POV Hiccup

Finally we have some dog training! This is far more interesting than working with guns and other deadly things. One day I'm able to bring difference to the world and stop the fights and killing. All that death is unnecessary but for now I need to just suck it up and learn to use weapons. Until I get towards my ultimate goal.

Toothless is glaring at me again. It's so doubtful towards me, sometimes I wonder if it really dislikes me but most of the time we are like best buddies.

"Teach your dog the basic commands first. Make yourself its master and then you can teach it to find bombs and people from collapsed buildings. It took me a while to teach Staff but it was worth every second," Captain Frost stated.

I glance at Elsa, her dog Olaf is goofing around but doing as she says.

"Sit?" I ask from Toothless. It glared at me and gave me its paw. I sigh and for my relief Captain Frost is walking near Hiro right now. He is struggling a bit with Baymax who seems to be keen on just jumping on Hiro's lap.

"Roll!" I order Toothless strictly. Now it sits. Great.

I heard a cough behind me. I look behind me and Captain Frost is glaring at me.

"Let me. Move aside Private Haddock," Captain Frost ordered.

I cross my arms and I keep my eye on Captain and Toothless. He starts giving orders to Toothless. And it freaking did as he told. First it sat, gave its paw and then Captain Frost threw a stick.

I watch as Toothless runs to get the stick. I swore that it just looked over its shoulder, swaying his head from side to side sassily and grinning deviously. It's as stubborn as a cat at least. Heck, sometimes I wonder if it's a cat in disguised to be a dog.

I groan after Captain Frost left to see how Flynn was doing. His dog was refusing to co-operate, it was just hanging from his leg.

"Your dog is not even a girl like you are and it keeps on playing in some pretty leaves? Gosh that is pathetic," Captain Frost laughed.

"SIT!" He then shouted to Elsa. She sat on the ground and stares in shock to Captain. Olaf sat on her lap.

I stare how Captain starts picking up some autumn leaves from the ground, they had fallen from a maple tree near us.

"So you think that you are good to be in the army, huh?" Captain Frost spoke bitterly. Elsa was turning red and remains silent. I watch how Captain Frost starts tying up the leaves together. Then he placed a leaf crown on Elsa's head and he laughed coldly.

"Fuck. A crown fit to a queen of fools. We should have a contest yearly for the most idiotic private so you could win it yearly," Captain said and kicked some leaves over Elsa. She startled and even her dog hides behind her back.

"Wow even your dog is stupid if it thinks that you can protect it," Captain chuckled and turns his back at her. Elsa glares at him quickly and stands up.

"My dog is smarter than he might look, Captain," Elsa spoke bitterly.

"Just shut up," Captain hissed and made us all dismiss.

"Wow he was harsh," I told to Elsa. She was eager over something.

"Y-yeah he was. Umm.. could you take Olaf back to kennel?" She asked and smiled. Her expression was sad and I felt sorry for her so I agreed. She thanked me and left somewhere.

Once I got into the kennel I saw someone getting a big dog out from the cage.

"Hey," I greeted when I put Olaf back to his cage.

"Hi," the girl replied. She is in Captain Tooth's squad and Elsa's friend.

"My name is Hiccup Haddock. And you?" I asked and gave her my hand.

"Merida Dunbroch," she grinned and took a strong grip from my hand.

"Who is this fellow?" I chuckled when her dog begun to circle around my feet. Toothless huffed to it.

"He is Angus. Hey, since you have a dog why wouldn't we train a little while together? If you are free I mean," Merida smiles. I nod my head to her.

"C'mon Toothless," I wave my hand to my dog. It actually did as I asked.

Toothless obeyed me now. It was really weird but he is awfully smart. Maybe he tries to impress Merida?

We finished the exercise routine and start to walk towards the kennels. Our dogs need their dinner since they are still developing.

"Thanks for the company. I really enjoy going out with my dog without anyone else in control," Merida laughed. She was most likely pointing out the fact that it was nice once in a while nice to train without your Captain around. I couldn't agree with her more.

