Back in 2019, I was in the spot of awake/asleep (you  know the part where your not sure if you want to wake up or go back to bed? yeah that was that state) and I remember pulling my blankets back over me as I went back to bed. 

In that odd sleep state, it gave me the idea to write this story and I was intrigued by my own story. 

As I typed the story up, the more I started to find hype in the way it was written. Seeing Lili-Rose struggle with trying to identify her kidnapper and her struggle to stay quiet to keep her power instead of letting him have his power over her. 

I didn't know the connection Lili-Rose had with her abuser until I wrote the end scene during my first draft and it felt thrilling to find that little twist, which I hope you all enjoyed.

Also, spoiler alert. Matthew (Lili-Rose's dad) will pop up again in The Hidden Madame/ The Son of The Hidden Madame. They are the same Matthew's.
