OVERVIEW:

This story focuses on Jason Todd and is set five years after his resurrection through the Lazarus Pit. It covers the events as portrayed in the movie Batman: Under The Red Hood but also extends the plot by the addition of the original character Evelyn Nichols.

Evelyn and Jason were childhood friends and had known each other ever since they were toddlers due to the fact that they used to be neighbors. But after the death of Jason's mother from an alcohol overdose and his being taken in by Bruce Wayne, the two didn't meet until Jason became Robin.

Evelyn lost her eyesight and her parents in a severe accident so when she met Jay again, she wasn't able to see him. However, that did not affect their friendship and they resumed as best friends. Since she relied on her instincts more after the loss of her eyesight, she was able to figure out that Jay and Robin were one and the same.

But after the mission in Bosnia where Jason was tortured brutally and murdered by the Joker when his body was brought back and the funeral was held, Eve had a suspicion that the body in the coffin wasn't Jason's because over the years her instincts had grown much stronger helping her to navigate the world differently.

Five years later when Jason returns to Gotham as Red Hood, the two cross paths again. The story from then on focuses on the plotline of Under The Red Hood and also extends after it.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

This was my first attempt at writing a story fully focusing on Jason Todd. Jason's character to me has always been a little difficult to handle as he has such a complex arc and as this story was set in a very sensitive timeline of his character, I was a bit dubious about continuing the story. But so far I have received positive feedback so I hope the readers are enjoying what I have written up till now.

Also, Tim Drake is fifteen and a newly trained Robin in this fanfic so the story not only focuses on Jason and Evelyn but it also deals with Tim's early years as Robin and the rest of the Waynes and ultimately leads to the patch-up between Jay and his family.

I am sure it will turn out to be a great read for those of you who prefer action, a cute tragic romance, and the thrill and drama that comes guaranteed with every Jason Todd story.
