CARMEN WAS SURPRISED when she came home to Chris after dropping Bridget off at school. She did not expect to come home to Chris, freshly shaven, and making breakfast for the two of them while feeding Rogers small pieces of bacon. He was only alerted of her presence she let out an audible gasp and drew closer to him. Carmen cupped his jaw in her hands and gently ran her fingers down his smooth skin.
"It's gone," she muttered, looking up at him as she pouted.
Chris laughed, "Only for a little while, princess. It'll be back in a week or two." He grinned, "Until then, you get to feel the scruff."
"I miss it." She whined.
He shook his head, gently laying his hands on her waist as he pulled her closer. Chris ducked down, quickly kissing her.
"Hey, no scratch." He smirked, picking up his head and pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead.
Carmen continued to pout, jutting out her bottom lip and running her fingers down his jaw. Chris couldn't help the laughter because he knew she wasn't being overly serious. She may have missed the beard, but it would be back, he hated shaving his face and would become lazy at some point.
She then replaced the pout with a small smile and leaned up to kiss him. "I still love you."
"I love you too, princess." Chris whispered, "You up for some eggs and bacon, or is my child giving you a hard time still?"
Carmen grinned, her hand going to rest on her stomach as she glanced down. She giggled, "I think the little bean will let me eat."
He kissed her cheek and turned around for the dishes to make their plates. "I'm sorry that our child likes to give you a hard time," he apologized, handing Carmen her breakfast. He then laughed, "But I'm not sorry for getting you pregnant either."
She laughed, "You're a jerk."
"But you love me." He grinned.
Carmen nodded, "I love you, but you're still a jerk, Christopher."
Chris turned as Carmen sat down at the table and smiled. He kissed her temple before sitting down himself with his own food.
"I'm sure she won't be giving you much trouble soon." Chris shrugged.
"She?" Carmen exclaimed playfully, "It's definitely a boy."
He argued, "It's most definitely a girl."
She rolled her eyes, "It's too early to tell anyway. Mother intuition says its a boy."
