3 Man's Best Friend

POV Elsa

Anna's voice is slightly cheering me up, it has been really rough lately."Okay Elsa what's wrong?" Anna insisted to know and I sighed again.

"Spit it out, I know you too well," Anna muttered.

"I shot my Captain," I whispered quietly.

"WHAT! Please tell me that you didn't use your powers," Anna gasped.

"No Anna, I actually shot him with a gun," I mumbled quietly. There's so many people around me and chatting on phones.

"Phew! That's good," Anna sighed in relief. "Wait. YOU SHOT YOUR CAPTAIN!" Anna screamed so loud that I needed to hush her. Hopefully no one heard her.

"Yeah, he did some weird Russian roulette thing on me. I thought that the barrel was empty and when I got too angry at him I grabbed the gun and shot him. It really had a bullet in it. I didn't mean to," I explained in my best way in secret from everyone.

"Okay, good that you shot him then. If you wouldn't I would have to come over there and punch some sense into him for treating my sister that way," Anna exhaled.

"He sort of deserved it but it really hurt him. He was bleeding," I whispered.

"Too bad that he is still alive," Anna mumbled. I just shook my head while smiling. She can be really feisty sometimes, she even beat up her ex one time.

My heart almost jumped out of my chest as I glance at the time. It's almost time for our next training session. I can already imagine Captain's cold eyes glaring at me angrily and how he mocks at me for being late.

"Anna as much as I enjoy chatting with you, I really need to go. We have more training coming up," I laughed out.

"Don't let him treat you badly, that Captain. You deserve better Elsa," Anna hummed.

"Thanks and I can manage, I think," I said insecurely as I roll the phone's cord around my front finger. "Bye," I told her and we hang up. I really need to hurry now. Quickly I slam the phone back and I run out from the phone booth, I'm running towards the exit on the corridor. Some people are still chatting on phone with their families.

I look at the time again from my right when I pass a clock. I have five minutes. Just five minutes to the beginning of the practice which is at least ten minutes walking distance in the field. No, no... NO!

Then I turn my head back to the direction where I was running. I let out a muffled scream when someone stepped out from the last booth. I couldn't dodge anymore, I saw him turning around to look where that awkward sound came from. Someone opened the door to outside behind him, the sun was low and shining bright, making it impossible for me to see his face when I was blinded by the light.

Everything felt happening slow, how he spread his arms and I bumped against his chest. How I felt us falling down and hearing him grunting when he hit the floor. Why on earth was I running on corridor inside!

My heart is about to explode from my chest. I'm actually laying over this guy and I feel his arms moving over my back. He is moaning a bit and sounding like it hurt him, the fall. I feel like I'm frozen, my ear is pressed against his chest and I hear his rapid heartbeat.

Great, this will be a delay. Now Captain Frost will for sure be mad.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. I'm running late from practice and my Captain would get mad at me because of it," I said quickly as I push myself up to the support of my hands resting on the floor on either side of him.

All breath escaped from me and I stare into a pair of acyan blue eyes. I'm just gasping as I stare at my Captain.

I'm staring at his lips, everything seems fuzzy and happening in slow motion. My heart beats irregularly as I hear him speaking. "Private Arendelle. Which makes your Captain mad more? You being late from practice or... barging at him and making him fall?" He sounded sarcastic and bitter. His expression is harsh and cold. I'm so scared, what should I say?

I'm hearing some whispers and my cheeks turn red. I look around us and it seems like our weird position has made some people gather around us. For a moment I saw something else in Captain's eyes besides anger and bitterness, his eyes widened and his cheeks flushed for a second. I could hear him breathing in deeply.

"Go to do whatever you were supposed to!" Captain Frost roared to the people around us. Now I just heard how the people run off, Captain's head was looking over his shoulder towards the door where people run off. I felt his chest rising and going down under me as he breathed angrily. His teeth were gritted together tightly.

I gather my courage as Anna told me, he is just a man. We can beat up men, Anna taught me that.

"NGH!" Captain Frost grunted as I sat on him. He was now staring at me, his face was turning red and I couldn't tell if he was angry or embarrassed.

