I don't know if things really can get any worse than this.

My name is Charnette Melanth Duskstone, the only daughter of Eve Duskstone. Her last name is ironic since she practiced light magic and was an exceptional healer. One of the most powerful in fact.

I never knew about my father, except from my mom, who told me that even though he practiced dark magic, he really did care for her. He cared for her so much, that he sent her to a far away country for her safety because of a witch hunt that was occuring, and she was pregnant with me at the time.

Over time, I learned how to balance my powers, but because of who we were, we had to stay in hiding, and it worked until I was 14.

That was when mother passed away. She became very sick one day, and not even my magic was strong enough to heal her. I felt so helpless.

The least I could do for her was to bury her out of everyone's sight.

Before her death, she gave me a unique talisman which had markings of both light and dark magic. She said that this would one day reunite me with my dad.

The hard part was surviving.

I had to keep my power on the down low, and spent a few months in an abandoned cave as my sanctuary.

It was raining when it suddenly happened.

The Dark Mirror appeared.

It called out to me....

And I answered.

Little did I know that by that little action, it would lead me to my destiny and the discovery of my identity.
