How to properly buy razor blades.

I needed to go to a volleyball tournament and I needed to shave my legs because, well, I couldn't wear long pants to a game.  Since I was in a different city and I forgot razors at home, I had to go to a store with my brother to get some.

My brother got the razors and I went to the bakery to two cookies. (Publix gives out free cookies to children.  I grew up going to Publix, so they never had the heart to say "Alright kid, don't you think that you're a bit old?")

I found my brother at the cashier and he was buying the razors.  A teenage guy (average looks) was bagging the razors and asked "Do you buy razors often?"

My brother, being the great guy that he is, gestured to me and said "Actually, they're for her."

The guy looked down and avoided eye contact with us.

My brother continued.  "Now, it's not what you think.  They're for an art project."

The cashier looked up with a slightly confused and terrified expression.  "Really?"

"Yeah," my brother responded.  "I'm not sure what her teacher is thinking, she just asked everyone to bring in some razors."

"What kind of art project is it?" the cashier asked as he turned to me, doing his best to be nice.  (Publix is known as a place with employees that do their best to help the costumers.  One time, a picture of an employee tying an old man's shoe went viral).

"I don't know.  She said that she wants it to be a surprise," I told him, unsure what to say since I've never made up an elaborate lie off the spot.

The guy looked surprised, unsure of what to think or what to do.  It isn't every day that you hear something like a project being made out of razor blades, much less a school art project.  Meanwhile, I took the razors and walked off with my brother, waiting until we got outside to completely let go of our laughter.
