Chapter Seven.
Lili-Rose laid in the bed, her body was starting to struggle; begging her for food, begging her for something to push her through her pain.
She stared at the tv screen; it was off. The tv hadn't been turned on since she first woke in the house.
Lili-Rose sighed as she noticed the door push open.
"Sweetheart." The British Gentleman breathed.
She kept her eyes on the tv screen, she knew the routine. She didn't need him to stand by the door telling her when to get up, shower and eat.
The British Gentleman paused for a moment, letting his eyes wonder over the blanket wrapped around her body.
"Two weeks, you allowed me to lay next to you. Just being able to wrap my arms around you."
Lili-Rose felt her eyes start to water as she had no choice but to listen to his words.
"It's been four days since you've been...well, like this." He sighed "I would give anything to just be able to lay next to you again." He rested his body against the door frame as he slipped his hands into his pant pockets.
She didn't need to look at him to know that all he ever wore was smart casual, he knew how to dress to impress.
"Are you going to eat today?" He shook his head to himself as he answered his own question "No point asking right, you haven't spoken since I brought you here." The British Gentleman struggled to hide his frustration under his heartbreak.
The British Gentleman watched as Lili-Rose adjusted the blanket around herself "Breakfast is waiting, I'd love for you to eat."
Lili-Rose didn't answer him.
"Just one bite?" He shook his head slightly "I don't want you laying in this bed all day. You know where your clothes are." With that, The British Gentleman turned and walked down to the kitchen.
Lili-Rose slowly kicked off the blanket, she stared up at the ceiling; silently praying for a miracle.
She felt hunger pains run through her body as she dragged herself to the bathroom, slamming the bathroom door shut.
The British Gentleman gripped his fork tight as he sat in his seat at the dining table.
He listened to the shower taps run. He placed down his fork as he looked at the bowl full of fruit in front of him.
Just because Lili-Rose wasn't eating didn't mean he shouldn't.
The British Gentleman looked at the bowl of fruit he had made for Lili-Rose, he smiled a little with a plan.
He picked up her bowl of fruit as he rose to his feet, placed her bowl in the fridge. He put her untouched cup and cutlery back in their spots. He put the jug of water in the fridge before returning to his seat.
He heard the shower stop.
The British Gentleman went back to eating his bowl of fruit.
Lili-Rose stepped out of the bathroom; just like the past few days, the house was silent. She kept her balance as she followed the floor to the kitchen. She was surprised not to see food waiting for her, even though they both knew she wouldn't be eating it.
Lili-Rose watched The British Gentleman as he rose to his feet, carried his empty bowl and fork to the sink and gave them a quick rinse.
The British Gentleman stayed at the sink as he turned to face her "You look lovely."
She lowered her gaze to the ground.
"You'd even look beautiful in a potato sack, if I had one for you."
Lili-Rose wasn't sure how to take that. She knew he had sourced her clothes, not knowing how or where from.
She stayed in her spot; awaiting his next move, trying to plan her next move.
He beamed with wonder and curiosity; thinking he had her now.
The British Gentleman take a step towards Lili-Rose she didn't move. He took another step, she didn't move. He took his final step, he studied her carefully as he took in the woman he loves.
He reached out his hand, softly pulling her hand into his. Lili-Rose looked down at their hands touching.
"I thought we could start small." He led her to the lounge, gently pulling her down to sit next to him.
Lili-Rose pulled her hand out of his grip.
The British Gentleman held back his reaction "How about I ask you questions, and you answer them." He realised what he said, "I know you won't speak, how about writing?"
Lili-Rose watched as he pulled out a small notepad and pen from behind the cushion. He placed them in her hands.
She squashed the notepad uncomfortably in her hand as she gripped the pen tightly.
He thought for a moment "First question. Why did you leave me at the altar?"
Lili-Rose could feel the small notepad uncomfortably dig into her palm, she could feel the pen push into her palm as she refused to write and speak.
The British Gentleman pondered for a moment "Sorry, probably a bit hard for you to answer right now." He watched her "Did you ever cheat on me?"
Pain started to shoot through her hands from gripping tightly on the items in her hand, she started to loosen her grip.
"Ah. You didn't." He took the loosening of the notebook and pen as a sign for no. "If it helps, I didn't either." The British Gentleman didn't wait for Lili-Rose reaction "I didn't even find anyone after you left me, you did though. Not right away, of course but you certainly found a few." He gritted that sentence through his teeth. "Of course, I can see you're not sorry for leaving or finding others." Pain and jealously soared through his vocal tone.
The British Gentleman took a breath to calm himself down.
"Right, next question. Do you know where we are?"
Lili-Rose didn't understand his obsession with trying to get her to know where they were; it was a house; she knew that much. A house that she just wanted to escape from, she knew that much. A house. A house that he was obsessed with her knowing.
The notepad and pen fall out of her hand and into her lap, the pen rolled from her lap and dropped on the floor.
He pondered with intrigue as he watched Lili-Rose not react "You don't remember this place? Hmm." He shrugged slightly "No point telling you if you won't remember."
Lili-Rose side eyed glanced at The British Gentleman, she rose to her feet.
"Did I say you could leave my side?" He reached for her hand.
Lili-Rose pulled her hand away, she took a short run to the bedroom and slammed the door shut.
The British Gentleman breathed in frustration.
