iii. project lenocinium
yoongi will be referred to as jihoon by hoseok and company. when i write in yoongi's pov, he will be referred to as yoongi. just a heads up to prevent potential confusion.
Yoongi didn't think it was going to be that easy to have Jung Hoseok wrapped around his finger.
Perhaps he underestimated his abilities too much.
Still, Yoongi couldn't be too cocky. It only looked like Hoseok had taken an interest in him. He had been watching Hoseok all night, and Yoongi was quick to notice that despite Hoseok's eyes lingering at both men and women alike, no one caught his attention for more than a few seconds. Strangely enough, he looked pensive as he sat with Seokjin— Taehyung's target, looking as if Hoseok weren't enjoying himself the way he was supposed to.
Yoongi wondered what Hoseok had been thinking.
He let Hoseok lead him into one of the rooms upstairs, pushing apart the crowd, almost forcefully as others tried to get Hoseok's attention. Yoongi made sure to stick close to Hoseok, occasionally brushing his fingers across Hoseok's, watching Hoseok's lips quirk slightly up at the gestures. He'd even gone as far as leaned into Hoseok— not too much, but enough so that Hoseok would get the hint that Yoongi was interested in him.
Or at least make it seem like he did.
"When building this place, my friend made multiple rooms downstairs and upstairs." Hoseok took out a key from his pocket. "Downstairs rooms can be used by everyone. The upstairs rooms are for specific people." He unlocked the door. "This one's mine."
"Ah, you must be special," Yoongi mused, trying to sound surprised. He wasn't supposed to know anything about Hoseok. To Hoseok, Yoongi was a stranger, so Yoongi had to pretend that it was the same for him— that he hadn't gotten a file telling him everything he had to know about Hoseok.
"Mm, something like that," Hoseok half-smiled, opening the door. He gestured to Yoongi. "Come on."
Yoongi walked inside the room, eyebrow arching at the vibrance of it. He wasn't expecting less than extravagant, considering that Hoseok and his friends were from high places. He almost felt bad stepping onto the pristine white marbled floor, squinting slightly at the iridescent lights that gave off a shimmer of varying colors. This place was beautiful, complete with a vanity mirror, a big closet, a mini-refrigerator, and a bed.
"Jimin wanted to be a bit extra with the place," Hoseok closed the door behind them. Yoongi didn't miss the locking of the door, though he feigned ignorance of it— continuing to pretend to be awestruck by the room.
"Your friend did an amazing job with this place," Yoongi remarked, confidently making his way to the bed. Hoseok only watched Yoongi's actions, faint amusement on his features. Yoongi sank into the corner of the bed, a small sigh escaping his lips. "The bed's nice."
"Nothing but the best for friends." Hoseok shrugged. "I'd do the same for them. Here. Shirt."
Yoongi caught the shirt that Hoseok threw at him with ease. "Thank you."
"No problem." Hoseok smiled, "It was my fault that your shirt stained. Least I could do. I'll turn around."
A mischievous smirk appeared on Yoongi's lips. "The view's great. It would be a shame if you missed it because you decided to be a gentleman Hoseok."
At the tensing of Hoseok's shoulders at the statement, Yoongi made a mental note to himself. It was easy to get on Hoseok's nerves— all Yoongi had to do was act cocky and flirtatious. Knowing that would be useful for the future.
After all, if Yoongi did his job right, Hoseok wouldn't be able to get enough of him.
Yoongi slowly unbuttoned his shirt, fiddling every so often with the buttons to make it excruciatingly painful for Hoseok. Hoseok had turned back around per Yoongi's suggestion, his frame leaning against the wall. Yoongi could have sworn Hoseok's eyes had begun to darken, biting his bottom lip unconsciously. Yoongi suppressed the shiver threatening to run through his body as he slipped off the shirt completely, feeling the cold, frigid air hit him.
"You could have helped." Yoongi almost scoffed. "Why'd you just stand there?"
"Didn't seem like you needed help." Hoseok began to smirk. "Besides, you told me to enjoy the view. Are you trying to tempt me?"
More than that, Yoongi thought to himself, though he said something different.
"Do you believe in fate, Hoseok?"
Hoseok's eyebrows furrowed at the question. Did he believe in fate? Hoseok couldn't give Jihoon a straightforward answer. The construct of fate was something that he felt to be fictitious, but even he couldn't deny that some events felt like they were meant to happen. Still, to fully believe in something as superstitious as fate, it wasn't something that Hoseok could make himself say. It would mean he'd have to acknowledge that other entities existed— entities like God.
"I don't." Hoseok finally answered. "Do you, Jihoon?"
Jihoon pressed his lips together slightly. "I believe things happen for a reason. Is that fate? Destiny? Perhaps. But why leave to fate, events you can make on your own?"
Hoseok smiled softly. "Leaving things up to something unknown doesn't sound very efficient, does it?"
As Jihoon stood up, Hoseok realized that Jihoon had never bothered to put on the shirt Hoseok gave him. Jihoon walked up to him, an unmistakable glint in his eyes. Hoseok resisted the urge to look down, forcing himself to meet Jihoon's gaze. He was coy and straightforward, Hoseok had to admit it. Part of him couldn't help but be drawn to Jihoon, while the other part couldn't help but be wary of his presence.
