Iris' POV
"You called, prof?" I asked when I opened professor Oak's door. "Oh, yeah. I was just finishing up with professor Dent," he said. I looked at our new green haired English teacher, who was also staring back at me. "So, you'll take care of it?" Oak finished. Cilan snapped out of his trance. "Eh, yeah, sure," he answered. "Alright, that's settled than! You may leave now," Oak said clapping his hands. Cilan walked to the door and stopped in front of me. "Can you move aside, please?" he asked with a bright smile. "O-oh yeah!" I said quickly stepping away. "Why did you call me?" I turned to Oak. "Yeah, how is the project going? And with that, I mean not only with you, but with everyone," he said. "And why exactly did you ask me?" I asked confused. "You seem like a trustable person, people will probably tell their secrets to you," he answered. "True, true..." I said smirking. "Well, there's not much progress. But that's mainly because I think you made the wrong pairings," I said sitting down. "What do you mean? The meaning of the project is to see if you can fall in love with somebody in three months," he said. "I think if you want to do that, you have to take two complete strangers and put them together all the time, not people that already know each other for years," I commented. "You got a point. Honestly, I was already thinking the same thing. I even thought about cancelling the project, but I'm not doing that. Everybody loves some drama, so will just continue with it," Oak said. "So, you're just using us for your entertainment!?" I said raising my voice. "Calm down! But yes. And you're not allowed to say anything about it to anyone. Remember, I have control of your grades. You may go now," he finished as he drew his attention to his laptop. What!? "B-but-!" I tried. "I said, you may leave now, Iris," he said without looking away from his laptop. "Hmpf!"
"Why did you get called to the office?" Meadow asked curiously when I sat down next to her in the canteen. "About my grades," I lied. "You really should take that extra lesson English, it'll help. I also got that for math. I was always really bad at it, and now I'm less bad!" Barry said with his mouth full. Meadow gave him a glare. "What?" he asked like he was confused, but he couldn't hide his smile. She just rolled her eyes, and she also couldn't hide her smile. I suddenly got very jealous of the two. They are perfect for each other, and I got nobody! There is no one in this school that I ever have liked romantically, even if it was just a little bit! Yeah, nobody, except Trip. And the worst thing is that I still feel something for him, though it's not much, it's still something...
"What do you have next?" I asked glancing at the time. "History with Mr. Can't Sit Still over here. You?" Meadow answered. "Music, so I guess see you later," I said as I stood up. "What do you mean Mr. Can't Sit Still!?!" Barry asked Meadow. I sighed before walking away. They never change, do they?
"Alright, everybody, sit down!" professor Elesa yelled. "Since I have nothing planned for today, you can choose a song, practise, and perform it next week. You can do it alone, together, in a group, I don't care, as long as there will be no fights!" she said. Before I could say anything, Misty grabbed my arm. "Want to join us?" she asked pointing at herself, May, Dawn and Serena. "Of course!" I immediately agreed. "Nice! Can we please use one of your songs? They're amazing!" Dawn asked me. "Eh, sure. But there not tha-" I tried, but I was interrupted. "Yes, they are! I especially love that one... what was it called again? Eh... Ugly Heart! Can we do that one?" Serena said. "Sure?" I was a bit overwhelmed with their enthusiasm. I grabbed my bag and pulled out my notebook, where I wrote the songs in. May, Dawn and Serena immediately scanned it. "It's perfect! Do you already have the instrument notes?" May asked. "Yeah, I even already sang it once with everything, want to hear it?" I asked them. "YES!" they all replied.
