted like them too, but physically she was more Xrionian than anything.

"Non per si viti," she whispered, pressing her forehead against his.

Xander glanced down at her red swollen lips and kissed her quickly. Hearing her say the powerful phrase so confidently and honestly made his heart flutter in his chest. She loved him as much as he loved her.

"I am not going to repeat myself," The guard snarled, pointing at them with the gun, "let her go before I blow your brains out."

Alexa turned to him, recognition ringing in her brain; she knew that voice. It was Seth; he wasn't a guard; he was just jabbing a gun at them. His eyes were filled with malice and his mouth was turned into a grim line. His hair was longer and a dark stubble was growing around his mouth.

He looked...unkempt.

"Seth?"

He ignored her, his eyes still on Xander. "I said to let that bïtch go."

She gritted her teeth, forcing herself to ignore the bastard and kiss Xander one last time. However, when she turned back to face him, he wasn't there; he was stalking towards Seth.

His eyes widened for a millisecond as he got ready to fire, but Xander snatched the gun out of his hands swiftly and snapped it in half. His blue eyes were nowhere to be found as he grabbed Seth's collar and snarled, "I have been dreaming of doing this ever since you disrespected Alexa."

A loud sickening noise echoed through the quiet ship as Xander punched him, breaking his nose and knocking him out cold. Alexa wouldn't be surprised if Seth got a concussion because the force Xander used to punch him was obviously otherworldly.

The rest of the guards lowered their guns, their eyes widening as they stared down at their fallen leader.

Xander hunched his shoulders, his knuckles still shaking at his sides and he took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. He didn't need to show the humans what he was truly capable of doing; the General specifically said not to start the war, but they had already started it when they took the love of his life away.

They had sparked a war they couldn't win and for the sake of the love the girls had grown for them, they chose to leave the insignificant planet.

"Xander?" Alexa spoke hesitantly; even when he was angry at her for breaking the hologram of Corah, he hadn't seen that way. She was experiencing a mixture of fear and arousal and Xander could feel her emotions stronger than the anger he was feeling.

He chuckled, his eyes slowly turning blue and whispered, "Ti pre nólle."

"What?" She frowned, but he didn't answer. He cupped her cheeks in his hands and kissed her deeply. She relaxed against his arms, losing herself in the kiss, but he pulled away all too quickly.

"I must leave now; the longer I stay aboard, the angrier I become and I do not want to lose my temper. There are abilities that I possess that you do not know of; it is best I depart."

Alexa nodded quickly, pressing another kiss to his lips and whispered, "I love you; non per si viti." She lowered her voice so that only he could hear her, "Remember to come see me."

"Non per si viti, mielle. I promise to do so." He flashed her a lopsided grin, "I cannot let you stay with my jacket," She smiled and with one last kiss, Xander turned away and disappeared, leaving a flash of white light behind him.

She gritted her teeth and clenched her fists at her sides as she turned to look at Seth on the ground. The guards stared at her as if she had another head and she rolled her eyes. Finally, one of them cleared his throat and quietly said, "The rest of the women are below deck. The trip back home is around three hours. Right now you will all be in a conference room because it was the biggest room to have all of you in at the same time. After you settle in, you will be allowed to go to rooms and rest."

Alexa nodded, but didn't respond. "Ricky, escort her down."

A guard that was standing closest to him took a step forward, holding his hand out for Alexa to take, but she glared at him and nodded towards the corridor. "Lead the way."

He nodded his head once and walked in front of her, glancing back every few seconds to make sure she was still there. She rolled her eyes, too annoyed at them for taking them to be respectful or pay attention to her surroundings.

A good warrior would've tried to keep their environment drilled in their mind, but she wasn't going to try to escape. Unlike Xander, her wounds wouldn't heal and she didn't exactly want to die by bullets.

They continued walking down the corridor, making a right turn at the end. Alexa looked down at the ground, feeling her heart beating in her chest quickly as she realised that there was no going back. That was it; no more amazing nights with Xander.

Her eyes watered, but she put up a front; she didn't need to show her weakness. Your enemy will crush you. She would not apologise or cry, she was a warrior and Xander had trusted in her to keep the rest of the women safe.

"Here we are," The guard cleared his throat, standing in front of two large white doors.

Alexa looked down further into the corridor for a bit and then waited for the guard to unlock the doors. "Why are they locking us in here? Are y'all afraid we'll leave again?"

"Exactly," he huffed, placing his keys inside his jacket again.

She rolled her eyes, opening the door and waited until he locked it before walking further into the room.

The room was chaotic and loud. There were women crying and others were throwing the chairs at the walls. The atmosphere was a mixture of heartache and anger; exactly what she felt. She quickly scanned the room, trying to find for a familiar face and sighed in relief.

Jordan was trying to keep a girl from tearing the tables apart and Kelly was sitting near a corner, holding herself tightly.

"Jordan?"

She looked up at Alexa, heaving out a sigh and muttered, "Finally! The guards kept on bitching about you being the only one behind; they wouldn't leave without you."