"Why do you hate me. Sir?" I asked. I saw him getting shocked and then he seemed so unsure what to say. The insecurity of his disappeared shortly.

"Women don't belong in the army. You are weak, weaklings will be eaten alive in war. It's just the law of nature," Captain hummed and pushed me off. I notice that the gunshot wound on his left shoulder seems to be alright because he could push me off so easily.

"I will prove you otherwise!" I yelled at him as we both stood up.

"You are late from practice Private Arendelle," he hissed at me.

"So are you, Captain," I said bitterly to him.

"I still have one minute," he grinned. There was a playful spark in his eyes. It's like he took it as a challenge and now he is acting like a kid.

"B-but," I mumbled. Minute won't be enough.

"You have no idea who I am, do you Miss Arendelle?" He chuckled, not warmly or anything like that. It was like he was amused in this negative way.

I was about to fall back down, he just ran. He was so fast, it's like he isn't even a human.

Then I heard how the clock pointer went to even hour. "Oh no. I'M LATE!" I screamed and I ran after him. There's no sign of the Captain anywhere in the nearby.

"H-he is there already?" I whispered as I jogged the rest of the way. They were standing in the field, in perfect line and Captain was standing in front of them. His arms were behind his back and his green army suit looks neat.

"You are late Private Arendelle," Captain hissed and glared at me. I was so out of breath when I lined up next to Hiccup so I only could yell my apology and then continue my breathing. He has some secret. He is not even tired.

"Gear up Miss Arendelle. Girls like dress ups," Captain laughed blankly as he pointed at a weird suit. I go to it and I lift it up. It's heavy and I realize that it's protective suit. For dog training. I glance at our Captain nervously. Maybe he is giving us dogs but why on earth I need to wear this?

I see how Captain lifts his hand in front of his mouth. His front finger and thumb go into his mouth as he whistles sharply. We hear some running and everyone turns to look at the edge of a forest. We see how a gray shadow moves towards us fast.

It's a dog, gray husky to be exact. It now slowed down it's speed and it's breathing in while keeping it's mouth open. That dog has curious, dark blue eyes. I see how it runs to our Captain. Captain kneels down and ruffles the dogs head. My cheeks flush a bit when I heard our Captain laughing warmly, his eyes were friendly and his smile as he showed his affection to his dog.

In few moments it was over. My fellow squad members seem confused. This protective suit feels really hot on me. Now Captain's dog is sitting next to him. Captain was again as cold as before, so strict.

"As you can see a perfectly trained dog will obey and work as part of you. I would like to introduce my dog, Staff," Captain Frost said.

I sigh. That name was so weird. "Now we will have a show from my dog and miss Arendelle. How a dog behaves towards enemy. I suggest that miss Private starts to run already," Captain laughed. I look at him and then at his dog and back at him. He is really going to make his dog attack at me. I'm already taking some steps back.

Hiccup just whispered that I should run. I'm too stunned however, I keep staring at our Captain and that dog of his. The eyes of Staff are almost like glowing in blue.

"Staff," Captain stared at me with a playful smirk. My heart starts beating irregularly as I see his dog tensing up. "Attack," he orders his dog and I let a slight gasp out from me. I turn around and I run, I can hear how his husky is running towards me and keeps barking.

"AH!" I screamed as I feel myself falling down. As I turn around I feel my arm being pulled and the dog keeps growling while pulling the sleeve. It's eyes are deep blue and glowing.

"LET IT GOO! LET IT GOO!" I screamed and I actually sang a part of it aloud. I hear the guys from my squad laughing. "YOU TAKE A FREAKING DOG TO - NGH- HANG TO YOUR ARM!" I groaned and it was now dragging me.

"You can't even beat my dog?" Captain Frost sounded bothered as he walks towards me. He whistles once and Staff let me go, then it licked my face and it hangs it's tongue out in a friendly way. From corner of my eye I see how Captain's arms fell to his sides from being folded over his lap. Then his dog paced to sit on Captain's right side and I see how shocked he is when he glances at his dog.

Captain Frost cleared his throat and Haddock helped me up.

"Whoa that dog is strong," Haddock whispered and I nodded my response when Captain wasn't looking.