While we were listening, I saw Misty making some notes. "What are those?" I asked when she was finished. "Who what sings," she replies. "Let's see, Iris begins, after that is May, then we have the chorus, which we all do. After that Serena, and next is Dawn. Again, the chorus, next is me, and then Dawn and May again, followed by Iris, before the next chorus starts. Is that okay?" she asked. "Sure! Wow, you guys got this done quickly," I laughed. "Let's begin!" Dawn chirped. "Wait! The instruments?" May stopped her. "I can play practically everything on this song," I said. "I don't want to do instruments, I was thinking of a dance!" Serena answered. "What?! No way! Instruments are way more important!" Misty said. "I like the dance idea actually too," Dawn confessed. "But instruments?" I asked. "How about we do both?" May suggested. "How?" I asked her. "We record us while we're playing the instruments, and while we're singing, and dancing, we'll play that on the big screen behind us!" she said. "Wouldn't that look a bit weird?" Misty asked. "Maybe, but there's only one way to find out!" May chirped. "I'm fine with that," I said. "Yeah, me too!" Dawn answered. "Can I please do drums?" May asked. "Sure, I can play the keyboard!" Serena said. "And I can do the bass!" Dawn followed. "Iris can do the lead guitar, and I that back-up!" Misty suggested. "I'm fine with everything!" I said. "And Serena and I will do the dance choreography!" Dawn chirped.
(A/N I have no knowledge about instruments or anything, so sorry if I did it wrong ;P)
May's POV
A minute later we were all set up. We explained Elesa our idea, and she was really exited about it, plus she offered to film us. We played it the first time, and there were some small mistakes, but after about five times we got it. We thanked Elesa and for the last five minutes of the hour we practiced the parts Misty gave to us.
Iris: Maybe I'm just crazy
Maybe I'm a fool
Maybe I don't know how to love but
Maybe I do
Maybe you know more than me but
This much is true
This little heart and brain of mine say
We're through with you
May: And I wonder does it blow your mind
That I'm leaving you far behind
I wonder does it stop your heart to know
You're not my sunshine, anymore
All: Okay you're pretty
Your face is a work of art
Your smile could light up New York City after dark
Okay you're Cover boy pretty
Stamped with a beauty mark
But it's such a pity a boy so pretty
With an ugly heart
Serena: Maybe you'll get married
And she will kiss your feet
While I give all my rides away
I won't lose no sleep
Maybe on your honeymoon
You'll think of me
But if you don't won't shed a tear
Yeah, I can guarantee
Dawn: And I wonder does it blow your mind
That I'm leaving you far behind
I wonder does it stop your heart to know
You're not my sunshine, anymore
All: Okay you're pretty
Your face is a work of art
Your smile could light up New York City after dark
Okay you're Cover boy pretty
Stamped with a beauty mark
But it's such a pity a boy so pretty
With an ugly heart
Misty: Okay you're pretty
Your face is a work of art
Your smile could probably light up New York after dark
Okay you're Cover boy pretty
Stamped with a beauty mark
But it's such a pity
A boy so pretty
Dawn: With an uh- an uh- an ugly heart
May + Dawn: An uh- an uh- an ugly heart
Iris: So-o
All: Okay you're pretty
Your face is a work of art
Your smile could light up New York City after dark
Okay you're Cover boy pretty
Stamped with a beauty mark
But it's such a pity a boy so pretty
With an ugly heart
All: Okay you're pretty
Your face is a work of art
Your smile could light up New York City after dark
Okay you're Cover boy pretty
Stamped with a beauty mark
But it's such a pity a boy so pretty
(So pretty, so pretty) With an ugly heart
As soon as we finished the last sentence, Ash, Gary, Drew and Paul came walking towards us. "Ah, did we miss the show?" Gary asked teasingly. "Sorry, but you'll have to wait till next week," I answered him. "A whole week!? Oh dear, I don't know if I can survive that long!" Gary said as he posed dramatically. I unknowingly giggled. Suddenly Gary fell to the ground. "Wha-?" I asked confused, but then I saw Drew standing behind him with a blank face and his fist forward. "Was that necessary!?" Gary yelled from the ground. "Absolutely," he answered flipping his hair. "Can we go? I'm hungry!" Ash whined. "When aren't you? But sure," Drew answered. "Wait, I'm not finished talking to my favourite girls!" Gary said, still on the ground. "Have you noticed Leaf isn't here?" Misty asked him. "Let's go!" Gary yelled as he jumped up. Drew just sighed and put his hands in his pockets. "See you, January," he said turning around. I couldn't see his face, but I could smell he was smirking. I felt my eye twitching but "My name is MAY!" I yelled after him. "Guys, shouldn't we walk with the girls, because of the project?" They stood by the door. "Why? It's not like somebody is watching us," Drew answered. "But it was my perfect excuse for holding Misty's hand," Ash said. "We can hear you! Idiot!" Misty yelled at him. "Oh," he yelled back, with a stupid grin on his face. I rolled my eyes.