"Yeah  it's nice once in a while. Maybe we could train our dogs together more often?" I told her while I opened the cage where Toothless is staying. I ruffle my hair after I closed the cage door.

"Sure. You are quite good in it, you taught me few things with Angus. How can I repay it?" She smiles. She had already put Angus back to its cage and now she stands in front of me with her hands behind her back. Our dogs are busy eating their supper.

"Well I need few tips in hand to hand combat. How about tomorrow? If you're good in it that is," I grinned.

"Absolutely! I grew up with three younger brothers. They were a handful. I need to go to the Mess now. Girls are waiting for me to go to eat," she laughed and ran off.

"Okay, bye," I said after she left.

She was right. It's time for dinner already. "Better get going, the guys are probably eating already," I spoke aloud as I start to jog towards our barrack. I need to change my shirt at least, it was kinda messy because Toothless knocked me down to ground again while we were training.

POV Elsa

Where did he go again?

I am searching around the Mess building where people go to eat. So far I've not seen him. He disappeared after the training. Doing it right after his insult didn't feel right but I need to do it now, when no one else is watching and he is alone. The hug I mean, maybe Anna is right and all he needs are few hugs to soften that jerks heart.

Then I heard dog barking and it made my heart beat rapidly. I know that this sounds like his dog.

Indeed it is his dog. Staff ran around the corner, carrying a baseball. Quickly I hid myself behind barrack, pressing my body against the wooden wall.

"Okay boy, let's go to park!" I heard Captain Frost chuckling. I peek behind the corner and I saw him. He laughed for a moment before his expression saddened and he sighed. That cheerful person who I managed to just see a glimpse of disappeared as fast as it appeared.

I close my eyes for a moment when I inhale deeply. I'm gonna do it in the park.

Suddenly the image of his eyes shining while he laughed, his smile crept into my consciousness. My heart made one single hard beat and I was sure that it was about to burst out from my ribcage. Quickly I place my hand over my chest. It feels so painful.

"Staff? Are you coming?" Captain Frost called his dog. When he spoke my heart did similar beat as before.

"What is wrong with me?" I mumbled. Hopefully I'm getting sick and I can slack from the training for some time.

"C'mon. Stop fooling around!" Captain groaned. I startled when something moist touched my hand.

Oh shit. It's his dog. It stares at me with it's blue eyes. Playfully and anticipating. It dropped the ball in front of me and I hear the steps of Captain Frost getting towards me. He keeps calling of his dog.

I try to urge Staff to go away. My tries are for nothing as it sits down.

Then I glance at the ball on the ground. I kick it quickly and it rolls away from me. Staff barked and run after it. I sigh from relief as I managed to get him away from me so I won't meet the Captain yet. My eyes closed as my heart was now calming down.

Captain started to laugh. His laughter was something different, it was short but it was warm and sincere. It was something that I want to hear again, lasting longer. He laughed with his heart, from deep down. I bit my bottom lip while I listened to it.

The sounds of Captain and his dog became distant. I look behind the corner and I see how they are leaving the base area and heading towards the park. Quickly I follow them again.

Warm hugs can melt anyone's heart? Captain's mom told me that he was different once. Maybe he was like Shawn? Good and nice or at least less of a rude arrogant idiotic bastard. Hopefully.

Suddenly I realize something. I'm again stalking him. What on earth has happened to me? I mean I was hiding myself for years from others and now I hide while I keep on tracking someone just so I could hug him in few moments because my sister told me to do so. This is crazy. On top of that he hates me.

When he got into the park I kept on watching him. It was afternoon and the park was quite empty. People were probably still working and since it's fall already it is not that popular activity to visit in a park.

I watch how Captain Frost is throwing the baseball to Staff who brings it back to him to throw again. I don't want Captain Frost to notice me before I'm able to actually wrap my arms around him. Otherwise he might just dodge me. How to distract him?

My powers? What if...

Quickly I began to create a snowball. My heart was beating nervously as I get ready to throw it.

