Warning: This first bit here, is a bit graphic. As in, she's explaining her period. I'm a girl, dude, kay? So I can write this crap and not feel weird. It's part of human nature. I find it stupid not to explain everything we do. We poop, we pee, we cry, we eat, we throw up and the list goes on. If you're too disgusted to read it, just skim over it. And to those of you who will tell me that periods don't work this way; periods are different for each girl. I made Alexa's like mine; suffer, bitch.

She thought she was going to die. The pain in her stomach was going to kill her. And she hadn't even said goodbye to her mother.

Alexa sobbed, holding unto her stomach and looked down at her thighs. They were covered in sticky tears and red, elbow marks. She had been sitting on the toilet for almost half an hour. The first ten minutes she spent cleansing her bowels and the last twenty she sobbed over cramps.

She couldn't move from her position because she was sure she would die. Her cramps were usually enough to make her cry, but what she felt at that very moment must've been karma. If having kids would make her feel worse during labour, she'd probably pass out.

After taking a deep breath and wiping as much as she could of herself clean, she flushed the toilet and ran into the shower. She felt disgusting and the hot water somehow relieved the pain.

Mother Nature was punishing for being such a brat towards Xander and breaking the picture of Corah. It was the only logical explanation.

She grimaced at the mix of blood and water swirling down the drain and almost passed out when a blood clot slid down her legs. It didn't even look like a blood clot; it felt like her intestines were crawling down her uterus.

Alexa got down on her knees, groaning and whimpering as the pressure in her uterus began to intensify and she swore she saw white dots dancing in her line of vision. The hot water poured down on her, washing away the fluids and she sighed once the cramps slowly relieved. If she could, she'd spend the entire day in the shower.

Her flow wasn't heavy, but the cramps were enough to make anyone want to rip their ovaries out. And at that moment, it sounded tempting.

She closed the faucet, quickly drying herself and grabbed a pad. The tampon seemed to make it worst for her at that moment. The pressure of it inside of her and the cramps seemed to clash like the titans.

"I can do this," she whispered to herself, using the sink as her support as she held the toothbrush in one hand and her stomach with the other. She wrinkled her nose at the smell of blood mixed with her excrement and sprayed some freshener to not suffocate herself.

After she was done, she closed the door behind her and breathed out. "I died in there, my goodness."

Her stomach growled in hunger and she glared down at it. "Oh shut it, whatever I eat, you poop out an hour later. It's your fault you're empty." She widened her eyes, realising that she was talking to her stomach and sighed. She needed company.

Alexa walked out towards the kitchen, holding her stomach as if it were fragile and looked into the fridge for something. "What do you want?" She looked down at her stomach, sighing once the cramps began to prickle her again. "I didn't ask you what you wanted," she whimpered.

Xander frowned at her, entering the kitchen and placed his bag on the floor. "Who are you speaking to?"

"My tummy," she whimpered, sounding like a child.

He raised his eyebrows, tilting his head and said, "Are you alright? I heard you crying this morning."

She nodded, hissing in a breath and closed her eyes. "Do you have any pills? Or a knife? A knife works; just rip my damn ovaries out."

He stood up from the stool, cautiously walking towards her and she stared at him with wide eyes as he hesitantly grabbed her hand. She watched him with curious eyes as he placed his hand over her lower stomach, right below her bellybutton and waited to see what he was doing.

A slow warmth began to spread through her, the massive cramps relieving until they were completely gone and she widened her eyes even more. "What did you do?"

"I stimulated your brain to release more endorphins to this area."

"Endorphins?" She frowned.

He nodded; his hand still pressed against her stomach and said, "They are your brain's natural source of morphine. Your brain releases them when you are in pain and when you are experiencing pleasure."

"Oh," she mumbled, "you suck, brain, you weren't sending enough."

Xander slowly lowered his hand, but she grabbed it, making him frown at her.

"Can you do my back? It's killing me..."

She turned around, biting her bottom lip and hoped with all her might that he wouldn't stab her to death. This was the nicest he'd been since the accident and she didn't know how long it would last, but she'd take advantage of what she could.

He placed his left hand on the side of her waist and then pressed his right hand against the small place of her back. His fingers went over her back dimples and she breathed out in relief once the pain disappeared. Magic fingers; literally.

Her face quickly darkened and she stumbled away from him, not wanting to meet his eyes for the thoughts she was having. If his fingers could bring her that much pleasure from being placed over her stomach, what could they do if they...

Stupid period hormones.

"Thank you," she mumbled, opening the fridge and waved her hand against her face because it felt like it could melt lava. "Do you want to eat something? I can cook whatever."

"No, thank you," he shook his head, "I had dinner with the General."

"Xander," she whispered, meeting his eyes again, "I know I've been the worst person ever, but I'm really sorry. Like genuinely sorry."

