It was finally here.
After years of hard work, sleepless nights and eight cups of coffee a day, it was complete. Logan had invented a time machine.
He almost teared up as he surveyed his creation. It was unbelievably fur filling to say the least. To know that he, Logan Maximus Croft, had completed in 26 months what the government had been attempting to program for decades.
He sighed, satisfied. What a time to be alive, it was.
The year is 2334.
Logan was born in 2314, and had known all his life that he was going to accomplish something great. His parents were good middle class people, and he had nothing against their idea of a fur filling life, but Logan wanted a Legacy. He wanted to leave a mark.
And now, thanks to the "Timax" (his friend Roman had come up with the name, he thought Logan wanting to call it Time Machine 01 was outrageous) he finally had a chance to prove to the whole Solar System what he was worth.
You see, since he was a child Logan knew he was different. He didn't mention it, of course, because he would have come off as arrogant, but he knew. By middle school he was attending the best institute on Earth, and for high school he was offered a scholarship by the SSSPS (the Superior School of Science on Planet Saturn), which he gladly took. Ever since he was fourteen he fantasized about creating something so revolutionary that it would change the lives of everyone in the System, and so as soon as he graduated he immediately started working on his project.
A machine that could travel through time...And also space, if necessary.
And now that it was finished, all he had to do was test it. Easy.
He pressed his hand to the scanner to activate the machine, and pressed in a random date.
Logan stood, observing the starting up mechanism he'd worked so hard on. It was just so fur filling to see his creation in function...Anyway, the portal door's lights had switched on, which meant he was all ready to go. The logical man took a deep breath, walked up to the portal and stepped through it.
Suddenly, it felt as if an enormous wave had just washed over him, confusing all his senses. The sensation lasted a couple seconds, till it ceased as abruptly as it begun.
He opened his eyes (not that he'd noticed he'd kept them closed) and surveyed his surroundings. Everything looked rather peculiar.
"Well-" he thought to himself "-I suppose this is what a bedroom used to look like in 2019..."
The whole room had a soft pastel blue aesthetic to it, which gave it an aura of calmness and comfort. It was nice. Maybe a little too bright for Logan himself, but a cozy place. He sat down on the bed, taking a moment to realize what had just happened to him.
Sighing, he stood up from the bed mattress and sat at the desk instead, glancing out of the window. Oh, so this building must have been built prior to his time and then taken down and subsequently re-built to become the house-complex in which Logan lived.
Interesting.
Well, he couldn't stay in a stranger's house forever, could he? He had a whole five days before the machine automatically sucked him back into the present, so he'd better spend them as best as he could. Placing a hand on the desk, he pushed himself up once more, and went to exit the room.
Then, the doorknob started turning.
