THE NHAGY LINEAGE

RAENA Nhagy was born from the most beautiful couple in the galaxy, at least in her eyes.

Lynn and Marcell Nhagy originally arrived to Lianna, a port planet within the Tion Cluster, to start a new life from the trade business to support their child. Although, the couple couldn't deny their true love for the ecosystem around them, and urged themselves to follow their dream jobs. Their true calling was on the planet, Takodana, where the various amounts of lush plant life are famous for making most ecologists and tourist alike grow mad. Nevertheless, what most don't realize is the truth about nature, and that it can be called an enemy.

Lynn and Marcell crossed every meadow within Takodana and kept a close eye on the tourists, even providing guarded visits throughout the forests with their protection and knowledge. The family worked closely with Maz Kanata for jobs, and managed to provide a safe environment for their child.

They were safe and happy, until two days after Raena's eighteenth birthday.

While exploring the inner forest and looking for the famous coma-bloom, the couple stumbled upon a few squashed berries living right near a darkkoninn, which seemed unknown to them at the time. They picked up the berries, seeing them as a good chance for free food to bring back to their child, but tried a couple for safe measure, unaware of what they were truly digesting. Just a few seconds after chewing on the berries, the acidic poison within the darkkoninn berries caused their hearts to stop beating. Even the smartest ecologists can make the worst mistakes.

Raena was then truly alone.

The young adult was left in turmoil while on her own. She was completely stricken in grief due to her parents' passing. News of her parents' alerted the last members of the Nhagy family throughout the galaxy, thus reminding her uncle Elijah that she was of age, and it was time to show her what her family was born for.

He traveled all the way from his home of Jakku to search for the lost girl and finally found her in an abandon hut in the middle of the forest, curled up in a ball and clothes hanging so loosely from her body that it suggested she hadn't eaten in days. Nursing her back to health seemed to be the hardest part of the entire journey.

Once she was well again, he explained to her that she was an adult now and it was time for her to take charge for what she was born to do. Raena had looked at him with a confused expression, questioning, "But I am a Nhagy, am I not? My parents said we were ecologists. Your brother told me we studied –"

He had cut her off with a wave of his hand, describing that the Nhagy line wasn't what her father told her they were. The Nhagy family came from a long line of bounty hunters – the greatest of all. "And I'm going to train you for this calling," he promised.

She didn't believe him at first, but soon she realized that he had been correct. She had never worked harder than ever before – waking up at the crack of dawn to sprint around the inner forest fifty times or managing to shoot a blaster for the first time – and she was tired. Oh, was she tired. But her uncle was all she had left, and because of this, she wanted to make him proud.

When he thought her to be skilled enough, he let her leave Takodana to travel with him. For five years, Raena and her uncle were inseparable. They were hired by many smugglers along the Western Reaches line and provided enough energy to make every mission successful. The Nhagy family was back in business as the greatest bounty hunters throughout the galaxy.

It wasn't until a mission of trying to capture and kill an Admiral of the First Order for a secretive Clawdite (that didn't dare to tell them their name) that something went terribly wrong. The duo had been watching the specific First Order fleet for a couple days until they noticed his ship was, luckily, going to make a pit-stop at Takodana. Nonetheless, the Admiral had been smarter than them. He knew he was going to be in danger as soon as he stepped out on the planet; he knew of the Clawdite's cunning ways when he used to work with him on the planet before he was recruited. The Admiral saw the bounty hunter duo coming and killed Raena's uncle before she could blink. She couldn't find the strength in her knees to move, but her legs urged her too. She fled before the Admiral could kill her as well. Since then, she had retired of being a bounty hunter.

Having now to provide for herself on a planet where any plant could be poisonous if you didn't know any better, Raena stays in the tourist section of the planet and works for Maz Kanata at her open-port castle. Maz had enlightened her of the days when her parents worked at this very castle, and she was happy enough to be there for her when no one else was. Maz was the mother that Raena needed at that moment.

Around the eve of her twenty-fourth birthday, she had been exploring the port on her longer-than-usual break that Maz had so graciously given her. She spied a staircase that lead below and soon found herself wandering to the basement area. While rounding a corner, she noticed a vault filled to the brink of collectibles. She didn't know Maz was a hoarder of vintage artifacts.

Curiosity getting the best of her, she started to look through all the old objects. She could've sworn seeing old objects from Senator Amidala's personal archives. She had engulfed herself in the hoard with the biggest smile on her face, before her hands rested upon a wooden chest that was secured by a rusty lock.

She pried the old lock off, finding it to be extremely difficult. When she was about to give up, she gave it one last yank, and she slid across the floor. Dust blew in her direction and she looked up, noticing the chest was opened. Gingerly sliding herself back in front of the chest, she slowly opened it, spying an artifact only heard from her bedtime stories as a child: the Skywalker lightsaber.

She let out a shrill scream, quickly running away from the vault, where she spotted Maz staring at her with her wide eyes. "I – I –" She cupped a hand over her mouth as Maz tried to soothe her. "That isn't what I think it is, is it? Oh, Maz, where – how did you –?"

"Those are questions for a later date." The old creature waved off. She brought her hand to the young adult's shoulder, pushing some golden locks away from her line of vision. "Child, what did you see?"

Raena swallowed down the lump in her throat. "I – I saw it." She let out a muffled breath. "I saw the Skywalker lightsaber."

Maz's eyes closed for a mere second, before she gazed at the girl again. "Listen, and listen well, Raena." She warned, shoving a finger in the blonde's direction. "You and I – we are the only two who know about this. If the information about the location of that gets out, both of our heads are on the line. You must not tell a soul – no one ever. You must die with the information, because it could so easily fall into the wrong hands."

The blonde nodded eagerly as she was guided away from the mysterious vault. Questions still rang like loud bells inside her brain, while the enemy's were being answered as we speak. Little did both her and Maz know that as soon as that chest was opened, the First Order was alerted of the lightsaber's presence immediately by an undercover creature staying within Takodana. And that information was living right inside the former bounty hunter's brain.