Then I did it, I threw it to his right so he would turn his back at me.

"What the hell," Captain Frost gasped as he kept on staring at the way where my snowball flew and was followed by his dog Staff. I begin to run as silently as I could towards him. Gladly I'm light on my feet.

"C-captain Frost?" I called him when I reached him. He startled and turns around sharply. He was really shocked to see me.

"Private Arendelle? The heck are you in he-re," he mumbled but then he started gasping when I closed my eyes and threw myself on him, my arms wrapped around his body. He was really slender but muscular. Captain was trying to squirm free.

"What the fuck! Let me go," Captain Frost groaned. He was strong and managed to pull me off from him. I'm staring at him in shock. He stares at me, his eyes are wide from surprise and misbelieve. I bit my bottom lip and I turn my back at him.

Without saying anything I kept on walking forward. Captain Frost was also quiet. Suddenly I heard his dog barking and how it ran towards me. It's nozzle pushed against my hand when it came to me. At least his dog is friendly.

"You fucking bitch. What do you think you are doing! You are such an idiot! There are consequences on touching me you know!" Captain Frost started yelling and I pause on my steps. I embrace myself while I listen to his insults.

Hug him when he is a jerk.

Anna's words were back in my mind. We are alone still, should I? He might hit me.

I inhale deeply and I turn around. My expression must be determined while I walk towards him. His narrowed eyes widen from surprise again.

"Don't fucking try," Captain Frost hissed when I stand in front of him. His dog sits next to me and looks at us with its head turned sideways.

I lift my hands so I could embrace him again but then I felt sharp pain on my cheek. He had slapped my face with open hand and jumped back. I notice that his feet float above the air.

"Staff! Let go of me!" Captain Frost groaned. His dog was growling, biting its teeth on his pants and keeping him on ground level.

I hold my cheek and I watch him. There's nothing I want to say to him right now, he is so annoying. I just took couple steps forward and I wrap my arms around his waist again. He starts squirming again and drops to ground.

Finally I dared to breathe again. I inhaled and I notice how he smells like mints. Quickly he tries to push me away, yelling insults at me. I just hold on to him tighter, ignoring his words. I press my head against his green army jacket, the fabric feels soft. I close my eyes, a single tear escapes from my eye as  I try to ignore the pain in my cheek.

It's interesting how fast his heart beats and the fact that he has a heart. I hold on to him tighter.

"Don't touch me!" Captain Frost's voice was now lightly panicking. He was squirming and trying to push my arms down. I just tightened my grip again.

His heartbeat was now much calmer and he was breathing in and out. Then he exhaled once, really deeply. He just stands there, quietly while I hold him.

Then he did something unthinkable. I felt his hand touch my back for small moment, how he rubbed his head against mine and his breath hitched as he did so. Now my heart was beating fast while his was calm and steady.

"Private Arendelle," he whispered to my ear, I could feel his face against mine.

I couldn't respond, I was still frozen from fear.

"Let go of me," he whispered again.

Maybe his heart softened a little now? At least it beats differently.

Slowly I let go. We stand in front of each other. His hands are hanging against his sides like mine are hanging against me. Then I clenched my hands into fists, my body started shaking. He didn't say anything, he just stares at me. I took one quick glance to his face, I notice a slight shade of pink on his cheeks but I couldn't stand it any longer. I turn around and I run away from him.

I felt sick. Now I'm really screwed. Totally screwed.

"Elsa!" I heard a friendly yell while I was now walking really fast. I pause and I look in front of me. My cheeks feel like burning up.

Then I saw how Shawn was riding a bicycle towards me. He swung his leg over the bike and stopped next to me.

"Hi," I sighed and look into his brown eyes.

"Hey. So where are you going in such a hurry? Also you look really beaten down. What's the matter?" He sounded concerned.

Sure. I'm going to tell him that his brother treats me like garbage and just hit me.

"Nothing is wrong," I said and laughed lightly.