Xander clenched his jaw, shaking his head and stepped away from her, knowing that if she was close enough, he'd regret it. "You cannot do that. You humans believe that with a simple apology everything will be resolved. You were ungrateful and-"

"I didn't mean to break the frame," she whispered, looking down at her fingers, "I swear it was an accident."

He glared at her and for a minute she thought he was going to take out all of his anger on her. She swore he wanted to slap her silly; she would have. "I know it was an accident, but I do not want to talk about this anymore. The General told me that I should allow you to speak with your family. My only order was to intervene if you speak about our location."

She nodded, excitement making her giddy and she said, "Thank you! I'm not even sure where we're at though..."

"I just meant that you cannot tell them we are on an island."

"Okay," she nodded again, taking the phone he was holding out. She dialled her mother's number, tapping her fingers on the counter and frowned once it went straight voicemail. "Mom? Hey...I know it's been a really long time since we spoke...but...you remember that night that the President said that he'd be sending a hundred women to the Aliens because they demanded them? Well I'm one of those women...crazy, right? Anyways, I just wanted to let you know I'm okay and they're not green or little! They're actually quite...hot...so, yeah. I'll try to call you again another time and tell you more. I love you!"

After ending the call, she looked up at Xander and blushed. He was staring at her with raised eyebrows and she felt embarrassed. But he didn't say anything, so neither would she. She dialled Seth's number next and frowned after the third ring; he usually answered quickly.

"Hello?"

"Seth?" She bit her bottom lip, content that he had answered.

"Alexa?" He slurred, frowning at the clock as he sat up. "Why are you calling me so damn late? It's three in the morning."

"Oh," her face fell, "sorry. I just...I thought..."

He rolled his eyes, sliding his hand down his face and said, "Where the hell are you? I've spent half of my pay check looking for you and no one has found anything."

"I'm with the Aliens," she replied.

"With the Aliens," he repeated, "with the fücking Aliens?! Are you fücking kidding me?! Do you think this is some kind of joke, Alexa?"

Alexa gritted her teeth, clenching her fists at her sides and said, "I'm not joking, Seth. I'm with the Aliens. The President said-"

"I know what the fücking President said," he snapped, "what I want to know why is; what the hell are you doing with them?!"

"I was accidentally-"

He interrupted her. "What the fück are they doing to you? Don't they need women to fück with?"

"They haven't done anything!" She snapped, feeling the need to defend them, "They're actually treating me better than I thought."

"You're fücking the Aliens, aren't you?" He spat.

Her jaw fell open and she hissed, "Why the hell would you even say that? We're engaged you dipshit! You should know better than anyone that I wouldn't cheat on you!"

Seth rolled his eyes. "Then why else would you defend them? You're clearly sleeping with them."

"How stupid are you?" She said loudly, turning away from Xander as she forgot he was there, "You know what? Don't even answer that question. I have not been sleeping with the Aliens; I'm not a whore."

"Oh, I beg to differ," he muttered.

"What?!"

"Look, Alexa, Jonah told me that you kissed him that night at Franco's okay? I will forgive you, just apologise."

"You fücking ässhole," she fumed, her face turning red in anger, "I didn't cheat on you! I don't even know a damn Jonah! You know what? Fück you; I'm not apologising for something I didn't do."

If she had him in front of her, she'd hit him with the pan. She didn't know if it was her period or if she had finally had enough, but she was sick and tired of him. She couldn't even remember the last time they spoke without fighting.

"Why would my friend lie about that, Alexa? Just apologise and come back. Parkinson doesn't want to give me the promotion unless I'm married because he thinks that I won't be focused if my wife is in another state."

"This engagement is all about a promotion?" She laughed, not finding it humorous at all. "Are you freaking kidding me?"

He rolled his eyes, sliding his hand down his face. "Why else would I propose, Alexa? No offense, but you're not exactly wife-material."

By that time, Xander had enough. No woman, no matter how ungrateful they were, deserved to be humiliated that way. He snatched the phone out of Alexa's hand and quietly said, "You do not believe she is worthy of being someone's wife? What does that say about you? You were the one that proposed, brainless human." He shook his head, the anger radiating off his voice, making Alexa widen her eyes in fear. "You no longer have to worry then; I have gladly taken her off your hands."

"Excuse me? Who the fück are you? Are you the dumbäss she's fücking? Let me tell you, it's not even that good!"

Xander gritted his teeth, wanting to rip his skull from his brain and Alexa took the phone before he could crush it in his hand. "We're through, Seth. Find yourself another idiot who likes a tiny dïck."

