{Third Person POV}
"That dress is a monstrosity." Virgil said as he reached over for one of his many make-up brushes.
"It is not. Your make-up just doesn't match it." Roman retorted as he added finishing touches to the sky blue ballgown Patton was wearing.
"So you're telling me gold doesn't go with sky blue?" Virgil asked, applying the gold eyeshadow to Patton's eyelid.
"Guys could you no-"
"Don't open your eyes."
"Don't move."
Patton sighed but listened to the two as they finished the make-up and dress.
"Virgil, Roman, is Patton ready yet?" Logan asked as he walked backstage to where the three were.
"Just a second." Roman said as he picked up his scissors.
"Please don't stab Virgil." Logan told him, "I'm cutting the string!" Roman defended.
Logan stared at him for a moment, not fully believing him. "Whatever you say." He says, walking off to check on the other models.
"Okay, no pressure, but this dress spent weeks to design and months to make, so... don't mess up." Roman said as he stood back up, setting his scissors to the side.
"Also," Virgil began, "There's critics. Granted, they're probably paying attention to Princey's outfits and not my make-up as much, if you mess up it may be horrible for both of us."
"Ever heard of "good luck" and "break a leg"?" Patton asked as he slipped on his heels, "Good luck." "Break a leg."
"Gee thanks." Patton muttered as he carefully walked over to the runway entrance.
~
The show went on as other shows did, Patton twirled and posed and sashayed, looking absolutely stunning as he did so, the people in the audience flashing their cameras for pretty photos that would later be in magazines.
"Y'know, I think you should start designing more comfortable clothes." Patton told Roman as he walked out of the dressing room with the dress in his hands, "I love the designs and all, but it's a little hard to do things with corsets."
"Well the only reason you needed to this time was because I wanted to be historically accurate, and sure, men didn't wear corsets back then, but then they wouldn't fit in with the women models." Roman explained as he picked up his sketchbook, "But sure, I can design more comfortable things for once."
"Ooh! Can I help?" Patton asked excitedly. "Of course!" Roman exclaimed, Patton had helped him with many other designs, so he was sure that he could help this time.
"Hey Vee, you can help too!" Patton called out to the other.
Virgil glanced at Patton through the mirror he was using and raised a brow at the odd suggestion, him and Roman didn't get along well, why would Patton want him to help the two come up with something?
But saying no to most anyone, but especially Patton, is virtually impossible for Virgil.
"Fine. But let me finish my make-up." He said with a sigh as he continued applying his make-up in the vanity mirror.
"Great!" Patton responded and reached over and grabbed a pencil to sketch with Roman and add notes, since his handwriting was much more readable than Roman's.
Virgil continued on with his make-up as Patton and Roman began with the designs, thinking about how odd it was Patton wanted him to join. Sure, Patton and himself got along perfectly, but Roman and himself bickered when together.
As he was thinking intently about it, he noticed something.
Roman hadn't protested.
Which was very unlike Roman, considering the two didn't get along well when interacting, and Roman not protesting about Virgil helping doesn't make much sense to him.
It's probably nothing. He thought as he picked up his lip liner.
When Virgil finished his make-up he grabbed a pencil and one of his own notebooks, going over to sit with the other two.
He plopped down next to Patton, who was leaned over and helping Roman with a design.
Virgil, not exactly knowing what to do, began sketching on a blank piece of paper.
Roman, while he was trying to listen to the suggestions Patton was making, couldn't help but notice the darkly dressed man as he began sketching in his notebook. He seemed very focused as he drew and he found himself admiring how focused he was, he thought of it as almost cute.
"Roman. Roman, are you listening?" Patton asked, looking up from the paper and at the other.
"Um..." Roman thought about lying to Patton or telling the truth when lucky for Roman, Patton's phone rang.
"Hang on," he said as he answered his phone.
Roman tuned out the conversation and looked at the design him and Patton made.
There was a drawing of a model, of course, and they were wearing a simple jacket.
Roman frowned at the drawing. While things that are simple can be beautiful, such as a red rose or a monarch butterfly, Roman loves extravagant things, which includes clothing.
Which is one of the reasons the clothes Patton and the other models wore for shows were so extra and mildly uncomfortable when going down runways, to stand out.
