OVERVIEW:

Erica Leslie had never asked for much in life.

She had her own place, a small studio full of easels and paintings she worked on and she had people to look after her. She could spend the rest of her days in peace in her studio painting to her heart's content with nothing else to worry about.

But they say we find the thing we need most at the time we have given up looking for it and just like that, Erica found Richard.

Or rather, he found her and both of them became a doorway to a new chapter in their lives.

But after meeting him, she realized that even though she had never before asked for anything in her life, Richard was the person who made her want to ask for every second and more to be spent with him.

From that first meeting in the BCPD where she was occasionally called in for making sketches of suspects as described by the informants to that one last dance under the night sky, every second spent with him was like an urge for her to press the restart button on the timer attached to her heart and relive it all over again.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

This is the fourth book in A Series Of Thin Lines, focusing on Richard Grayson and his time in Bludhaven. I know I already have a story in the drafts set in the same time frame but I just love exploring Richard's character as a fully independent vigilante and outside of Gotham.

So in Poetic To A Fault (the other fanfic of mine set in the same city and canon events), the story focuses more on how Richard got the identity of Nightwing. But in this story, Richard has been Nightwing for quite some time when he first meets Erica.

I don't know why but I am always inclined to write OCs for Richard who can appreciate art so here we are with Erica being an artist and very good at sketches. In Poetic To A Fault, the OC Cynthia was a poetess so she too had an affinity for recognizing and appreciating the arts of nature. I think I just want this masterpiece of a man to be appreciated as much as he deserves to (okay, I will stop gushing about Richard now, don't mind me). 

Also, I am not supposed to give you guys any spoilers but I am thrilled to write this story because it has an ending that I have been craving to write ever since I wrote my most favorite fanfic on this site (guess which one and you might find out exactly what I am planning). 

In other words, be ready for a thrilling ride of love and angst. I hope you guys enjoy it too because I am sure I will enjoy each second of writing it.
