Thomas Pov
It's been three months since the Alex and Maria thing. Everything has been rolling smoothly. I have noticed how much Alex and Aaron Burr hate each other. Aaron will go out of his way to make fun of Alex, and Al will obliterate Burr in debates. When I say that I mean like Alex will make pages of just snarky remarks and then get into whatever he's talking about.
I walked down the hall with my earbuds in when I saw Lexi and Aaron yelling at each other. Actually more Lex yelling and Aaron just smiling sarcastically. Can you smile sarcastically? Whatever.
Anyways it's a pretty normal thing to see so I kept walking. Then Theo, Burrs girlfriend, started yelling at Alex. That's when I stopped. I took out one of my earbuds. "YOU IMMIGRANT BASTARD ORPHAN!" Jeez. Theo is usually really nice.
Alex smirked and said something that I couldn't hear. Aaron's face dropped. He walked up to Alex and punched him right in the jaw. He went straight down, and stayed down. "Alex!" I exclaimed. I ran up to them and started examining him.
"Learn how to control your stupid bastard." Burr said. I stood up and squared my jaw.
"What?" I asked.
Burr suddenly got very nervous.
"I-I....I mean....uh..."
"Let me rephrase. Why did you just spew out that fucking insult that you call a sentence?" I said, towering over him. Alex groaned and started to regain his wits. He jumped up and yelled "Bitch!" And took off his shoe and threw it at Burr. It clocked him right in the face. Theo watched with her eyes wide. Alex kneeled down to Burr and said "At least this immigrant orphan has some fucking decency."
Theo heard that and shouted "DECENCY? ALEXANDER HAMILTON AND DECENCY DONT MIX! HOW STUPID ARE YOU?!" Alex turned around slightly confused. I was even more confused. This was coming from Theo? Has Burr possessed her body?
Huh?" Al said. Theo walked up to him grabbed his collar and said "You heard me. You are trash Hamilton. Wait no! Not even trash! Your the sticky goo that's on the bottom of a trash can. I've met some pretty fucked up people Hamilton, but you? You're just fucking insane."
She let go of his collar. By now Burr was standing up. They both left. "You okay?" I asked him. He wiped his hands on his pants. "Yeah. I'm fine." He sniffled and we walked back to our dorm.

Alexander Pov
I started thinking about what Theodorsia had said. Which lead me to thinking, am I even worth anybody's time? It's not like I'm going to get anywhere in life. Just another person in the crowd. I sighed. The thing is, I'm aware of my problems but I don't know how to fix them.
Thomas came out of the bathroom and sat down next to me. "You sure you're alright? I didn't know Theo could throw such an insult."
"Yeah, me neither. She's kind of scary now that I think about it." I said running my hand through my hair.
"I wonder what set her off." Thomas said. "Yeah. Me too."
The next morning I got up and went on a walk. I do that on Saturday mornings a lot now.
I was deep in thought until I heard sobbing. I looked up to see Aaron curled up in a ball, crying his eyes out.

'I've met some pretty fucked up people Hamilton, but you? You're just fucking insane.'

"Hey are you okay?" I asked jogging up to him. He shook his head no and continued to cry. "Hey. Hey it's okay. It's going to be alright." I told him, rubbing his back.
"No.. no it's not. S-she's... dying." He choked out.
"Who? Who's dying?" I asked. He wiped his eyes and stared at his legs. "Theo. She has cancer." He said with a pained look on his face. "How long until..." I trailed off.
"A month left." He sniffled. "A month left until she's just...gone." I started to tear up a bit. I hugged him. Why the fuck did I just hug Aaron Burr. I let go of him. "I'm sorry for dragging you into this Hamilton."
"You didn't drag me into anything Burr." I said getting up. I walked back to my dorm. I don't feel like going on a walk anymore.
