"I just don't understand why they won't text me back...I mean- it's been a few days and still...nothing." Thomas shrugged.
Roman waved his hand in the air, "Never fear, Thomas! I'm sure their phone has simply... passed, and will be recharged very soon!" He suggested.
Thomas shrugged, "Yeah, I guess."
"Either that or they don't think you're the select person they could potentially procreate with one day." Logan shrugged.
"Alright, Logan, well, maybe it's just that they're too busy taking care of their kiddos that they don't have time for texting!" Patton grinned.
"Patton...they're not married..." Thomas blinked.
"Well, I'm not married and you guys are still my kiddos!" Patton giggled.
"Yes, well, I don't think normal people talk to their personality-aspects, Patton." Roman sighed.
"Normal! My little boy is unique." Patton clapped at Thomas in a giddy manor.
"Not to them apparently- NOT- APPARENTLY NOT!" Thomas jumped up and down excitedly, holding up his phone, "They texted back!"
"aNsWeR hIm!" Roman was immediately at Thomas' side, clinging to the other's shoulder in anticipation.
"What should I say?" Thomas squeaked.
"Well, what did you say initially?" Logan raised an eyebrow.
"Hey, want to maybe go catch a movie?" Thomas blinked nervously.
"And their response?" Logan waved his hand in a circular motion, signaling Thomas to continued.
"I'd like nothing more, thanks for asking, sure!" Thomas grinned.
"Wow, that's a nice one right there." Patton nodded.
"Yeah but how are you supposed to reply to that other than K- because I know that's what you want to write." Virgil popped up.
"And we were almost in the clear." Roman sighed as his look of pure hope faded.
"As if you're not happy I'm here." Virgil smirked.
"Anxiety has a point..." Thomas frowned.
"Wow, that's a first." Roman huffed, glancing at the darker trait.
"Thanks, charming." Virgil replied sarcastically.
"Roman, what do I say?" Thomas bit his lip worriedly.
"Well, why are you asking him?" Logan huffed.
"He... is my creative side- this is kind of his job?" Thomas shrugged.
"TELL HIM YOU LOVE HI-"
Logan crossed his arms, "Fine..."
"Well, Logan still has a point there, Thomas- we could always pitch in some times." Patton smiled.
"Oh please, that's like saying Virgil could actually woo someone over." Roman smirked.
"And who says I can't?" Virgil defended himself with a fold of his arms.
"Well, you never have- and you're not exactly a ray of sunshine, all the time." Roman pointed out.
Virgil raised his eyebrows and smirked, turning to Thomas, "Help me out here."
"Uh...alright?" Thomas shrugged and snapped his fingers.
Immediately, a mental version of Joan appeared beside Virgil.
Virgil cleared his throat, turning to Joan to practice, "Watch and learn, sir-sing-a lot...I fell in love with you because you could love me even when I couldn't love myself...and whenever you're around...I love my eyes when you look into them, I love my name when you say it, and I love my life when you're in it...and I do love my life because it gave me you, and I love you because you are my life." Virgil smiled sincerely.
Joan raised both their hands up, "I don't know what this is- but I'm sold!"
Thomas snickered and snapped his fingers again and Joan vanished.
"Well, I think that was absolutely fantastic!" Patton squealed.
"Very well put, I must say, I was touched there even myself." Logan nodded.
"It was fine, I guess..." Roman shrugged, "I️ mean, honestly I️ expected better even from you Virgil, but I guess I️ set the bar too high." Roman flashed a grin.
"Excuse me but-" Virgil scoffed, "The one time I actually do put some effort in something, you're against it?"
Roman bit his lip, not used to Virgil actually taking offense to what he had to say, "I️ simply meant you could-"
"Whatever." Virgil simply shrugged like it hadn't phased him whatsoever, "If you don't mind, I'll be leaving now- I️ don't honestly see the point in staying." Virgil tried to keep up a poker-face but just before he sank down a twinge of hurt could he seen on the aspect's face.
"And this seems to be how it always goes, like an inevitable resolution-." Logan shook his head before looking up, "Well, if that's settled, I'm going to go study my vocabulary index cards." Logan nodded and waved before ducking out to his own room.
"You take it easy kiddos! And just be yourself, Tom boy! I'm sure you'll work it out." Patton giggled and waved his way out to his room.
Thomas opened his mouth to protest but simply let out a sigh of defeat before he nodded and turned to Roman, "I can assume where you're off to?" He gave a small grin.
Roman rolled his eyes, "Yeah, yeah."
"Again."
"Yeah." Roman sighed and mumbled as he sunk down.
Thomas shook his head as he was left alone, turning to his text to respond- though truthfully not using such a heart-felt statement as the anxious trait had expressed.
Roman sighed as he opened the door to Virgil's room, not bothering to knock as he knew he wasn't interrupting anything.
"What.?" Virgil responded, not looking away from his scrolling through Tumblr.
"I...honestly don't know."
Roman shrugged and sat down on the edge of the other's bed, prompting him to scoot away closer to the wall.
"Well, why are you here then? Doesn't Thomas need help with his love-life?"
"...For you I guess."
"To say sorry?" Virgil suggested.
"'Dunno." Roman shrugged once again.
Virgil groaned and set his phone down,
"I'm supposed to be the confused one."
"And I'm supposed to be the romantic one." Roman glanced over at Virgil.
Virgil's face turned a darker shade but he kept a steady, nonchalant look going.
"What was that by the way?" Roman inquired.
"I could ask the same." Virgil mumbled.
"Meaning?"
"Meaning you seemed pretty bothered out there, huh Princey?" Virgil smirked and sat up.
Roman's face flushed up, "I was just- I-"
"Huh, amusing."
"What is?" Roman huffed.
"Your pride." Virgil looked back at his tumblr page, scrolling, though truthfully listening to what Roman had to say, despite it looking like he hadn't a care in the world.
Roman took in a sharp breath, "What's amusing is that little statement you made? Now- where did that come from, I wonder?"
"Just some...thing I found on Tumblr...?" Virgil shrank down, scrolling faster on his phone.
"That may be true but...I've never heard anything like that, all...together and emotional and just-" Roman turned to look at Virgil, "It was..." he blinked as he looked for words, "Very fanciful."
Virgil met Roman's shining gave with round, bewildered eyes, searching for some kind of ground to stand on before simply looking intently on his screen, "Whatever, it wasn't meant for Joan in the first place so does it really matter? We can move on and-"
Roman blinked in confusion, "Excuse me...?"
"What?"
"Not meant for Joan- it was meant for someone?" Roman inquired with a hopeful smirk.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
"Why does that matter right now?" Virgil shrugged, the grip on his phone tightening.
"Well who is this?" Roman felt a small prickle of sharp pain in his chest at the slightest thought of the string of words meant for someone other than himself. It sounded selfish but it was true nonetheless.
Virgil sighed, "You're bothered by this?"
"I never said that."
"It's showing though."
"Is not!"
"Is to, and I'm not arguing on this."
Roman frowned and scooted over to Virgil, "Who. Was. It. For."
"Who do you want it to be for?"
Virgil smirked.
"I️-"
"Exactly, you."
"Your words, not mine." Roman shrugged.
"You are so Jealous."
