xiii. project threesome

as a reminder, lee minjun is jungkook, which is how jimin refers to him as here.

Jimin knew tonight was the night he would break Minjun's heart.

It had been a fun two weeks, Jimin couldn't lie. In fact, Minjun had been the one that he'd enjoyed playing around with the most. Minjun had gone from someone who was sullen and moping over his ex-boyfriend to someone like him— a mistake, but how could Jimin blame him? Jimin had made sure to give him everything that he could want from someone. He'd shown Minjun that there was more to life than that ex, making sure that he slowly became Minjun's priority, and it had worked. He had seen the way that Minjun had started to look at him. It wasn't hard to notice.

Slowly, those bunny boy's eyes had started focusing on Jimin more, enough so that Jimin could tell that Minjun was looking for something more from him. They'd exchanged kisses a couple of times, but it had only been through Jimin's willingness and forwardness. The boy hadn't once initiated contact with Jimin, mostly because he was too shy too— Jimin could see it in Minjun's hesitancy every time he stayed over Jimin's penthouse.

For a good reason, too, Jimin knew. Minjun was a heartbroken fellow, but that didn't mean that he wasn't suspicious of Jimin's intentions. There had been many times when Jimin had caught Minjun snooping around his private belongings, almost as if he were trying to piece Jimin's personal life together. Jimin hadn't once confronted Minjun about it, but it made one thing clear.

Lee Minjun was attracted to him.

As Jimin straddled the younger's lap, he smiled, leaving a trail of feverish kisses down Minjun's lips. Minjun squeezed Jimin's waist, grinding against him as he threw his head back, letting out a soft sigh of pleasure as Jimin greedily ran his fingers down Minjun's shirt, pausing momentarily for permission to take it off. Minjun raised his arms, and in one swift motion, Jimin flung the shirt over Minjun's head, latching his lips onto his once more.

"I'm glad you could make it, Jun," Jimin breathed, as his fingers hovered Minjun's pants. "Tonight's been a shit night."

Minjun hummed at the words, his hazel eyes piercing Jimin's with lust. "The dinner you went to wasn't good?"

Jimin plastered a fake smile. "You weren't there. It automatically makes the place I'm at a complete shit show. You'll understand if you ever get into the business life. However, I wouldn't suggest it. It makes finding love a lot harder."

"And is that what we have, Jimin?" Minjun whispered, tucking Jimin's hair behind his ear. Yet another fake smile graced Jimin's lips as his hands moved to caress Minjun's cheeks. He couldn't help but feel himself course with glee at the vulnerability of the question. If Jimin had doubts before, they had all disappeared now.

Lee Minjun was one hundred percent head over heels for Jimin.

Maybe that's why it didn't work with his ex, Jimin thought to himself as his lips wandered over Minjun's slim figure. He fell too easily, and maybe his ex-lover couldn't feel and love him the same way that Minjun did.

It was a bitter feeling, but a triumphant one all the same. Having someone like Minjun at his beck and call had proved useful for Jimin. He almost felt bad that he was going to end up breaking Minjun's heart once more. Minjun had become someone that Jimin had gone from trying to trap to someone Jimin had grown fond of. It wasn't something that Jimin could say he was necessarily proud of, knowing that in a few minutes Namjoon would barge in, feign hurt before Jimin would return dutifully to his side, placing his arms on Namjoon possessively before letting Minjun know that all Jimin had done was purposefully fuck around with his emotions.

Then he'd see the satisfying shattered look in Minjun's face, the biggest reward of them all.

"What we have, Minjun," Jimin responded softly, caressing Minjun's cheek, "Is something that not even the movies hold. A romance of today's century. One that transcends everything."

Jimin loved the way Minjun hung on to his every word. It was as if Jimin were preaching a sermon, and Minjun was the listener, drinking in every word as if were his religion as if it were words that would bring him salvation into this world. Jimin could almost laugh at how pathetic Minjun looked at the moment.

In ways, Minjun reminded him of a child— pure, innocent, naive, and lost. Though Jimin knew that Minjun revolved around sexual activities, making him the opposite of pure, but in essence, there was nothing more than Minjun wanted than to be loved and accepted. Jimin could feel it with the way Minjun had picked him up, the sensation as Minjun slowly set him on the bed. Minjun was someone that, despite his sexual desires, gave love and affection the most. Such love was pure and innocent, and unfortunately for Minjun, he'd been desperately looking for that same pure, special love in people he shouldn't have.

Minjun truly was a bizarre individual, Jimin chuckled to himself as he threaded his fingers through Minjun's hair. A beautiful, odd individual.

"What the fuck?"

At the voice, Jimin bit his lip. Just like he had been counting down in his head, Namjoon had burst into the room, rage in his tone as he caught the eye of Jimin and Minjun two seconds away from fucking. Jimin feigned surprise, and he pushed Minjun down, sitting upright as he looked at Namjoon almost fearfully.

"Namjoon, I—"

Surprisingly, Minjun remained silent, staring impassively at Namjoon. The reaction set Jimin back a bit. Usually, once discovered, a cheater would either become all high and mighty, point to Namjoon in confusion, or both. Yet, Minjun had remained silent, only arching an eyebrow at Namjoon bursting into the room, almost as if he wasn't surprised.

"I was wondering when you'd show up," Minjun clicked his tongue, shaking his head in amusement. "I was beginning to think that you had found someone while Jimin was still playing around with me. Guess I was wrong, huh?"

