"Dearie!! It's time for dinner." Mom wakes me up for what seems like the umpteenth time today. As crazy as it might sound, I felt weird about it.

I looked at her and I swear, I noticed some traces of guilt in her face.

Was she feeling horrible about what she did? She should, shouldn't she?

"Mom..... I'm still mad at you but it still doesn't change anything does it?" I told her.

"Better be downstairs in five, I have a very important announcement to make." She said hastily and ran across the room before slamming the door.

"Priscilla, I have got a lot of assignments and you have to teach me." Shirley hugged me and gave me her green dreamy eyes—— that does just the magic—— as soon as I walked into the dining room.

I responded to her sweetness by giving her a pat on her shoulders playfully.

Afterwards, I looked at the dinning table, Alex just waved at me (cocky much), Jason also waved but I hate that man as much as I hate myself but who cares.

Mom was busy setting up the table for dinner.

Annoying silence.

"Guys, I have something to say." Mom breaks the silence and I heard Shirley and Alex cheering to know what mom has to say.

She should have waited for dinner to even start.

"You are getting me a new video game for me." Alex giggled hoping for a good news. I shrugged inwardly with 'if only they knew' words lingering in my head.

"We have an additional person here today and there's a good reason for that." Mom adds and I just couldn't wait for her to break the bombshell.

"Mom, we are waiting." Shirley urges stylishly placing her hands on the table.

"Jason and I are getting married next week." Mom says placing her palms over his and he smiles devilishly.

That son of the devil.

"Mom really?" Alex actually flares up moving away from the dinning table.

"Yes son, I really do love this guy." Mom adds, blushing profusely.

How could she?

"Your mom loves me and you guys should really understand. And seriously, stop been brats." Jason spat at us still smirking like a dog that he was.

How dare mom, let this man call her children, 'brats'. I guess, this madness was real after all.

"Who made you a judge of this," Alex screeched still very angry at mom.

"Young man, you should learn how to talk nicely to adults, for goodness sakes I didn't raise you guys like this." Mom blurts out.

"Mom, if you marry this man things are really going to change for the worse in this house." I found myself saying.

"Mommy! I don't like Jason." Shirley who had been quiet all along speaks up.

"Well baby, y'know mommy, has made her decision and I don't think you kids can do anything to stop me." Mom squeals almost like she didn't really care about us anymore.

"You know what!! You and your boyfriend should go to hell." Alex yells and walked away from the room.

"Mom!! Everything is going wrong you need to make a choice between your children or this man." I demanded.

"Pris, please don't make me do this, I don't have to choose between the two most important parts of my life." Mom asked.

Don't be selfish, Ma.

"Mom, you have got no other options." Alex who I thought had left the room joins in.

"I would be moving out tomorrow to Jason's house." She says and I'm surprised at how my mom chose her boyfriend over her children, it's like she's under some sort of voodoo.

Who's mother ever chooses a man over their own children? Basically my mom.

"Mom you choose Jason." Shirley cries and bites down her tongue and said.

"You left me with no other options dear." Mom speaks up.

So selfish, ma.

"I would leave now, love." Jason kisses my mom and leaves the house with my mom and my siblings startled at the turn of events.