"Sorry?" She muttered, making it sound more like a question rather than a genuine apology. "Anyways, can you help me get them to quiet down? I need to make an announcement."

Jordan cursed under her breath, docking once a flying chair came her way and she waved her hand in the air. "Be my guest! I've tried calming these bitches down and they're batshït crazy."

Alexa sighed, walking towards the middle of the room and took a deep breath. "Listen up!" She spoke loudly, gritting her teeth when only a couple of women turned to her. "GOD DAMMIT LISTEN!" She cried out, feeling her veins popping at the sides of her neck by the force it took.

They all turned to look at her and she breathed out quietly. "Now that I have your attention, there is something I'd like to share with all of you. As you all know, we're being taken back to the mainland because President Goodhart got a stick shoved up his pretty little ass and he wants to start a war. Not only is it pointless, but we'll lose against the Xrions; that's why they are leaving. They don't want to fight."

"Why can't we go with them?!" A dark haired girl spoke up, mascara running down her cheeks with her tears. "I don't want to leave Victor; I actually fell for him!" At her comment, murmurs began to break out and she sighed.

"I already tried that argument. Xander told me that General Jenks isn't allowing any female to depart with them because they do not know if we'll survive the trip. Their oxygen levels differ from ours and they haven't been able to test out the chances of our survival."

Jordan crossed her arms over her chest, walking towards Alexa and stood next to her. "This fücking sucks. I've never cried over a man, but Hugh changed that; I don't want to stay in Earth if this is what we'll go through."

Alexa nodded. "Tell me about it. Nevertheless, I have to ask you guys a couple of questions. It is for our safety; the Xrions believe that the President is calling us back in order to get information. They don't know if it's to experiment or interrogate us. Xander told me that after they told the President that they had extended the deadline for having kids, he grew enraged."

"They probably want to take our babies," A dark skinned girl muttered meekly, pushing back her dark curly hair as she sighed tiredly.

"Oh my god!" Kelly breathed out, placing her hand on her stomach. "They can't do that! That's against our rights; I fücking know my rights, I've been arrested plenty of times to know!"

"We don't know for certain that's what they want to do," Alexa said softly, "but we have to take precautions. I don't know about you guys, but I don't want to end up in a lab table like a lab rat."

"So what do we do?" Jordan asked, raising an eyebrow.

"We lie," Alexa whispered, looking back at the doors to make sure no guard where there. "I have a chip on me that will interfere with any device they might've put in here to listen to us. So right now they can't hear us, unless they're right outside the door."

Jordan nodded her head once. "I'll stand guard."

"Thanks," she smiled, "okay. The Xrions said that none of the women got pregnant. They said that most of the women wanted more time and they gave it to us. They also kept out the bit where they infused their blood with ours; if any of you want to become a freaking experiment, be my guest and let them know of what happened."

Most of the women shook their heads quickly, whilst others stared at her with wide eyes.

"I need to know how many of you are pregnant. Those of you who are will stay with me and we'll figure something out."

A woman stood up, glaring up at her and said, "Who made you the leader?"

Alexa narrowed her eyes, glaring at her in return and said, "I don't see anyone else standing up for the job, do you?"

"No," she muttered, blushing in embarrassment.

"Exactly," she snapped, "now; I need all the women that are pregnant to sit down." Almost all of them stayed standing. She frowned. "None of you are pregnant?"

Kelly raised her hand slowly and bit her bottom lip. "I'm expecting." From behind her, Kai walked up, her stomach a bit larger than Kelly's, but still not noticeable. "Me too."

"Okay," Alexa breathed out, "just two of you?"

"Me too," A dark skinned girl spoke out softly. She was shorter than the other girls and seemed more fragile. Her cheekbones were high and her hair was long, covering most of her back.

"What's your name?"

"Millie," She replied, playing with her fingers idly. "Are they going to take my baby?"

Alexa shook her head, feeling a pang of fear hitting her. Millie looked so fragile; like a porcelain doll. She couldn't let anyone hurt her! "No, Millie, they won't. We have to stick together until we know what's going to happen." She turned to the other women. "What about you guys?"

"Miscarriage," was the only word that could be heard throughout the crowd.

She widened her eyes in surprise and said, "All of you? I know Xander said some had miscarriages, but I didn't think that the number would be so high!"

"What about you?" Kelly asked quietly. "Are you pregnant?"

Alexa frowned, but shook her head slowly. "No, I just got off my period."

"Shhh!" Jordan hissed, "Someone's coming!"

The women tried to act as if nothing were happening. They sat down and others tried to clean up the mess. Jordan walked up to Alexa and muttered, "What the hell are we going to do with them?! They don't look pregnant, but what happens when they start looking it?!"

Alexa opened her mouth to reply, but the doors opened and she turned to look at the men entering the room.

"Ms. Alexandra Dominick?"

She raised an eyebrow, placing her hands on her hips and said, "What do you want?"

"Mr. Callen requests your presence," The leader spoke up, his eyes glancing over the women as he held unto his gun tightly.

Alexa clenched her jaw. Why did Seth want her and why was he even there!?
