TW: kids getting lost, fear of something bad happening to said kids, sobbing and panicking (No panic attacks though)

I don't really know if the second one counts as a trigger, but I just wanted to include it because said bad things are rape and death and I know that can be very triggering for people.

High school au

{Third Person POV}

Patton looked around, panic setting in, Oh God, where are they? He asked himself, running through aisles in the store, almost falling over.

"Patton, dear?" He looked up from playing with his seven and five year old sisters, "Yeah?" "Would you mind babysitting your sisters?" "Of course!" He resumed playing with the two before realizing something.

"Wait, mom!" She stopped by the door, giving her son a confused look, "What?" "Roman invited me to go to the mall, we're supposed to meet in twenty minutes." "Could you take them with you?" "Well, yeah, I guess." she smiled at him, "Thank you dear." she said, kissing his hair, "No problem mom."

She left, Patton going back to the living room and sitting next to his sisters, texting Roman.

Patton-cake💙: RoRo?

Princey👑: yeah?

Patton-cake💙: my mom left for work so I have to bring Aydan and Lili with us to the mall

Princey👑: thats fine! I'll see you there

Patton-cake💙: see ya!:D

He looked over at his sisters, seeing them on a blanket watching the T.V., "Aydan?" The seven year old turned around, "Wanna go to the mall?" She nodded excitedly, "Great! Go get a dress for you and Lili!" She stood and ran into the girls shared room, grabbing two dresses.

She came back and handed them to Patton, "Alright, which ones yours?" "That one!" She pointed at a rose pink dress with white hearts all over it.

After the two were dressed he grabbed his phone, "Ready?" The two nodded, "Alright, let's go."

They got to the mall and Patton seen Roman standing by a store, "Hi Aydan!" She waved, "Hi!" He crouched down in front of the two, "Hi Lili!" She waved shyly, Roman smiling. "Okay, first store!"

They walked in, Aydan quickly running to a shelf with stuffed animals, "Look! Unicorns!" Patton looked, seeing her holding one, "Can I have it Patty??" She asked, bouncing up and down, "Sure! Lili, do you want one?" She nodded and walked over, picking up a stuffed racoon.

"Okay, so you know that boy who calls me Princey all the time?" "Virgil? Yeah." "Well, he has a friend who I think you would pair well with." "You're setting me up with someone?" "Well only if you want to! But I'm just saying you two would be a cute couple"

Aydan turned to her sister, "Why'd you get a racoon?" She asked, "I dunno." she responded, shrugging. "Hm.. okay!" She looked around, "Where'd Patty go?" Lili shrugged again, "Do you think he left?" "Maybe."

"Let's go find him!" She exclaimed, grabbing her arm and walking around the store.

Which is why Patton is now in his current situation, looking for his little sisters in a huge mall, where they could be anywhere.

"Patton?"

He turned, "Yeah, Ro?" "Please try to calm down, where do they like to go at the mall?" "Um... well, there's that candy store..." "Let's go look there then!"

"Virgil?" Logan asked his friend, who turned, "What?" "What stores do you need to go to?" "I dunno, just wanted to look I guess." "Okay... well can we go to that bookstore?" He shrugged, "Sure"

The two walked to the bookstore in the mall, "Wait, Virgil." He stopped, "What?" He pointed at the entrance of a candy store, showing two little girls walking by themselves. "That's concerning." Virgil said, Logan nodding, "We should help them." "Defiantly."

The two walked to the little girls, "Excuse me?" Logan asked, crouching down the the girl's level, "Where are your parents?" "Daddy's in the ground." one of the girl's said, "Oh.. okay, do you have a mom?" She nodded, "Great, where is she?"

"At work, she's a doctor! Like Doc Mcstuffins!" He gave her a small smile before talking, "Who did you come with then?" "Our big brother!" "What's his name?" Virgil asked, "Patty!" "Okay, where is he?" "We don't know, we're trying to find him."

"Well would you like some help?" She nodded, "Okay, come on." He stood and took the girl's hand, "What's your name?" Virgil asked as they walked. "My name is Aydan! I don't like it though, it's a boy name. An' her name is Lili! Like the flower." "Okay, well my name is Logan, and that's Virgil"

Patton ran to the candy store, Roman jogging behind him, "'Scuse me?" He asked a woman, "Have you seen two little girls? The taller one has short, blond hair, the other has the same hair style, but brunette hair." she shook her head, "I'm sorry." "It's fine, c'mon Ro"

"We should take them to the lost kids center." Virgil said as they walked, "Good idea Virgil." They walked up to a cash register, a playpen with little kids in it next to it. "Can we drop these two off? We found them by the candy store." Logan told him, showing the two girls.