Granted, Patton was explaining something and was probably talking about ways to make it seem like Roman's usual style.
He felt a tap on his shoulder and turned to Patton, who was now not on his phone, "Sorry Ro, Logan and I have date night."
"Did you forget again?" Roman asked and Patton sighed as he stood from the chair, "Yeah... But Lo understands that I'm busy, so he's not really mad at me." He explained, grabbing his things.
"Anyways, bye guys!" The two said bye and Patton walked out of the room, leaving Virgil and Roman alone.
When he had completely left it was all quiet, except for the scribbling of Virgil's pencil as he drew.
Roman, although, stared blankly at the same page Patton was talking about earlier, attempting to recall anything Patton had suggested, but he couldn't remember anything.
Great.
He looked over at Virgil, he couldn't really see his face, considering he was crouched down with his hair falling in front of his face.
He wondered how he could even see what he was drawing.
"Hey, Virgil?"
"What is it Princey?" He asked, looking up at him, his curly hair falling messily on one side of his face.
"Just wondering what kind of ideas you had." He said with a shrug, "I don't really have much."
"Oh. Yeah, I have one." He said as he moved his hair back to it's original place and ripped the paper he was drawing on previously out of the notebook, handing it to the other.
Roman took it and inspected the drawing.
It had the model wearing a long, flowy dress, the dress was so long in fact it went off the page. The sleeves, which were poofy, seemed as if it would be on Cinderella's dress.
The dress seemed as if it was a combination of things from other dresses, a flowy skirt, puffy sleeves, and off to the side were gloves with frills at the end.
By looking at the drawings Roman could tell it would be comfortable, considering the skirt, and it was beautiful.
"It's probably not great." Virgil mumbled, tapping the pencil against his notebook.
"No, they're great." Roman said as he handed him the page, "Here, I don't know what to do with this." He said, handing Virgil the notebook with the drawing of the jacket.
"Oh, okay." Virgil took the notebook and thought for a moment, biting the end of the pencil briefly before adding onto the design of the jacket.
Roman had the urge to watch Virgil design the jacket but looked away, knowing that someone watching you draw isn't the best thing in the world.
"How's this?" Virgil asked once he was done, showing Roman the jacket.
Virgil had added patches randomly to the jacket, showing lines connecting the patches and jacket to stand as thread.
That was it, simple as that.
Though Roman absolutely loved it, it looked comfortable and practical, but the patches, if the right color scheme, could make it stand out.
"I had the idea that on the back there could be a kinda of diamond shape with writing or something on it." Virgil with with a shrug, "Or maybe you can stitch a logo on the chest part." He added quietly.
"Virgil, this is amazing!"
"It is?" He asked, tilting his head to the right slightly.
"It is! You should be a fashion designer instead!" Virgil chuckled, shaking his head "No, I'm good with make-up thank you very much."
"Well will you help me?" Roman asked and Virgil shrugged, "Sure, why not?"
As the two worked and talked and sketched, Virgil wondered why everything felt so different now.
Not anything bad that is, just something odd. He doesn't know exactly what it is, but he knows it has something to do with Roman and himself.
"Virgil, what's your favorite color?" Roman asked, looking up from the sketch.
Roman honestly didn't know Virgil's favorite color, he onky really wore black, sometimes with purple, albeit he wasn't sure if that was his favorite color.
"Purple. Well, and black. Why?"
"Just wondering." Roman responded, writing a note to the side of the paper.
Virgil was suspicious.
No big surprise really.
"But why?"
"Well.. you gave me these designs, I figured the clothes could be your favorite color."
Virgil smiled, face tinting pink just barely.
"That's sweet." He said finally, and he meant it, that was nice of Roman to do, and to be perfectly honest Virgil didn't expect him to be nice.
The two had only really interacted when working, then Virgil would usually go home unless Patton convinced him to stay longer. Either way Roman and Virgil wouldn't talk much, and Virgil didn't care to.
But as he worked/spoke with him he slowly started to learn that no, he wasn't stuck-up or rude, he was actually quite sweet.
To Virgil, anyway.
And he actually found himself thinking that he wouldn't mind spending more time with the other.
