Ever since the time Secretary Frederick appeared before Arima Kousei, the truth about his identity circulated all over Japan. News about who he is scattered like wildfire that the Japanese Government and the Atlantian Royal House weren't able to control it anymore which made Kousei realize that he can't live normally as a child living in Japan anymore since everyone knew his real identity. He's a prince and he has to accept what circulates in his blood.
His house in Japan began to be bombarded by journalists, reporters and photographers locally and internationally after Frederick Dane revealed the truth about who he is in a State Press Conference with the Prime Minister who faced the media to explain why his identity was hidden to the public. In that press conference, he learned that his identity was hidden because his mother wanted him to live far from the Royal Family until he become twenty-one years old where he could choose whether to accept his royal blood or stay as a commoner but due to the death of Crown Prince Leonardo, even if he has elder sisters in Atlantis, only a male could be an heir which means, in his brother's death, he automatically became the new Crown Prince even if he came from his father's second wife who left the Royal Palace to live in Japan. He also cannot choose if he would want to be a commoner or stay as a prince since he knows he has responsibility to his father's country. He knew by then that he will be taught to rule the country and understand their constitution. His mother had chosen to stay in Japan for health reasons than to stay in the Empire of Atlantis.
Japan and the Atlantian Empire does have the same advanced technology, most especially in medical technology but since his mother knew that she would die because of her illness, she wanted to die in Japan than far from her homeland. She studied music and worked as a musician in Atlantis. As a pianist in Atlantis, Emperor Richard III, Kousei's biological father, met Arima Saki when she was still a Crown Prince. In the Atlantian Culture, even if they have all become Christians, the immediate Royal Family's the only one allowed to marry two women or men as wives or husbands since they needed to keep producing heirs for the dynasty to continue. He was already married back then with Adrianna but he had also fallen in love with her.
Richard promised her that she will be happy with her and his first wife will accept her. Adrianna and Saki became friends in the end even if Adrianna was hurt when Richard cheated on her. They were also the only wives of the Crown Prince. A year later, Richard became emperor after his father passed away. Leonard, who was only nine years old at that time became the Crown Prince.
Adrianna gave birth to two more royal children but they're both women.
Six years after Richard and Saki married, Saki gave birth to Kousei. Even so, at the time Kousei reached the age of nine, he witnessed Empress Adrianna shouting at her mother in her room.
At the same time, months after that event, he and his mother left Atlantis to live in Japan. He had also began to realize that her mother is sick.
The Atlantian sent Royal Guards to protect the young prince whenever he had to attend press conferences because of how many people were trying to get near him. He was advised by Frederick not to answer anything since he will be the one to answer the media's questions for him. He's glad that he doesn't need to answer and say anything to them. He returned back in his house that night after all of the tedious work because of the huge revelation about his identity.
Kousei stared at the white military uniform hanging in his dresser and a silver crown placed in his cabinet inside his room. He's still wearing his gold, royal clothes given by Frederick. Seto Hiroko visited him that day and found him tiredly staring at his new royal clothes he would begin wearing when he go back in Atlantis.
"I thought I will never return to Atlantis, Seto-san," he said to her. "Mom wanted me to be a pianist, not to be a future king. I never thought I will be a Crown Prince."
Hiroko walked closer to him. She could see that he's silently grieving his brother's sudden death. "Kousei, I believe there is a reason why you will return to Atlantis. I am also sure your brother will be a force who could help you fulfill your future duties as a member of the Royal Family."
"I wonder how my friends will accept the truth about who I am," he said to her.
"Your friends are waiting downstairs, Kousei. They finally got in here after Frederick and your bodyguards talked to the reporters outside. They were able to get in this house now," she said to him. "Don't be afraid. I'm sure they'll be able to accept who you really are."
"Thank you," Kousei told her.
Inside the dining room that night in his home, Watari Ryota, Sawabe Tsubaki and Miyazono Kaori stared at Kousei who's wearing a gold coat and tie. There were three, gold stars embroidered at the back of his coat that he's wearing. He's also wearing white pants. White and Gold are the national color of Atlantian Empire.
"So, you're really a—," Tsubaki began to speak but while her eyes scrutinize him, she knew that Kousei had hidden the truth about who he truly is. He's really a Royal Prince and it's not just gossip. They couldn't even recognize the man who stood in front of them because of the difference of his aura from the Arima Kousei they know. He's refined, polished, classic and sophisticated. He doesn't look like the innocent and simple boy they know.
"Forgive me if I hid the truth. I'm not a Japanese citizen from the very beginning. I have my mother's Japanese blood but in my official records, I am not Japanese. I'm an Atlantian Prince. My father had accepted to keep me here and hide my identity after my mother chose to leave the royal palace six years ago to raise me here while she's sick. I hope you stay as my friends even if you already know my true identity," he said to them with his eyes staring back at them.
He knew that as a prince and now that his identity was revealed, he can't keep on acting like a normal boy anymore. He has to stand in front of people with strong authority and power. His friends couldn't believe that he's a Royal Prince.
He stepped closer to Kaori who seemed very astonished and worried. He hugged her tight. "I still love you, Kaori. I would tell my father to recognize you as my girlfriend."
"Thank you, Kousei," she said to him. "I really am worried what could happen to our relationship after your real identity was uncovered."
"So, are you a pure Atlantian...," Watari Ryota gulped and began saying, "Your Highness?"
Kousei chuckled upon the time he heard his friend address him with who he really is. "I believe I have to get used to it again. It's been a long time that I have heard people address me with those words meant for us," he said to them. "I'm Half- Japanese. My mother is a Japanese commoner who became a Lady in Court after her marriage with my father. He's my father's second wife."
At the same time, the heavy atmosphere lightened.
"I miss going into the vast forests where my brother and I would play and hunt rabbits. Crown Prince Leonardo and I were very close since we're the only direct male royal descendants who could replace father in his position," he said to them.
"I hope we could visit you after you go back home!" Kaori said to him.
He held her hand and promised her, "I'll tell my father about you. I'm sure he'll love you."
"Thank you, Prince Kousei," Kaori addressed him with a blush on her cheeks.
