Suspision
A/N:sorry that this update took awhile. I had to work on some of my other stories and drafts that I have. So I didn't have much time to even write a draft for this.
Erin's POV
I walked through the village in my old corset and white gown. My shoes where dirty from the dirt path and my hair was messy from me moving around in my sleep. I looked around me. What surrounded made me sick. People suffering, illness, filth. I didn't blame the peasants for being so poor, I blamed Mika. He made life for his subjects a living hell. He didn't care one bit for his subjects. I no longer cared for him one bit in return. I looked around at my surroundings. There where prostitutes littering the streets, people begging, and more. It made me sick.
"Hey! Mary!" Lexi said, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"What is it?" I asked.
"We're visiting Farlan's family not the market! C'mon!" She said. Pulling me towards Farlan's house. But when we got inside, there where Knights. What were they doing here?
"Mr church, please try to understand. Your wife is considered a suspect to princess Erin's death! We just need to talk to her." The knight said. Hey, I know him. Isn't that, Erwin?
"I've told you for the second time, my wife is out getting groceries. She isn't here at the moment. Also, what exactly makes her a suspect for Princess Erin's murder?" Farlan asked.
"Listen, I'm not fully onboard with some of Mika's orders. I'm not even one of his Knights, I'm actually a knight from the Yeager family. I'm only here because of Erin's capture and death. I'm not sure why Mika thinks your wife is a suspect. But he does. And I'm only following his orders. So- wait.." Erwin said, noticing me and Lexi,"who are you two?" Lexi frowned.
"That's my sister Lexi sir, and her fiancé Mary. They don't have anything to do with this. They're just visiting." Farlan explained. Erwin looked at me closer. I stared right back at him.
"You look familiar, Mary. Have I seen you around before?" He asked.
"Probably, I've only been here for a month." I answered.
"Hmm. Your face looks very similar to princess Erin's." He said.
"I can assure I'm not princess Erin. It's probably just a coincidence. After all, I have seen people with a face similar to hers before." I explained.
"How do you know what she looks like?" He asked.
"I got to see her when she was walking through the village.but that's the only time I got to see her." I explained. Erwin didn't seem to buy it at first. But then gave up.
"Good enough, do you ladies know where Mrs, church is?" He asked.
"Like I said, she's out getting groceries!" Farlan said.
"I know, but what exactly is she getting? The market is to big, so to say she's just getting stuff from the market only helps us have more trouble finding her." He explained. Lexi and I shrugged.
"She didn't elaborate on what she was getting. Though she's probably at an apple stand or something." Farlan said. Erwin backed off from us and then turned his attention back to farlan. That was close. If he found out that I was lying, then this family would've been executed! They continued on with their conversation as Lexi pulled me out the door.
"Where are we going now?" I asked.
"Home." She said.
"What about Mrs Church and Isabel! If they put up any resistance then Mika won't hesitate to have them executed! He killed Petra, do you think he'll hesitate to kill them?" I said. Lexi looked at me.
"They can handle themselves." Lexi said.
"Are you sure? If they're seen as guilty, they'll be killed! Those guards have swords and armor! Isabel is a little kid!" I said.
"I have faith in them that they won't make the wrong decision." Lexi replied. I looked back at the house to see Isabel and her mom at the front door as we walked through the crowd and towards our home. May god have mercy on your soul! I thought as we Walked away.
A/N: sorry that it's short. The updates might take a while since I have some other stories to work on.