"Wait, Jun, what?"

Jimin couldn't keep the shock in his voice as he stared at Minjun wide-eyed. Minjun chuckled, running his fingers over Jimin's hair affectionately.

"You have such a way with words, Jimin, did you know that?" Minjun asked, looking at him thoughtfully. "No wonder you've broken so many people's hearts."

What is happening?

"I know you've seen me looking through your things, Jimin," Minjun looked back at Namjoon. "I know what you two do to unsuspecting people. One of you brings them to your bed, makes them feel loved, and then the other swoops in before you both deliver the final blow. It isn't a secret, you know."

But if Minjun had known everything that Jimin and Namjoon did, why the hell would he set himself up for that?

"Doesn't feel that nice, right?" Minjun spoke quietly. "When you're the one being tricked. I knew it would take a while, but hey, look at where we are now. Your boyfriend, standing at the doorway, feigning anger, while you're here, Jimin, next to me, pretending to look surprised. Have to admit, you two are amazing actors. How long have you been breaking innocent's hearts like this?"

Namjoon was the first one to react. He closed the door, his expression turning cold and deadly the longer that he stared at Minjun. Meanwhile, Minjun's expression held nothing but triumph, triumph, and glee that Jimin was looking forward to feeling. All Jimin felt now was confusion.

Just how much was Minjun hiding?

"What do you want?" Namjoon asked, crossing his arms. "If you did this, there's an ulterior motive."

Minjun smirked, making a popping sound with his lips. "Always knew you were the smart one, Namjoon. You know, it was fun pretending to be moping around for an ex-boyfriend that didn't exist. I showed that one off pretty well, don't you think, Jimin?"

Jimin couldn't say anything. At his silence, Minjun continued.

"I've been watching you two for a while now," Minjun said, gazes going from each businessman. "Known about you two for a long while. I didn't know who I wanted to approach first. Conveniently, I bumped into Jimin, so in a spur of the moment, I decided to use my charms on him."

"Do you want money?" Namjoon cut in. "if that's what you want—"

"I don't want your money, Namjoon," Minjun was quick to interrupt him. "I could care less about how much wealth you two have. What I wanted was a chance."

Jimin's eyebrows furrowed, and he found himself speaking for the first time. "A chance at what?"

"Have you two ever thought about having someone else?" Minjun asked. "Permanently?"

"You want to be in a relationship with us?" Namjoon questioned, staring at that Minjun in disbelief. "You did all this so that we could have your attention."

Minjun shrugged. "How else was I supposed to get your attention? How else was I supposed to have you remember my name? You two look for people to break, so the only way I could try to pursue you was through playing your games."

Playing your games.

Of course.

Jimin had to admit, Minjun was far more cunning than he'd given him credit for. All the while, he thought that Minjun was someone that was helpless, someone that desperately wanted to be saved. It turns out, Jimin's savior complex had gotten into his head, and now the roles had been reversed. Jimin thought he had power, but as it turned out, it was Minjun who had figured out how to get Namjoon had his attention.

Someone like Minjun was far more intriguing than any other people Jimin and Namjoon had scouted out, and Jimin loved it.

"You have an odd way of showing interest," Namjoon shook his head, expression now amused.

"What better way to show my interest by making me unforgettable?" Minjun smiled lazily, leaning into Jimin's bed. "I can see it in your eyes, Namjoon. You're more than interested in me. I know Jimin is too."

Minjun was openly confident. He had never once met Namjoon, nor had Namjoon met him. The only information that Namjoon knew about Minjun was everything that Jimin had told him. Other than that, Minjun and Namjoon were complete strangers. Yet, that was doing nothing to stop Minjun.

"If you were trying to cause me heartbreak, Jun," Jimin stated, looking at Minjun coldly. "You weren't going to get it, just know that."

Minjun burst into laughter, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Trust me, Jimin, if I wanted to break your heart, I would have left this place a long time ago. Do you normally fall for the people you're supposed to break?"

Jimin scoffed. "You think I'd like someone like you?"

Minjun smiled brazenly. "No, Jimin, I know you'd like someone like me."

Checkmate.

Jungkook knew that with that statement, he had successfully managed to capture Namjoon and Jimin's attention. He knew that it would be a gamble to be upfront about it. While it wasn't the whole truth, Jungkook knew that the only way he'd be taken seriously by people like Namjoon and Jimin was to play them to showcase what he was capable of. He wasn't going to give them the whole truth.

The truth was, Jungkook knew everything about Kim Namjoon and Park Jimin. If he were willing to bet, Jungkook fathomed he knew more about the couple than what the couple knew about themselves.

It would make it that much easier for the killing, which he'd do one at a time.

Jimin was already on his way to falling in love with Jungkook. Even if Jimin didn't want to admit it, Jungkook could tell. Jungkook was a registered Heartbreaker. How could he not know when someone was falling for him? Namjoon hadn't had the luxury of meeting Jungkook, but, Jungkook would make sure that Namjoon's life from then to his death would be unforgettable.

There was only one person that had his heart, and that person was Min Yoongi.

Everyone else was collateral damage, including Park Jimin himself.

"Show me what you're made of, Lee Minjun."

And as Namjoon tentatively pressed his lips against Jungkook's, the younger could help but smile.

If you knew what I was truly made of, Kim Namjoon, you would be steering as far away from me as possible.
