When a string breaks, it always takes you by surprise. (Unless you intended to break it)

It can happen when you're tuning. Maybe you tuned it too tight. And it just pops right off! Sometimes it can slap you too! That once happened to me, it slapped my arm! It hurt.

What's worse is when you're playing and it breaks. You're in the middle of a song, it sounds good. You're strumming and nodding your head to the beat, tapping your foot, smiling. And the string comes off. Not what you were expecting. Ruins the song.

And then you have to restring it, but you can't just get any string!! You gotta make sure it's the right one. If you broke the high e, you gotta get the high e. If you broke the low e, you gotta get the low e. You gotta make sure it's all the same gauge, same brand, and all that. And then when you put it on, you got twist and twist and twist the pegs. And when you're done, you got to cut it.

And when you get a new string, it easily gets out of tune. So every single time you play it, you gotta tune it. And after a while, it usually stays in tune for the most part.

Strings can be a pain, but you can't play guitar without. (Well you can, if it's air guitar)