So that's what happened, the two would talk more and meet up, usually at cáfes to discuss designs, cloths, and color schemes, which were going to all be purple with black or white accents.
But sometimes the two would meet up to simply just talk, not to plan anything, just... talk.
Both of them liked those moments.
~
It was finally time for the show.
After months of working on all the outfits, it was time.
Roman had told all the models about how the clothes were much more comfortable and they all seemed relieved.
"Virgil, there you are!" Roman exclaimed as he rushed towards the other.
The show had been going on for a while now, though the jacket Virgil had designed hadn't been modeled yet.
"What is it, Princey?" He asked, looking up from the magazine he was mindlessly flicking through.
"I have an idea~" he sang.
"Now that's surprising." Virgil teased and Roman rolled his eyes, "Funny. Anywho, I need you to put the jacket you designed on."
"Like, with what I'm wearing?"
"Yep!"
Virgil, while confused, complied and took off his usual black jacket, replacing it with the black and purple one.
"Great! I'll be right back."
Roman skipped off and Virgil stood next to where he was once sitting, confusion decorating his features.
Just then Patton walked by, Logan next to him as the two spoke. Patton was wearing a black frilly shirt, purple jeans, and a white belt. He also had a purple bow with black polka dots. Logan had on a simple button up dress shirt with a tie. The shirt black and the tie purple to match with the theme.
"Hi Vee!" Patton waved to his friend and Virgil waved back. "Why are you wearing that jacket?" Logan asked and Virgil shrugged, "Prince Charming just told me to."
"That's weird." Patton commented, "But not as weird as the word weird." He added as an after thought.
"Anywho, Logan and I have to go, see you later though!" Pattom waved goodbye to Virgil and he waved goodbye back.
Just as the couple were walking away Roman appeared, wearing the first dress Virgil had designed, gloves and all.
Virgil felt his breath catch at seeing Roman in- well, not exactly his clothes, but clothes he had designed, he looked remarkable.
"You... you look great." Virgil said, not being able to form the words he wanted to use to express just how amazing the other looked.
There was none, he decided, to describe the way he looked.
"Thanks!" Roman chirped, a smile on his face.
"Anyways, why did you want me to wear this?" Virgil asked, gesturing to the jacket he was wearing.
"Well the idea I had was for us to go down the runway together!"
Virgil froze.
While it was tempting to do, all those people would be watching him, since they've never seen Virgil go on the runway.
And just thinking about all the critics and how he would be in magazines was starting to make him feel sick to his stomach, all the eyes and-
His worries were cut short by Roman taking Virgil's hand with his own gloved hand, "If you want to, that is."
"I do." Virgil said before he had completely thought of an answer.
Too late now.
"Perfect! C'mon!" Roman led him to the entrance of the runway as the last models walked down.
Virgil, while nervous more than anything, couldn't help but smile at Roman's almost childish glee.
When the last models entered backstage Roman took Virgil's hand and led him down the runway.
Roman was twirling in the dress, the skirt flowing out elegantly, it looked as if he's done this a million times.
Meanwhile Virgil timidly walked down the runway next to him, and while he didn't know many things about going down a runway, he did know they had to actually see the clothes.
So he made sure they could.
The flashing lights were hurting his eyes slightly, and the music was starting to give him a headache, it was much louder than it was backstage.
Roman noticed Virgil not really knowing what to do and took his hand again, twirling him.
Virgil smiled when he was facing Roman again and the two continued, Roman guiding the other down to the end of the runway.
Roman once again spun Virgil, this time dipping him. Virgil giggled as Roman helped him stand normally, his face was a bright shade of red, Roman's matching.
And then the two were kissing.
Neither knew who leaned in first, and it really depended on who you asked later on.
If you asked Virgil he'd say Roman leaned in, and if you asked Roman he'd say Virgil leaned in.
But both didn't really care who did, they just loved the moment.
Except the lights and music that is.
When they pulled away Virgil almost tackled Roman into a hug, and as he stumbled, attempting to steady himself, he was also smiling.

Amazing how when I don't write prinxiety for a while when I do it turns out amazing.
Well, I thought it was.
Which is defiantly an oddity for me to say my writing is amazing.
Anyways,
Bi~❤💛💚💙💜