Seth continued screaming obscenities through the phone and ending the call wouldn't give Xander the satisfaction; he crushed the phone in his hands. He turned to Alexa, angry that she would allow herself to be treated that way and said, "Is that the type of man you cried for every night? That is the type of man you hate me for? Unbelievable; you Earth women are just-"

She blinked her tears away, wiping her nose and whispered, "I'm going to my room now." Alexa walked past him with tears sliding down her cheeks and he suddenly felt sorry for her. But he didn't know what to do to make her feel better.

As soon as she was in the room, she sat down on the floor and began sobbing. Her emotions were all over the place; part of her knew that Seth was an ässhole, but the other part didn't want to admit it. She was angry at herself for being with him that long.

She had spent her college years on an idiot like him. The first couple of months were heaven; they always were. And she was too stupidly in love to see what an ässhole he truly was. It pissed her off.

How stupid was she? She was willing to spend the rest of her life with a condescending piece of shit because she thought they were in love. If she could slap some sense into herself, she would have.

Alexa let out a groan, hissing curses under her breath and looked up at the painting of Corah. It wasn't complete, but she had the outline finished. With a little more shading and colouring, she'd look good enough to give to Xander. It was the least she could do for giving him hell.

She stood up, walking towards the canvas and wiped her tears away before grabbing a colour pencil. She made sure that her hands were no longer wet and began adding colour to her cheeks. If she wasn't wife material, she at least knew she was good at something.

"Do not think that way," Xander murmured, making her widen her eyes and almost draw a line down the paper.

"Jesus!" She squeaked, holding her hand to her chest, "You scared me!"

He smiled, small, but it was a smile nonetheless. He walked towards her, placing the can of Pringles on the side of her bed and stood before the painting. His eyes widened for a fraction of a second and then he glanced at Alexa.

She blushed, looking down at her hands and whispered, "I know it's not the same and she won't look exactly like the girl in the picture, but-"

"Do not do that," His blue eyes were bright and they seemed to hold emotion that she couldn't decipher.

"Don't do what?"

"Put yourself down that way. Your fiancé is an idiot. If you were not wife-material, why would he want to spend the rest of his life with you?"

Alexa shrugged, turning away to continue colouring Corah's cheek and muttered, "I don't want to talk about it, honestly."

Xander sighed, watching as she lightened the top of her cheekbone and said, "How can people create art portrays like that?"

She raised her eyebrows, turning to look at him and said, "What do you mean?"

"Paint others; I have troubles drawing a straight line."

Alexa laughed, the sound making him smile and she said, "I'm not sure...I guess some of us are a little more comfortable with certain things. I can draw, but I can't play a sport to save my life."

He chuckled, standing next to her and pointed to a small strand of hair that had fallen over Corah's green eyes. "How can you remember this little detail?" He lowered his voice as if he were speaking to himself and said, "She was very content that day."

She turned to look at him, the sadness in his voice making her frown. "Do you want to talk about it?" Her voice came out soft; it surprised him how caring she could sound.

Xander cleared his throat, speaking a bit louder and said, "Would you like to know about it?"

She was quiet for a little, just looking over the painting and then said, "Yeah. I mean, if it's okay with you. If we're going to live together, we might as well be friends, right?"

He smiled at her, slowly relaxing his shoulders and said, "She was my girlfriend." Her stomach dropped with her smile. Of course that was his girlfriend. She was beautiful and so was he; it was only logical. How could she even compete with that?! Wait...

"Our relationship was a bit...complicated," he continued, "the customs in our planet are very different. Once you decide to marry someone, they will be your partner for the rest of your life; we take it very seriously. Anyway, Corah was General Jenks' daughter; we were friends since we were younger. My parents died very early in a battle with the Griods and my parents were very close to the General and he took me in. We started dating in our teen years and everyone expected us to be together. Corah was a year older than me and she was going to take over the throne once she reached twenty."

Alexa nodded, placing the colour pencil with the others and motioned for him to sit down on the floor next to her. Xander did so, leaning his back against the end of her bed and they both looked out the grand window.

"Our relationship was more of a brother/sister type of thing. I loved her, but not like I was supposed to. I did not see myself being able to form a family with her. But since everyone expected us to get married, I began to believe that I loved her. I am not sure if you understand what I am trying to say..."

"Yeah," she murmured, "it was like...you didn't want to disappoint anyone if you didn't."

Xander nodded. "Exactly; do not get me wrong, I loved her. When we began courting, my feelings for her were genuine. But they slowly began to fade. Sometimes our differences were too great and it resulted in big fights over small things. That picture I had was one of the very few we took and it was when we began our relationship. She began focusing on her duties as a princess and I began focusing on my duties as a warrior, so we lost the intimate parts of our relationship."

Alexa turned her body to face him and tucked her legs underneath herself. She leaned her head against the bed and murmured, "What was she like?"

"She was...she was very lively. She always wanted to make those around her happy and she was very funny. Her smile was so bright, it was contagious. You could never be sad around her because she would find ways to uplift your spirits."