"Alright, follow me privates," Captain Frost mumbled after sighing. I just got out from my protective suit.

He brought us into a kennel. "This is where you will get your companions. There's one for each and they will chose you," Captain Frost sounded really irritated. It was like he hated this process.

"A dog can be your savior one day. Staff and I have been together since he was a puppy. Now it's your turn to train your own dogs. Remember, our squad will be bomb disarmers among many things," Captain Frost spoke fast. He ordered us to follow him inside the kennel. In the kennel he opened up a cage which we had to follow him into. There were few adorable puppies.

I wanted to squeal because the little dogs were really adorable. However Fitzherbert elbowed me and made me look at our Captain. He was so annoyed looking so I was glad that Fitzherbert stopped me. Who knows how many rounds I would have to do.

"Private Hamada. You're up first," Captain Frost nodded and I saw how he relaxed. His hand went inside his pants pocket's as Hiro went towards the puppies. He sighed and sat on the floor.

"OUCH!" Hiro gasped all of a sudden.

"What is it private?" Captain hummed.

"A bee stung me!" Hiro whined and I noticed how a clear white puppy runs forward. Hiro's eyes widen and the puppy starts to lick his hand which he whined about.

"It seems that your brother's special dog breeding project's result chose you," Captain said and then he turns his back at Hiro. He is now scanning our row and I see how Hiro tries to push the over enthusiastic puppy away but eventually he grabs it to carry.

Hiro has never spoken about having a brother.

"Fitzherbert," Captain hissed. Eugene goes in and I see how a fierce puppy runs forward. It's barking and it immediately grabs onto Eugene's leg. He is telling it to let go. "So now you have a dog too. They say that Collie's are loyal... maybe that one is loyal to someone else and wants to kill you but loyal nonetheless," Captain smirked and ordered Eugene out and next it was Hiccup's turn.

Hiccup seemed to have a connection with the dogs but most curious one was a black Labrador puppy. Hiccup carried the puppy with him and I realized that it was my turn.

I kneel down and I look at the playing puppies. There's this one puppy that keeps daydreaming and chasing a butterfly. I giggle to it when it fails to catch it when it landed on it's nose. Then it looks at me with it brown eyes and barks. It ran to me, it had triangle shaped ears and it was white as snow. It jumped to my lap and it started licking my face. It made me laugh.

"W-what breed is this Captain?" I asked while chuckling.

"That's a Norwegian buhund," he said quietly and I look at him. He seems to be wondering something. I was so sure that we need to do some more of his crazy exercises but he told us to leave and get to know our dogs. Name them.

Everyone carried their dogs out from the kennel. It was hard to carry mine, it was really liking to have cuddles.

"So we need some names? Mine is Maximus. This dog is literally crazy and thinks that it's almighty. Maximus sounds hardheaded," Eugene whined and kept the dog as far away of his body as he could. It made us laugh.

"My buddy's name will be-," Hiccup started.

"Please don't say Buddy!" Eugene sighed and rolled his eyes. We went to sit on the grass and I look at my dog curiously.

"No.. His name is Toothless!" Hiccup cheered.

"It has teeth you know," I laughed and shook my head.

"Yes but it's so black that you can barely see them! I really like this green color of it's eyes. It's pretty rare, right?" Hiccup wondered aloud and petted the dogs head.

"Mine will be Baymax," Hiro whispered quietly. He was feeling a bit distant and he stared at the dog sadly.

"What's your dog's name?" Hiccup asked and smiled.

"Olaf," I grinned.

"What the heck is that? That sounds so weird," Eugene mocked at me.

"Captain said that it's Norwegian buhund. So Olaf sounds Scandinavian so that will be his name!" I smiled.

"Yea... And you sure pissed the Captain again today," Eugene sighed.

"I know but... he was kind of nice when we were picking up our puppies," I said with my hopes high up for change in our Captain's behavior.

"He probably was scared that his angry yells would scare the puppies. I mean he really likes animals," Hiro shrugged.

I nodded my head, it actually sounds like it could be like that. I pet Olaf's head. I remember how Captain was handling his dog, the way he laughed was real and actually warm. I would like to hear that laughter again. He also had a nice friendly smile. Not the cold one.

