Sabrina's POV

"December 12th, 2051: 14th Year Anniversary"

It's the time of the year where everyone celebrates the victory of mankind against the creatures known as the Phobos. The Phobos have killed my parents when I was just a kid. The memories of her death linger in my mind ever since it happened. I can't do anything it was like the ground paralyzed my whole body completely frozen.

"Flashback: August 28th, 2036- The Grand Earthquake/Phobos Unleashed: Washington D.C"

I was with her at that time, she was holding my hand and I can see it in her eyes, she's so happy that she has me. I can't actually remember everything because I was so young, my memory was fuzzy but I know we were going to the park on that day to play with my friends and rest the day out but a sudden earthquake changed everything. We called it the Grand Earthquake or commonly referred to as Phobos Unleashed. It was when creatures unbeknownst to mankind have emerged.

A fissure between us two opened and we could see something down there who wanted to break out. The ground diverged quickly, I lost grip to my mother's warm hands. We are drifted apart, we can't take a step. The ground's shaking violently. All I can do was cry and call my mother. The ground stopped rumbling but a monster interrupted the silence. It emerged from the ground it was pitch black with its gigantic hands, its eyes were colored in pure crimson red, it has a distorted mouth with huge fangs, its body is filled with scratches and blood, the monster's tall and it looked like it was hungry. I was stunned, I can't move, my body trembled and petrified by its intimidating looks that I even peed my pants. I was so scared.

I looked at the other side and called my mother but she's running away. "MOM!! HELP!!"

I cried loudly and tears verged. I fell down, I can't stand. Fear consumed my mind. "Don't leave me, mom!!"

The earth once more angered and rippled the ground. More and more of the creatures appeared on the ground. I was just crying the whole time looking at my mother afar.

The monster then took my running mom. She was screaming in pain and despair as the monster grabbed her incredibly tiny body. She was crying, she looked at me and then she smiled.

"Let go of me!! Run! Run Hannah!! Run!! I love you, sweetie! I'm so-" she shouted far away from me but before she can finish, the monster took a bite and in an instant, she disappeared.

I can't move an inch. I just cried when I saw my mother devoured by the foul creature. The monster looked happy as if it hasn't eaten a single food for so many years. The monster then took another one and another one to fill its satisfaction. I was just looking at the monster when somebody grabbed me. It was a man I don't know who but he carried me away from there. I stretched my hands crying. I felt pain inside my heart. I saw everything around me slowly disappearing. We were going far away, I saw the monster looked at me. Its eyes are terrifying. It was like it was looking directly at my soul.

"Mother..." I cried.

The man left me in a hidden place. He left me alone. There were old pieces of machinery inside. The oils were leaking and the smell is foul. No one is inside though but still, I felt uneasiness.

Before he left he said "Go away. Survive. No matter what you do, don't ever go near those monsters. We don't know what caused these monsters to appear! They're like aliens or something."

He frightened me. I wish that time that I was with my father. But I don't really know where he is, mother never told me anything about him, I don't even know if he's alive. Time passes by and all I can hear was gunshots, people screaming, people panicking, they were all running for their survival. Every night I closed my ears, eyes crying and hoping for someone to help me. When someone walks by who's holding a food, they sometimes drop one or two. I will get it to survive.

"September 9th, 2036"

A week passed by and another guy I didn't know approached me. He grabbed my hand and told me that he will help me to get out of there but suddenly a monster was actually behind him and he tried to threw me with all his strength. I was struggling with his grip and then he pushed me. I was so scared and then he ran away from me. I can see her face laughing and smiling but I know he is afraid. I tried to crawl away but my body felt weak. Luckily, the monster grabbed the man who promised to save me. He was screaming in agony.

He screamed and pointed at me "KILL HER! NOT ME!"

I was crying so loud. Everything around feels like a warzone. There were blood and flesh everywhere. Some are rotten, some are fresh. I can't remember what happened next. I suddenly felt dizzy, everything around me spiralizing. I can barely see the monster in front of me, it slowly loses its grip with the man's body. It seems like it wanted to sleep. I felt weakness surging through my body and then I fainted in the dreadful solid ground.

I woke up at a warm, cozy bed. I can't recall time and I don't know where I was but a woman was beside me. I looked at her.

She asked "Are you alright? Are you feeling well? I'm glad you're awake."

She added "It must have been hard in there. You're lucky that monster beside you is dead."

I was relieved but I refuse to speak. I don't think I can trust everyone in this cruel world. There will always be a time that they will leave me. I am sad, I wish I was with my parents.

