OVERVIEW:
When one's life is put at stake, what do they choose?
Many choose to escape, leaving whatever motive dragged them into the mess. But very few people like Ember Sullivan still dig for the truth, putting themselves in constant peril.
The life of a news reporter in Gotham is never easy. Ember had been in the field for five years by then and she knew there was too much going on in the city of crime to report. It was not the job she was hired for but a choice of convenience after her previous job landed her into trouble.
She hated her current job of merely reporting the events and was kept away from any and every sort of investigation due to her past record. She hated dealing with the trifles of interviewing Gotham's snobby elite and all she wanted to do was to go back to her first job.
She met Damian Wayne at a point she was done with all the rich assholes the city had to offer, and certainly not in the mood of dealing with another one. But little did she know that presumed rich asshole was connected to the reason she had gotten fired from the job she had loved.
If she played her cards right, that reason could become an opportunity to gain back what was lost. But there's a heavy price to pay for dabbling in with fate.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
This is the second book in A Series Of Thin Lines, featuring a thrilling ride of crime, investigation, love, and obsession revolving around Damian Wayne and Ember Sullivan.
Ember Sullivan used to be an investigative journalist before she got fired from the news agency she was working with due to a groundbreaking story she was chasing that could expose some of the most dangerous crime families in Gotham. After getting fired, her credibility and career were put at risk but she was intent to take the story she started to completion.
She couldn't work on it as openly as earlier and soon other problems of surviving in the city overpowered the thirst for truth. She had to accept a job she didn't want to do with the Gotham Daily, being merely a news reporter instead of investigating crime stories.
In this story, I am trying to explore what would happen if an investigative journalist had to deal with mere reporting and trifling stories. My character, just like me, has no interest in this field but had to accept it.
I haven't yet thought a lot about the story but it's going to be fun for me to write and hopefully for you to read as well. And for those of you who missed the Hellfire Series, I have kinda brought it's cast and dynamics back for this one.
I'm not saying this will be a scenario of what if Ashley was a reporter named Ember (both of them have very different personalities) but I am excited to explore a different plot with some of my favorite characters.