There was something odd about Choi Jihoon.
"A penny for your thoughts?" Jihoon whispered in Hoseok's ear. Drawing him back to the present, Hoseok realized that there was little space between the two. He hadn't registered Jihoon's proximity. Jihoon eyed him slightly, an expression of concern lighting his face. "This too close for you?"
Hoseok shook his head. "You just caught me off guard, that's all. It's not often that someone comes up to me like this."
"Oh?" Jihoon raised an eyebrow. "Guess I'll have to change that for you."
Jihoon closed the gap between them, his lips connecting with Hoseok's leaving him stunned once more. Hoseok's eyes fluttered closed as Jihoon's lips moved against his own, testing the waters. All rational thought left Hoseok's mind as his fingers found themselves entangled in Jihoon's hair, pulling at every so often.
The simple kiss quickly escalated into a fight between the two. Hoseok caught on quickly that Jihoon wasn't just all talk. Not that Hoseok minded, it would make overpowering Jihoon a bit more fun. Jihoon wouldn't be as easy as the others before Hoseok had messed around with. Well, except for Rose, but that was a whole other story, a story that wasn't important at this moment.
"Is that all you got?" Hoseok smirked. Jihoon grinned, his fingers grabbing Hoseok's belt loops.
"Trust me, baby, I'm just getting started."
🥀
Jungkook sighed as he sat comfortably on the lounging chairs, trying not to let his emotions get the better of him. He had seen Yoongi disappear with Hoseok. He knew it was part of the job, but it still bugged him slightly seeing Yoongi messing around with others. He couldn't help it.
He was in love with him, after all.
Yoongi hadn't gotten to him at first, but after working together on so many missions, Jungkook had found himself slowly falling for Yoongi. It didn't help that he and Yoongi had begun hooking up as the years passed, though nothing escalated farther from friends with benefits. Yoongi preferred it that way.
"No strings attached." Yoongi had said. "No feelings. I wouldn't want you falling in love with me, Jungkook. That wouldn't bode well for either of us."
Even with all the warnings, Jungkook had still managed to fall for him.
"At least this gives me an excuse to drink," Jungkook mumbled, downing glass after glass after glass. This was part of the plan. He was supposed to get incredibly wasted, considering his first target was more of a humanitarian.
Jungkook had decided to go after Park Jimin first. He had already seen Kim Namjoon disappear with a chick into a room downstairs, which meant there would be no way for Jungkook to cross paths with him. Park Jimin, however, being the owner of Lenocinium, had to be out monitoring the place. He was the easiest target for now.
Park Jimin's file had surprised him. Considering his looks, Jungkook would have expected Jimin to be someone who flirted their way to get into someone's pants. He'd expected Jimin to be the one that acted coy, the one that conjured false promises and sweet nothings. No, Park Jimin was the exact opposite of that.
He was kind, considerate. He appealed to others by being caring, showing concern for them. Warmhearted, showering his victims with love and affection before showing his true colors. He'd care for them, from the littlest of needs, offer his shoulder to those who needed. A real humanitarian, the perfect man.
It hurt his victims worse, after all, to know that the one that had their back turned out to be the type of person they'd been scared of.
"You're going to blackout at this rate."
There he is.
Jungkook looked up slowly, his tired hazel eyes meeting Park Jimin's. Jimin sat down next to him, eyebrows furrowed in worry. He placed a hand on Jungkook's shoulder. Jungkook flinched slightly at the touch, making it obvious that he felt distrustful towards Jimin.
"Are you okay?" Jimin asked. "I've heard it helps to talk to a stranger."
Jungkook smiled wanly at Jimin. "Can a stranger fix my love life? No matter where I look all I see is my stupid ex."
Park Jimin's favorite victims were those who had gotten their heart broken. Those with severe trust issues towards romance. So, Jungkook's background would fit perfectly well with Jimin's tastes.
"Your ex?"
"Yeah," Jungkook scoffed. "Can you believe after four years, I find him cheating on me with another man? Four years. Four fucking years and all of it meant nothing to him. Now, everywhere I look, all I see is him. My friends told me it was a good idea to come here. They've found others to hang with and now I'm here."
"You've got shitty friends," Jimin commented. Jungkook scoffed.
"Tell me about it." Jungkook murmured, downing another glass.
"I'll keep you company. Though, you really should stop drinking. You could pass out." Jimin settled permanently into the seat, signaling to the bartender. "Scotch. Neat."
"You don't have to keep me company," Jungkook mumbled, keeping his gaze downwards.
"I want to," Jimin responded with ease. "You deserve to have someone to keep you company. This is a nightclub. You should be having fun, not crying your heart out, and drinking for someone who obviously doesn't care for you."
Jungkook only nodded, wiping the fake tears he had streaming down his face. "I look pathetic, don't I?"
"Nonsense." Jimin smiled warmly. "It's only natural for you to cry for those who broke you. No judgment here. I'm Jimin. Park Jimin. You are?"
"Minjun." Jungkook whispered, offering Jimin a tired smile. "Lee Minjun."