"Really now? Well let me buy you an ice cream from shop in town. I just got off from work," Shawn smiled and nodded towards the direction where he was heading.

After few moments of urging me I finally agreed to go with him.

I notice how Shawn keeps on glancing me time to time.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Well I haven't seen you wearing green you know," he shrugged and looks to the direction where we are going. He was right, he has not seen me in military clothing yet.

"I see," I mumbled.

"Your hair looks better open, you know," he grinned. My cheeks blush and I pull couple hair pins off, making my hair drop into loose french braid from the previous tight bun.

"Anyway what's the matter?" Shawn asked again. We already saw the shop.

"Just something troubling my mind. That's all," I said and tried to circle around the matter. My respond seems to satisfy him.

We bought couple ice creams and went to sit on a bench nearby. We watched how people were walking on the streets. This might be my last ice cream that I enjoy out this year. Soon it would be winter and this fall is getting quite rainy. Gladly sun is now shining.

"Shawn?" I asked and he hummed while eating his orange tasting ice cream.

"Why do you dislike your twin brother?" I asked without thinking clearly. Immediately I felt regretful.

Shawn's smile wore off and he stopped eating ice cream. He was now seeming sad.

"Sorry for asking," I told him quickly.

"That's fine. Let me tell you a story. I'm the oldest, he was our familys middle child. Yeah, as much of a troublemaker as I was and really funny. Girls liked us both but our little sister loved us. When Jackson joined in the army I was opposite to it, I tried to convince him to be a singer slash pianist but... he went anyway," Shawn sighed.

"Army isn't that bad," I mumbled before eating some of my chocolate chip ice cream.

"People die there," Shawn said quickly and cleared his throat. "Well, Emma wanted to join too. The army is like the family curse. Our dad is in the army too. Well, Jackson failed to protect Emma and she was killed. That bastard didn't be a big brother she needed," Shawn said bitterly.

"I'm sorry," I whispered. I couldn't help but to wonder what had happened. Shawn doesn't seem to know.

"Yeah. So who is your Captain? Toothiana maybe? She's my ex," Shawn grinned and my eyes widened.

"Your what?" I gulped.

"My ex," Shawn laughed.

"Umm... no... no she's not my captain," I laughed nervously. Then I quickly continued eating my ice cream.

"Bunnymund?" Shawn raised his eyebrow.

"N-no. Captain Frost,"  I whispered.

"My brother?" Shawn gasped. He dropped his ice cream and stares at me.

I gulped when he took hold of my shoulders. "Don't ever trust into my brother. Ever. He is a scumbag. Oh and if he ever harms you just tell me and I will kill him. That bastard deserves it," Shawn groaned.

I'm staring at him. "B-but," I stuttered in shock.

"He is the reason why Emma is dead. He was the only person with her. I don't care if I end up in prison for killing him," Shawn  said seriously.

"Shawn I don't think that it's necessary," I said nervously. My hand was being stained by the melting chocolate ice cream.

"Jack is sick to the core, he has done horrible things. Don't trust in him," Shawn told me and my eyes widen from shock.

"D-done what?" I whispered.

Shawn let his hands drop from my shoulders. His eyes filled with tears. "From what I heard —," Shawn started and took a deep breath , "—he is a rapist and a murderer."

"Is it o-officially in somewhere?" I whisper. This can't be possible. They don't keep people like him in the army.

"The soldiers who visit in the bar are saying that Jack is like that. My brother is sick," Shawn said blankly.

I'm staring at Shawn. Captain Frost is a rude jerk but something that Shawn said seems a bit weird. I just keep on remembering how Captain was playing a ice piano at his sister's grave and singing to her. It's hard to not to cry when I think of it again.

I glance at Shawn, wondering if he knows how hurt his brother is or the fact that he possesses winter powers. Just like I do.

Also... when is your summer holiday beginning? xD Mine just started. Three weeks of freedom! Yay! End of next week we're going to cabin at lake (sounds like horror movie material, huh?) and 11th June we will go to Antalya/Alanya Turkey YAY! xD
