Bucky Barnes grinned as he followed his closet friend, Steve Rogers, out of the car. "This better be worth the drive, Steve." Bucky said as he followed the blonde man. Steve only laughed as he twirled the car keys in his hand. "Oh it will be. I have been wanting to show you this since I found out you were still alive." He told his friend as he led the way across the busy street. Washington DC was beautiful during this time of year. Autumn had brought the change of the color of the leaves that lined the National Mall. It was a lovely sight really, and there was a light chill in the air. Not freezing, like it was in New York, but enough to make the men wear long sleeved shirts. The two men walked down the brick lined side walk that paralleled many of the Smithsonian museums and mirrored the Capital building rather nicely. "You're dragging me to some museum aren't you?" Bucky asked with a grin and Steve chuckled again. "Maybe, but it wouldn't hurt for you to learn something, Buck." Bucky only shook his head at his friend as he was led into the Smithsonian of American History.
"You have got to be kidding me." Bucky said with a goofy grin and a shake of his head. "What? You don't like it?" Steve asked, grinning as well. The two men stood before the Captain America display at the Smithsonian museum of American History. "I wouldn't say I don't like it," Bucky replied, "It's just a bit much." He said and Steve laughed. "Did you seriously drag me all this way just to show me some stuffy exhibit all about you? That's kinda prideful, didn't think you were like that." Bucky teased and Steve began walking in to the exhibit, passing all of the fancy and glassy displays of himself posed to look like some kind of romanticized hero. "No, I didn't." Steve replied before stopping before one display and gesturing for Bucky to have a look. Bucky turned to see what Steve had dragged him all this way to see and that's when he saw it. A display dedicated to him. A dedication to 'James Buchanan Barnes'. Bucky grinned and looked down bashfully. "Lucky me." He mused before turning to Steve. "I get to be featured in Captain America's fancy Smithsonian exhibit." He said with a laugh. "Buck," Steve said as he looked from the display and then to his friend. "You're a hero. Just as much as I am." He told his friend but Bucky's expression fell at the words. "Thanks... but I'm no hero. We both know that."
The two men began exciting the museum. They walked along the same brick sidewalk and they were caught up in conversation. "So you're telling me phones do a lot more then just call people now?" Bucky asked and Steve laughed. "There's a lot you still have to learn, isn't there?" He asked and Bucky laughed with him this time. The two men were so caught up in conversation they didn't even realize that the woman walking opposite of them wasn't watching at all where she was going, she was too busy texting on her phone and reading over documents in her hands. Neither parties saw it coming and the blonde woman ran straight into Bucky Barnes. "Oh my God I am so sorry I wasn't even-" the woman began as she quickly tried to pick up the documents she had dropped. "It's okay doll." Bucky said softly as he helped her pick up the papers she had dropped. It wasn't until their eyes met that they both froze. The woman paled almost instantly and fear fell all over her features. Bucky's eyes only observed her curiously, taking in every feature as if she were the visage of a distant memory. "I know you..." he said quietly. The woman began to tremble. She didn't say anything else before snatching her papers from his hand and running off.