It was really hard for me when I hurt Anna, I had to learn to be with people again later on. Now when my life was feeling happier and I believed that I could possibly aid people in need there's this one grumpy guy in the way. Captain wants me out but I won't go anywhere. He is either an asshole or sad. I think of the first option which is why I need to out-do him in his own game.

POV Merida

Punzie wanted to go out and celebrate the fact that Elsa got her dog today. And we have our first free weekend after starting our training a week ago.

"So what did you guys have as your dogs?" Elsa asked. She looks around and continues, "It's a shame that GoGo was having some other plans for this evening and she couldn't come." We nodded our heads as a sign of approval.

"Ma dog is Angus, he is a Gordon setter. Black mostly," I told to her as I sip more of my pint.

"That's nice. How about you Punz?" Elsa looks at Punzie.

"Well my dog is a Australian Shepherd. He is really smart little puppy! His name is Pascal," Punzie squealed. We need to keep our dogs in the kennels when we're not training them.

"Mine is a white Norwegian Buhund, his name is Olaf," Elsa told us.

"Aww! So cute!" Punzie giggled and Elsa laughed with her.

"OH! I have told to the DJ that everyone of us will be singing!" Punzie grinned.

"NO!" I replied quickly.

"Yes and Elsa is first! There's actually a pianist in here and DJ promised that he could play," Punzie clapped in excitement. I groan, maybe I have to do it.

"O-okay," Elsa mumbled nervously.

"C'mon! You told us that you were practicing singing in your free time besides we're out to have fun and forgot certain grumpy people," Punzie smiled warmly. Elsa sighed and nodded her head.

A guy just finished singing. "Give applauses to Mr. Aladdin! Now we will have some beauty on stage as next is Elsa Arendelle - and with piano!" DJ introduced to the mic and was waving his hand in a way that he called Elsa to stage.

"So I, DJ Flounder, will now present our favorite piano player tonight - SHAWN!" He yelled as Elsa stepped on stage and then we see how a man walks also up to the stage. I see how Elsa stares at him in shock and I narrow my eyes to see the guy better.

It made me almost suffocate to my drink. I elbow Punzie quickly. The guy named Shawn is now playing the first notes. He looks... just... like...

"That can't be Captain Frost? Right?" Punzie gulped. Elsa is still standing on stage and staring in shock at the pianist. And no wonder.

Shawn had a messy type of wind blown hair that was bit too long. His body type was exactly like Captain Frost's. However his hair was brown and he had this friendly smile on his face all the time.

"Miss? You should sing?" Shawn laughed and turns around to look at Elsa. She flinched and then she told him to continue playing. He was wearing black jeans and a white t-shirt. His fingers moved well on the piano keys and he closed his brown eyes.

She was now singing while Shawn was playing the piano. Punzie had chosen Blank Space as Elsa's song to sing.

"She's great?" Punzie whispered and I nod my head.

"Aye," I replied as I look at Elsa. She has closed her eyes. The audience was quiet and listening to her keenly. She was really good. Way too good for a bar near the base in this kind of small town. I look at the pianist again, he seems to be concentrating. He is the only one without uniform. Everyone else was wearing their better uniform which we can use on our free time.

"Who is that guy?" Punzie wondered aloud and sipped her drink.

"A man?" I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah but... I've never seen him here before," Punzie whispered.

"True. I think that he might be one of those civilians living near our base," I shrugged. Elsa had now finished and she runs to us. She is nervous and keeps glancing over her shoulder. She didn't bother to stay on stage to listen the applauses.

"Okay," DJ Flounder said and looks at running Elsa. "Next some music before another singer," Dj sighed.

"Did you see him! He looks like Captain Frost!" Elsa whispered impatiently.

"Sshh.." Punzie hushed her and then I see Shawn behind Elsa. Elsa turns around slowly.

"Hey! Nice singing," Shawn laughed and offered his hand. Elsa shook his hand. They introduced themselves. It turns out that Shawn lives in the town and comes to play to this pub sometimes.

We sure had a matter to discuss about when Shawn left and went back to his seat. He was smiling and glancing at Elsa constantly which was easy to notice.
