Alec opened his eyes, gasping for air. He had just woken up from a nightmare about Kelsey. Because they shared an empathic link, that happened more on occasion than a normal dream. He brushed back his dark Raven hair and sighed. His long, slender fingers gripped at the black sheets. "Kelsey, no." He growled, throwing the covers off and running to his closet. He threw on his leather jacket and was out the door. He let out an inhuman growl as his fingers and arms extended to become leathery wings. In seconds, Alec was a Riptide Blazer, a rare dragoon species that was almost extinct. His body and head was a dark scarlet color, as his wings were black with blue lines. His lithe eyes were the color of lilacs, beautiful and dangerous. Alec took off into the air, bending tree tops with his powerful air. He became focused, diving and cascading faster, then swooping up. The dragoon went fast, flying to his destination.

Hold on Kelsey. I'm almost there.

"Alec! Help!" The young girl screamed. She wobbled on the cracking ice, tears streaming down her face. The unstoppable girl was now quivering, crying in fear. The cracks became more visible, and louder.

"Hold on Kelsey! I'm coming!" The younger Alec yelled, stepping carefully. He watched Kelsey, never taking his eyes off her. This was giving him anxiety. He couldn't let the young princess fall. Not now, not ever. "Princess, slowly come towards me. Waltz. Just like practice." He smiled charmingly at her. To try and calm her down.

Kelsey looked up at him. Her entire body trembled in fear as the small princess slowly waltzed towards him, taking very small steps. "Alec-!" She screamed as the ice imploded under her. But as she opened her eyes, she realized she was safe on land, in Alec's arms. That was the day Alec discovered he was a dragoon, an ancient guardian species that protects the royal bloodline. That was the day his fate was decided.

Alec snapped out of his flashback. He missed the old days. The days of fun and childhood innocence. The princess had grown into a fine woman, stunning to look at and fascinating to talk too.

He curved his lips, laughing mentally. He always had the dream of marrying the princess, as the ancient Dragoonians did. But Kelsey was different, as everyone could tell. She was... Special. And would never choose him. Never.

Alec snapped out of his daze as he almost crashed into a tree. He swerved to avoid it as the castle of A'dania came into view.

What am I thinking.. It'll never happen.. I should focus on the task at hand.

He landed on her balcony and pushed open the doors forcefully. Seeing the empty room, he growled and proceeded to search the castle. Coming up empty, he let out a frustrated yell and took to the air again, this time only using wings instead of a full dragon form.

Damn it, Kelsey.. What happened this time? Lunar soldiers? Anti-Rays? Crazy hobos? Ugh.. If I lose you.. I would have to die too.. So think of me..

He closed his eyes and focused, trying to find her presence. He felt a flair of it, in a cavern that was so far under the earth he stood upon, it was almost untraceable. Sadly, he knew what lay in that cavern.

Damnitdamnitdamnit! I can't get her like this.. She's still alive.. But if I rush in,, she's definitely dead! I have to gather help.. Gods.. Why this..

Don't worry, Princess... I will definitely rescue you..