The man smiled and Logan watched as the two girls immediately hid behind him. "Actually, nevermind, I recognize them." he turned and Virgil gave him a questioning look, "You've never seen these girls in your life" "No, I have not, but it's obvious these two don't like him and I'm not leaving them with him."

"The lost kids center!" Patton turned to his friend, "Do that many kids get lost?" "You'd be surprise."

The two walked over, seeing there wasn't an adult there, "Odd.." Patton nodded, "Who're you looking for?" A kid asked, "Two little girls." "What do they look like?"

"Oh! Well the taller one has short, blond hair and the other has the same hair style but brunette hair." "Oh yeah, they went with two men." "What?!" Patton turned to his friend, "Roman, they're with two men! They're little girls! They're innocent!" He paused, "They're wearing dresses!"

He started tearing up, feeling tears fall, "Roman! I lost my sisters! My sisters!" Roman nodded, hugging the boy, Patton sobbing in his chest.

"What does your brother look like?" "Well... uh, I don't know. I can draw him!" They stopped and Virgil took off his backpack, pulling out a notebook and pencil. "There ya go" he said as he handed them to her.

She quickly began drawing and handed it to Logan.

The picture was of a boy with round glasses and was wearing a hoodie and ripped jeans, with little cat ears on his head. "That's cute." He said to himself, "Well what colour is his hoodie?" "The colour of the sky!" "And the ears?" "Grey, and they're real fluffy too! Like a real cat's."

"Okay, anything else about him?" "He has freckles." Lili said, "An' his friend was with him." "Well what does his friend look like?" Virgil asked. Aydan grabbed the notebook and pencil again and drew another picture, handing it to Logan.

This picture was of a boy wearing a T-shirt with a picture of the Disney castle on the front and much like the other boy, had ripped jeans and a small backpack on. "What colour is his shirt?" "White, but the castle is rainbow." "The backpack?" "Red with little buttons on them."

He nodded, "Alright, this helps a lot, let's go find them."

Patton collapsed on a bench, laying his head on Roman's shoulder, "I failed." He said, "I lost my little sisters, they could be dead, or... or.." He trailed off, not wanting to think about what could have happened to the two little girls.

"We can go look more, there's a whole other part of the mall to look through." he nodded, "Yeah, there's still hope."

It was much harder trying to find the girl's brother than they thought. "Wait, what about those two." Virgil pointed at two boys standing from a bench.

Logan scanned the drawings, wanting to make sure they were the right people.

Hoodie?

Ripped jeans?

Check

Check

He walked up to the two, Aydan and Lili behind him.

"Excuse me?"

He turned and Logan could see he had been crying, "Are these your sisters?" He asked as he moved, revealing the two girls.

"Aydan! Lili!" He hugged the two tightly, tears streaming down his face again. "Patty.. I, I can't breath.." He pulled away quickly, "Oh! I'm sorry kiddo!"

He got up and looked at the stranger before hugging him tight, "Thank you so, so, sooo much." Logan smiled, hugging him back, "No problem." "No, really, thank you. I don't know what I would've done if I couldn't find them."

Patton pulled away and fixed Logan's glasses, since they had gotten messed up from their hug. "I should probably introduce myself huh?" He held his hand out, "I'm Patton." Logan smiled, shaking his hand, "Logan."

"God, how can I thank you?" He asked, "Oh, you don't need to" "No, really, how?" Roman grabbed Patton's sleeve, pulling him back, "That's the boy I wanted to set you up with." He whispered to him, "Wait, that's the boy you wanted to set me up with?"

Logan looked over and Patton felt himself go pink, "Yeah, it is." "Oh." He walked back over to where Logan was, "Well, do you wanna do the date thing?" "Yes, actually." He smiled, "Okay." "Okay."

Aydan walked over to Logan, pulling at his shirt, "Yes, Aydan?" She gestured for him to go down to her height and he did.

"You should kiss him!" she whispered, but not very well because Patton heard and turned a dark red, "Oh, well I don't know, me and your brother don't know each other very well." Patton nodded, "Well what about on his head? Like how mommy's do?"

This time she had said it a little quieter so Patton didn't hear, "That's a good idea Aydan." He stood and kissed the top of his head, Patton grinning. "Yaaay!" Aydan cheered, clapping, "Yeah, yaaay!" Roman joined in, clapping.

I actually like this one it turned out much better (and longer) than I expected.