After school Meadow walked with me to my locker, since we had the last hour together. "So, how's life?" she asked me. "Nothing special. I'm just glad that I don't have to hold Gary's sweaty hand all the time anymore," I answered laughing. "What do you mean? Did Oak cancel the project?" she asked confused. "No, but Gary and I agreed to just hold hands when Oak was near. Some other couples did the same. Nobody told you?" I asked her. "Wha- So I've been holding Barry's hand for nothing!?" she almost screamed. "Actually not, because it's still a rule. But you could've avoided it, yeah," I giggled. "I want a lolly," she said grumpy. "A lolly?" I asked confused. "Yeah, a lollipop," she said. "I knew that, it was just bit random. Why do you want one?" I asked rolling my eyes. "Because I want one," she answered. I decided to not ask anymore. She looked just like a child, standing next to my locker. She was short, and short-tempered, and had her hair always in a ponytail, so you could see her round cheeks. "What are you looking at?" she suddenly asked. "Eh, nothing," I quickly said closing my locker. Misty walked to us. "Are you guys ready to leave this awful place?" she asked. "Yeah, I was just finished," I answered. "Hey, is it okay if I walk back with you guys?" a voice behind me asked. I turned around and saw Melody. "Yeah, sure," Meadow immediately answered. I gave her a smile, which she surprisingly returned. "Hey, wait up for us!" Moon and Mallow ran to us. We walked outside and started to walk back to the 'house'. It was silent for a while, before Melody started bursting out in laughter. I looked at her confused. "Do you realise how weird this is? I don't think I've ever said a personal word to you, and now we're walking back like it's the most normal thing in the world," she said still laughing. Next Moon also started laughing, and soon we we're all laughing. When we finally stopped laughing, we were all silent and looked at each other, before bursting out in laughter again. We didn't even have a reason to laugh, we just did. As soon we were really finished laughing, Mallow spoke up. "Hey, have you guy's noticed all of our names start with a M?" she asked. It took me a while before reacting. "Yeah! We could call ourselves the M-squad!" I said, as a joke. "Or the M&M's!" Mallow laughed. "Ooh, I like that name!" Misty said. "Yeah, let's do that!" Moon agreed laughing. We walked back the rest of the way happily talking to each other. We forgot about the things Melody did for a second, and she was actually really nice. When we got back, Misty spoke up. "Hey, does anybody want to grab a drink somewhere?" she suggested. Everybody happily agreed, but Melody suddenly backed up a bit. "E-eh, I'm sorry, I got homework to do. Maybe next time?" she said apologizing. "Really? Can't that wait for a bit?" Moon asked her. "I'm sorry, I really need to finish this," she apologized again before rushing inside.
"Don't you guys think she acted a bit weird?" Mallow asked when we sat down. "Yeah, the first moment she's really nice, and then she just backed away," I said sipping my drink. "Well, this is the nicest I've ever seen her, I didn't even know she could be so funny," Meadow replied. I giggled. "Yeah. But I wonder what made her change her mind, when we asked her to come. No way she's not coming because of homework," I said. "Yeah, me too..." Moon said. We were silent for a while. "You know, she may haven't been always nice to us, but... we didn't really gave her a chance to... from the beginning we've kinda ignored her," Misty started. "I think we should give her a second chance, and not just us, but the whole class," Misty suggested. "And Brianna too," Meadow said. "Brianna is actually really nice, you know? She's just a bit two faced..." I said to them. "True, that's mostly because of Drew," Misty agreed. "Let's do that, give them a second chance. I had actually a great time, walking back with you guys," Moon said. "Yeah, me too!" I agreed.
