"103... 104... 105"

The man sighed and gave up counting. He'd woken up earlier that day with no memory of how he got there. All day, he spent looking for a way out, or a way to call for help. But his captors were smart enough to not leave anything behind.

Eventually, it grew dark and he had no choice but to give up and resort to counting the water drops that fell from the leaky faucet and onto a bucket. He spent all day on the damp floors of a cell with no food or water, in complete isolation.

He would've lost hope a long time ago if it wasn't for the recurring memory of his family, he tried to fight for them. But now it was time to accept that there was no way out. He was tired, both mentally and physically.

The sound of the creaking door, made him look up from under his knees and saw around five figures enter the room.

"W-who are you?" He asked, a part of him hoping they were here to rescue him. The lights switched on and he covered his eyes to protect himself from the blinding lights.

"Hand me the syringe, doctor Evans," A female said. By the way she was dressed, the man deduced that she was a scientist or a doctor of some sort. "And turn on the camera"

The male doctor nodded and did as he was told. The female doctor received a syringe filled with thick-green liquid.

"What's that?" He asked, panic rising in his chest. He was once again ignored as his captors continued their work.

Doctor Evans, snapped his fingers signalling two of the bulky men to unlock the cell. Before he could even think of escaping, his arms were held tightly by the men and a pulse machine was attached to him. The female doctor entered the cell and with every click of her heel, his fear heightened.

"L-let go of me! This is crazy!" He screamed.

"Hush now," The doctor said in a calm voice that made goosebumps appear on his skin. "If you keep moving this way, you'll be at a bigger risk"

The man couldn't protest even if he wanted to, his scrawny self was no match for two big muscular guards.

"Please, don't do this," He said, tears falling down his cheeks. He felt a sharp pain in his neck and the liquid in the syringe was slowly transferred into his blood. The guards dropped him on the floor and left the cell, leaving him there.

He sat there in shock, not knowing what was to happen next. He didn't have to wait too long for an answer, as slowly he felt his bones crack. He let out a loud groan, trying to bear the pain.

"W-what is happening to me?" He managed to say between his wails. He puked out crimson blood, which landed on the muddy floor and his eyes changed colour. He could hear the voices of the doctors speaking outside, but couldn't make out what they were saying. His head began to spin and after a few minutes, he dropped to the floor.

"His pulse has gone down" Doctor Evans informed. They waited for a few more minutes until they heard a low growl from the man. The female doctor smirked.

"Project X is a success"
