Dawn's POV
As we were walking to the ruins, I was listening to other's conversations. "Why didn't you want to go here?" I heard Drew ask May. "It's cold, and wet, and I heard there were ghosts!" she answered dramatically. "Really? Ghosts?" Drew asked raising his eyebrow. "What? They're scary," May replied. "Sure," Drew rolled his eyes. "What? Aren't you afraid?" May asked. "Of course not," Drew said, flipping his purple hair. He immediately cringed. "Awful colour," he mumbled.
"We're here," Leaf announced, as she stopped walking. "Wait! Before we enter, I heard your conversation, May and Drew, and I have to say, yes, there are ghosts here," she continued. "Don't worry Leafy, Gary is here to protect you," Gary said putting his arm around her shoulder. "Wait, are Pokémon even allowed to go here?" I heard Paul ask next to me. "Yeah. They aren't when the Tapu is here, though. But I heard that the Tapu was caught by this one kid recently," Leaf shrugged. "Meadow, weren't you afraid of ghosts?" Iris asked with a smirk. "What? Pfft! No way! I'd never be afraid of such thi-" her sentence was interrupted weird sound, supposed to be a scream, coming out of her mouth. "BARRY! NOT FUNNY!" she yelled at the guy who scared her. "I thought it was," he said with a grin. She just pouted in response.
"But if you got scared by that, should you even go to the ruins?" he continued. "I wasn't scared. Just a bit startled," Meadow responded. "Sure. I don't think you can last even five minutes in there," he said. "Wanna bet?" Meadow asked with a daring look in her eyes. "Okay. The first one of us that is scared loses," Barry responded. "Bring it on."
"Let's just enter," Calum said, interrupting the conversation.
Leaf and Gary walked at the front of the row, followed by me and Paul. Behind us were May and Drew walking in silence, probably since May didn't know if she should laugh about Drew's hair or be scared of the 'ghosts'. I still doubted that there were any. Leaf probably just wanted to scare everyone. Behind them walked Ash and Misty, followed by Brendan, Calum and Iris. The line was closed by Meadow and Barry, who were having a glaring contest. Leaf, Calum and Barry were holding a torch for light.
Suddenly Leaf stopped walking. "We're here," she announced. "Wow," I said amazed. It was beautiful. The ground was wet, and sometimes a drop of water would fall. Normally, I would've hated that, but this time it felt differently. "What now?" Ash asked. "I don't really know. Since the Tapu isn't here," Leaf said sweat dropping.
Cold air suddenly swept through my hair and put out the fire.
"What was that!?"
"AAAAAAAH!"
"Gary. Get off me."
"Sorry, miss."
"Paul? Where are you?"
"Here."
"I can't see anything."
"No sh*t sherlock. Jeez, Ash, if you got even slower you'd be a slowpoke!"
"What just touched me!?"
"Calm down Meadow, that was me."
"Annoying brat."
"WHAT DID YOU CALL ME?!"
"Guys! Not the time!"
It was silent for a while. I was about to open my mouth again, but before I could say anything, a loud, heavy scream was heard.
"Gary! Stop that!"
"That wasn't me."
"He's not lying, his voice is too high."
"Then who was it?"
"If it was Barry, I win."
"It wasn't me!"
"Brendan or Calum?"
"No, we're in the back. It came from the front."
"Ash's voice is too high for that scream as well."
"Wait..."
Silence.
"Pau-"
"If anyone ever says a word about this you are all dead."
Silence.
"Something touched me," Paul whispered, as an explanation why he screamed.
A smile appeared on my face. He is so adorable when he's flustered! I sadly can't see his face, but I can imagine it.
"Can we please leave?"
"Oh! Are we scared, Meadow?"
"Hell no! It's just no use staying here if we can't see anything."
"She's got a point. Let's go."
"I can't see the exit."
"It's weird. Normally your eyes would get used to the darkness," Leaf pointed out.
"Unless there's no where light to be seen," Drew responded.
"But there should be. From the entrance," Leaf said with a slight panic coming from her voice.
"Guys... Bad news..." Ash spoke up.
"What?"
"The exit is blocked."
"WHAT!?"
"GARY! Get off me!"
"Wait! Where's Iris!?" Meadow asked.
"I haven't heard anything about Brendan and Calum for a while either," May replied.
"Dammit. They have locked us in!" Meadow said under her breath, but since no one was talking they all heard it.
"Why would they do that?" Misty questioned.
"Iris enjoys that kinda stuff. Scaring me is one of her favourite hobbies."
"So you are scared!"
"I didn't say that!"
"Can you please stop for a minute!? Ash, with what is it blocked?" Misty asked him.
"I don't know. A big boulder maybe?"
"Maybe is we push all together, we can move it?" May asked.
"Not the best idea, but we could try it." Drew responded.
"Oh yeah!? I'd like to see you come up with a better idea!"
"I said that we could try it."
"Well, what are you waiting for?"
We all made carefully our way to the exit.
"Ouch! Someone hit my head!"
"Sorry, that was me."
"Is everyone ready?"
"Yeah."
"Okay! On three! One. Two. Three!"
We gathered our strength and pushed against the bolder. After a few seconds, it slightly moved back, revealing some light.
"Awesome!"
"At least I can see something again."
I turned around, looking for Paul, when I saw him staring at something behind us. I followed his gaze.
"M-Meadow?"
"What?"
"Behind... behind you!"
AN UPDATE! HOORAY! It's been two months and two days since the last one... Woops...
Anyways, sorry if this chapter is confusing. I don't really have a good reason for not saying who says what. I just like it this way more. You figure out. And you can always ask me if you want to know too.