Kenny's POV
"See ya later, DeeDee," I said waving off. "Hey! Don't call me DeeDee!" she yelled after me. When I walked around the corner, I sighed deep. "You okay dude?" Barry asked me. "That girl is driving me crazy!" I said frustrated. "Come on, man. She's got a boyfriend. You got to move on sometime!" he said. "I know! I know... but it's easier said than done," I sighed. "Come on! Let's get Dawn out of your mind!" Barry said pulling me along. "Where are we going?" I asked confused.
"The mall?" I asked when he stopped in front of the entrance. "Yup!" he said proudly. "I'm not a big fan of shopping," I answered. "Oh, but we're not here because of that! I'm gonna beat you at every game at the game hall!" he said determined. "Ha! You wish!" I answered. "Why don't we start right away? RACE YA!" he yelled. "Hey! No fair!" I yelled after him, laughing.
"I'm sure you cheated!" I said to Barry. "No way! I'm just awesome, that's the only explanation," he laughed wearing the ridiculous heart-formed sunglasses he just bought on his head. "What time is it?" I asked Barry. "Six o'clo - OH CRAP MEADOW'S GONNA KILL ME!" he yelled. "What? Why?" I asked confused. "We got cooking shift!" he yelled stressed. "Again?" I asked confused. "Yeah, we changed our cleaning shift with Gary and May, since they suck at it," he responded. "Like you two don't," I whispered under my breath. "Hey! I gave Meadow a cooking book, remember?" he said. "Oh yeah, with the bad pick-up lines," I said wiggling my eyebrows. "They weren't that bad!" Barry answered. "Whatever you say," I laughed. He rolled his eyes. "Say, shouldn't you hurry up?" I asked him. "Nah, she's gonna kill me already, and I don't feel like cooking," he shrugged.
Barry's POV
I carefully walked to the kitchen, prepared for a furious Meadow. But surprisingly, the kitchen was empty. "Hm?" I said confused. I walked further to the living room, where I saw Meadow sitting on the couch with a book. "What are you doing?" I asked confused. "What does it looks like?" she answered sarcastically. "I mean, why aren't you mad at me?" I asked rolling my eyes. "Why would I be mad at you this time? Oh no, what did you do?!" she asked suddenly scared. "I'm late?" I said raising my eyebrows. "For what...?" she asked, realising she forgot something. "We have cooking shift," I said. "No... that's tomorrow, right?" she asked confused. "No, today," I said, not really sure anymore. She put down her book and ran to the schedule. "Oooh crap! It is today!" she yelled. "What's wrong?" Ash asked us. "Eh... we kinda forgot we needed to cook today..." I said scratching my neck. "What!? I'm hungry!" he whined. "You always are," Meadow responded. "So eh... Pizza?" I asked Meadow. "But I wanted to try a recipe from the book you gave me," she said. "That'll take too long," I tried. "Please???" she asked putting up puppy-eyes. I groaned. "Fine! But please don't do that ever again!" I answered. "Yay!" she cheered giving me a quick hug, before running of to grab the book. I'm weak.
We were standing in the kitchen looking for a dish we could make. "Oh, by the way, what do you think of my new sunglasses?" I asked Meadow putting them on. "Stupid," she answered without looking away from the text in front of her. "You didn't even look!" I said. "I don't need to," she answered. "So you don't think they look good on me?" I tried again. "I think you look like an idiot," she answered. "A pretty idiot?" I asked. "Maybe," she answered, but I could see a smile on her face. "What about this one?" she asked pointing to the page in front of her. I read the text over her shoulder, when I heard a weird noise coming from Meadow. "What was that?" I asked laughing. "Your face is too close," she said with her eyes closed. I saw a blush on her face, and realised my face was getting red as well. "Oh, eh, I-I'm sorry," I said stepping away. "But yeah, let's make that one," I answered to her question. The rest of the time she didn't look at me, until she returned from telling everyone dinner's ready. She gave me a bright smile, and that was it. Man, girls are confusing.
Meh... I have no idea what I was doing this chapter... I mean, I have an idea for next chapter... it just doesn't make really sense... eh I don't care I'm gonna do it anyway