Time passed by, they were actually good people. They helped me survive this world. They said that they were part of Lazarus Institute, they were here to help me survive and when the time has come the Phobos are gone, they will help me to be part of the Lazarus Institute. Until the day I didn't expect came.

"December 12th, 2037: Declaration of Independence and Authority of Survival to Lazarus Institute"

I met a friend on a cloudy morning. She was the same age as I am. It was my birthday, I was free from fear and pain. We met in a nearby park while my the people I consider friends who helped me survive are getting ready to get away and move to New York-Lazarus Institute.

"Hello?" I asked and tapped her shoulder.

"Hi. Are you around here?" She asked.

"Yes. Let's play! I am happy to introduce you to my friends!" I replied.

"You have friends? I don't have one." she replied sadly.

"I can be your friend. What's your name?" I seated beside her in the garden swing. I smiled looking at her. She replaced her sad look to happiness.

"We can?" she asked with excitement.

"Yes! I am Hannah" I exclaimed. I am excited to make a new friend who is the same age as I am. I am only around my friends that are definitely bigger than me, the Lazarus Institute people.

"I am Heather. Nice to meet you, Ana. Oh. Can I call you Ana then?" she replied happily.

"Sure! Come on let's play before the Lazarus Institute people and I will go" I replied but sadness filled her face once more that was full of happiness a while ago.

"What's wrong Heather?" I asked. She replied nothing and then we started playing.

We played games but then a woman, a friend of mine from the Lazarus Institute called out for me.

"Hannah! We will go now." she said from afar nearby a rock facing us.

"Wait! I will say goodbye to my friend." I replied.

"Your friends are calling you. Go now." Heather responded to me.

"Bye. See you then Heather." I said as I bow my head walking away from Heather.

Heather ran toward me and whispered. "Wait! I need to tell you something."

My Lazarus Institute friend had left. She said that I should follow her immediately when I'm done and go to the base. We took a seat and talked about something I am curious to know why.

"I have a brother and sister but those Lazarus Institute took them away from me." she replied with a sad look in her face. She looked worried.

"Why would they do that? They are good people you know. They helped me survive." I replied defending the Lazarus Institute.

"You don't know who they really are yet you trust them. I can't trust them because they hurt my brothers. I don't even know where they are now." she looked at me with her sad face.

She added "I miss them so much. They were the only person who I trust"

I asked, "Why didn't you come with them?"

"There were rumors." She replied with her sad face again. She looked like she kept these burdens hidden to only herself.

"Like what?" I asked.

"You will find out. But all I can say is beware of them. They are not the person they seem to be." she replied warning me about the Lazarus Institute.

"O-ok." I stuttered.

"GET THEM!" a guy shouted from afar.

"Go now Ana!" she told me. I slowly walked away from her going to the path where my other friends were.

I looked back as I walk. I saw Heather she was running away. The wind blew strongly and the sky turned dark. The rain will come soon. I hastily ran to the broken streets I have walked earlier. I entered the passage where my friends at but when I entered the base they were gone. I looked around and everyone and everything they have were nowhere to be found. It was at that moment I knew they some kind of lied to me. I tried to escape from that place but the exit was blocked. Three people I don't know blocked the way, they were holding guns. I fell down and I backed away with a foot at a time. I saw their uniforms they were from the Lazarus Institute. Then suddenly I heard my friend, Alisa Frost.

"Wait! She is not part of this!" she shouted. She showed her palm stopping all the soldiers pointing their gun to me.

Alisa Frost is actually a head scientist of Lazarus Institute New York Station. She helped me stand up, everyone looked at us inside that secret base.

She asked, "Are you okay?" I felt numb. I can't move. I felt something bit me in my arm. That's the last thing I remember. I woke up in a room, it was cold. I stood up and I walked. I saw my mother. She was alive. I can't believe it. She looked at me and then she hugged me. I felt her warm hands and body once more. Then suddenly I heard Alisa Frost's voice echoing to my ears.

"Are you alright now?" she said.

I woke up again but I'm in a laboratory.

"Ahh... She's awake now. Dr. Frezz? What do you think?-" I tried to eavesdrop but my head feels heavy. They walked out of the room but I can see them behind a transparent glass. I looked around, my hands are tied. I tried to break free but I was chained in metal, it's so heavy to lift. I saw advanced machinery inside. The doctor and Alisa were talking about something I can't hear. Alisa entered and freed me clicking a button.

