Earth Ponies:

Earth Ponies have no wings or horns. They are strong and each pony has a different trait of personality, meaning that no pony is the same. They are known for being physically strong.

Pegasus Ponies:

Pegasi are like Earth Ponies apart from one major difference. They have wings on their backs. This wings allow them to fly. They are able to travel at fast speeds. Like Earth Ponies, they are all different.

Unicorn Ponies:

Unicorns are like Earth Ponies, but have a horn on their forehead. This gives them many magical abilities. They can be cancelled by physical trauma, and other types of magic. The horns usually glow when performing magic.

Crystal Ponies:

Crystal Ponies resemble in nearly all aspects regular Earth Ponies. While a few have been seen to have wings, it is still unknown if there are Crystal Ponies who can fly.

Alicorn Ponies:

Alicorn Ponies are especial ponies that have the power of an Earth Pony, the wings of a Pegasus Pony, and the magical horn of a Unicorn Pony. This makes them more powerful, and are often styled as royalty.

Sea Ponies/Mermare Ponies

Sea Ponies/Mermare Ponies are aquatic type ponies that live in the sea. They come from an underwater kingdom known as Seaquestria. Their upper bodies are those of a regular pony, while their lower part resembles a fish.

Those are all the types of ponies that have been seen in Equestria. It is unknown if there is any other types of ponies. Some ponies, such as Shadow Ponies and other types are not in this chapter since they have especial properties that set them apart from the other Pony species.