"She sounds nice," she smiled at him.

He smiled in return, not revealing his teeth and said, "She was; Vrya, her mother, and her were one of the first women to go."

"I'm sorry," Alexa whispered, surprising both of them as she gave him a hug. Xander froze against her, his muscular body going completely rigid and she awkwardly released him. She pursed her lips and mumbled, "Sorry."

Xander shook his head and quietly replied, "It is alright. I miss her sometimes. She would give me a certain inspiration that no one had ever given me, but as the years progressed even she could not inspire me."

"What happened?"

"We just...fell apart. After her death, I was angry at myself. I should have shown her I loved her or at least allowed her to be with someone who could love her as much as I once did. But it was too late. I stopped speaking to anyone and I buried myself with my duties even more. The General had to force me to eat because I was so focused on suppressing my memories of her that I forgot the rest of the things that were necessary."

"I'm sorry," she whispered, sniffling once she realised that there were tears sliding down her face.

Xander turned to her, smiling crookedly and raised his hand to wipe her tears away. "Do not cry for me; it has almost been seven years. Time truly does heal; it may seem like it will not at first, but it does. There are times that I will miss her terribly, but we meet new people that will heal that pain."

Alexa nodded and stared at his hands quietly. There wasn't anything on them in particular, but she zoned out looking at them. She admired each curvature and line, scars and marks; everything. Ah, maybe a hand fetish?

"You told your mother something that has been bothering me," he said quietly and she looked at him, waiting for a further explanation, "you said that your President demanded the women to come. Is that true?"

She frowned, trying to remember and said, "Er...he just said that since you guys are so powerful, he doesn't want to anger you by not giving you the women."

He clenched his jaw tightly, making the muscles seem more prominent. "I am sorry, but you humans are truly...unkind. I was present during this meeting and we never demanded women to come. We asked him if he could ask his people to volunteer to help us. Trent mentioned the Griods and he had a complete change of heart. We did not do it intentionally; he said that we could provide protection from other species and your President agreed. We had three conditions," he cleared his throat, "the women had to know why they were coming here. They had to come willingly, be fertile and intelligent."

"How would you guys measure whether they were intelligent or not?"

"It had to do more with values than intelligence," he replied, "we did not want them to have such a large gap between our morals."

She nodded, biting her bottom lip and said, "I didn't know that. I thought you guys threatened us into coming here then kidnapped us."

"Alexa," The way he said her name brought shivers down her spine; it was full of endearment and it surprised her, "our women were very important to us. Not only because we needed them to keep our lineage going, but because they were our people. In essence, we were equal; why would we treat your women any differently? The way I treated you was the same way I treated every Xrionian woman I encountered."

"I promise I don't treat every guy like I treated you," she whispered.

Xander chuckled, looking away from her and said, "I sure hope so."

"I'm sorry," she muttered, her voice dripping with sincerity, "I swear to make it up to you any way you want. I'll cook whatever you like and I'll be nice. I'll definitely consider that having a large family with you."

He widened his eyes, turning to her and she turned completely red. She tended to rant whenever she was nervous and when she would rant; she would also blurt out some of her embarrassing thoughts.

"Well...I mean...like that's what I'm here for, right?"

After he coughed a little, he cleared his throat and said, "There is something you should know...I am guessing you did not pay attention during the welcoming presentation, so I will repeat it. The first six months your women do not need to have any sexual intercourse with us; it is your choice. After those six months are over, you either have to be trying to be conceiving or you must get a sperm insemination."

Alexa widened her eyes and gulped, suddenly feeling more awake than ever. "What happens to us if we can't conceive?"

"The chances of that happening are very slight; each woman was thoroughly examined in order to avoid that. If your pregnancies were failing, but you wished to stay with us, you may. The General thinks that our men might fall in love with your women and vice versa."

She grinned nervously, feeling a tad uncomfortable that he seemed so tranquil with the topic. "What do you think?"

He shrugged. "I am not entirely sure. I have spoken to a couple of men that seem to have taken quite a fancy to them. I know a couple who already are trying to have children. I guess only time will tell."

"True," she murmured, turning to look at the starry sky and whispered, "Xander?"

"Yes?"

"Can we start all over? I know you probably still hate me for breaking the frame and for being such a brat but...I want to make it up to you."

Xander sighed, running his fingers through his black hair and said, "I do not hate you, Alexa. I was just holding my anger back and I guess that when you broke the frame, I could not control it anymore."

"I understand," she bit her bottom lip.

"It does not mean that we cannot start all over," A small smile grew on his lips. "What is your name?"

Alexa grinned, taking his hand in hers and said, "I'm Alexandra Dominick; but I don't like my name, so please, call me Alexa."