She told me "Let's go outside. I will help you." I didn't reply to her.

She helped me stand up and outside I heard someone behind me.

"This is bad. The future. Why is it like this. We need to kill that kid." I heard.

Alisa then grabbed a gun from a soldier. The soldier fought back but Alisa won, she snapped the guy's neck. She pointed the gun to the doctor and to the other two people near him.

"I will not let you kill her!" Alisa stormed pointing the gun. She is serious.

"Alisa! We can talk about this!" Dr.Frezz said in fear. The doctor is an old person with glasses, his eyes were green and he wears a white coat. He has his ID and he is holding a syringe.

"Stop this at an instance! Or else-" one assistant added.

She laughed and said "Or else? Ha! You taught I will spare your lives?" She then fired two shots killing the doctor's aids.

*BANG BANG*

"Agh... Alisa... Why..? You will bring an end to Laza-.." the assistants died.

She saw the doctor trying to reach a button. She then fires a shot to the doctor's hand. I was holding tightly to her hips, I am crying because I don't like seeing people die in front of my eyes. I see the sadness in the doctor's eyes.

"Alisa stop this! She will only cause destruction and extinction to mankind! Don't you get it that this is the only way we must do to stop our people suffering!" the doctor cried. The doctor's hand is bleeding, he was trembling in fear. He then grabs a gun at his back but Alisa fired her last shot. The doctor kneeled and then fell to the ground, dead. Alisa looked at me.

"Hannah are you okay? Don't cry. I will save you." she said.

"Why are they saying that I will be a big threat to humanity? Tell me it is not true." I cried.

"Its gonna be okay. From now on you are Sabrina Valheur of Valheur residency. No one will found out who is the killer, I destroyed all the cameras around here I know. Never let another know what has happened. The Institute hid another time machine that was never announced not like the Past Projector. This time they can also find what will happen in the future. You were tested in its first version and you were one of the first ones to try it. Also, I am your aunt Alisa. I am glad that you are still alive." she hugged me. It felt like she embodied my mother. The hug that I've been longing for, I felt it once more.

"Let's go before someone will find out about this." We ran away from the laboratory. We were lucky that the other scientists were not around for they are celebrating the time of the year where humanity's victory against the Phobos was announced. We have successfully escaped from the facility.

I asked, "Do you know where father is?"

She replied and touched my cheeks comforting me."I don't know how to tell you this but brother, he is dead. When we tried to fight the monsters, he was perished and devoured by the creature, we can't save him."

He was an intelligent man. He picked his job over us. I know that he loves us but I wish I could meet him. I was just a baby when he separated ways with us. Mother and I miss him so much but he was not allowed to be with his family for the contract talks about loyalty and a total separation to the person you love.

"Daddy..." I whispered.

The news about the three doctors that died in the New York Facility of Lazarus Institute have been easily the head of the news, the scientists of the Institute suspected something like a mysterious rebel have been doing this while an event happens. In the news, the thing about experimenting with children was never announced. I was informed by my new mother that Sam Wilson is furious but they never suspected Alisa Frost, being one of the heads of New York Lazarus Institute Laboratory. These were the memories I can never forget. Heather, Alisa Frost? When will I get to meet them again? Its been years. I wonder if I will be capable to enter Lazarus DFC.

I didn't know that joining Lazarus DFC will mean a painless death to me but I am ready to uncover the real truth.

Test Subject: Althea Phillips

"Ok! Are we done now? Is the camera playing Dr.Miles?" Sam Wilson said.

"Yes it is," he replied.

"So this what you are seeing now is the first version of Future Time Machine which has the capability to uncover the future of people in our world. With this discovery of mine, we can create a world of perfection, everything will be in order and it is by the power of Lazarus Institute." Sam Wilson said while showing his invention.

"Let's test it out Dr.Miles" he added.

"This will be the first trial of us using this technology and here we have our lab rat." he pointed to a woman helpless.

"This woman right here is a criminal. She stole food in the cafeteria a while ago. She is so lucky that she had a chance to be the first one to try my invention!" he introduced the lady while wearing his glasses. He smiled at the camera.

The lady was struggling as she was chained in her bed. She is screaming out loud wanting to break free.

"What's her name again?" Sam Wilson asked.

"According to this paper. Althea Phillips. She is a widow. Hmm. Oh! She works here, why would she do such a crime?" the doctor answered.

"Hey! Stop recording we will continue this later. We will show her what should be done to criminals." he laughed and then he smirked at the camera. His creations drove him crazy.

The record stopped.
