Domino

James was currently in his room, he had a bunch of tools on the table and lots of blueprints everywhere. Daphne soon entered the room and she saw that he was busy.

"Dinner will be ready soon" said Daphne.

"Alright, thanks. Just give me a few minutes" said James as he used the flame on his fingertip as a welder.

"Don't take too long, wouldn't want you engrossed in your work" said Daphne as she left.

"Almost there and.......done" said James.

He then lifted the machine up and looked at it from side to side.

"The first ever time machine......I just hope it works. If it does, there are many things that I can redo and make it right. Like that incident when I went out of whack and went berserk on my fairy friends. Heck I could even go back and prevent that bastard from raping my friends at the temple, at least they would have their vir....vir......I don't want to say it" thought James as he blushed.

He soon put the machine down and headed out to have dinner with his family.

Next day

"Ok, better get this done before my family finds out" said James.

After strapping the machine to his torso, he then inputted several complicated mathematical calculations.

"As much as I would love to change things, I better give this thing a test first. Let's see.........well there is this planet in the milky way galaxy......a place called Earth if I'm not wrong. Ok, changing destination" said James.

Just as James changed the destination, a nearby computer started beeping. He immediately rushed to check on it.

"What's wrong? Hm........there's a slight irregularity in the magnetic field, its nothing major but it is something to take note of" thought James.

It wasn't long until James pressed a button on the machine and he started vibrating. Then suddenly things seemed to move past from James at a high speed, he then disappeared and all traces of him was gone.

James didn't know how to describe the feeling he was feeling at the moment. If he really had to describe it, he would say that his molecules are being scattered from one place to the other.

He could see visions or places zooming past him and it was incredible. Just as he was enjoying himself, the device on his wrist began beeping.

"What the....?" wondered James.

Suddenly James began moving faster and he was shocked. He checked his strapped on computer and he was shocked to see that he was moving past the Earth along with the time period that he wanted to visit.

"Alright this is getting out of hand, reset now!" said James.

However, the moment James pressed the button....nothing happened. Now he began to panic, this wasn't supposed to happen.

"I suppose it was better to test this in the lab!" shouted James.

Then all of a sudden, just as things began to get worse.......everything came to a halt and James fell unconscious due to fatigue.

He did not know how long he was unconscious for but he knew that he had a big problem the moment he woke up. Where he ended up was quite unexpected, it looked like a cosmic place. As far as the eye could see, galaxies and various stars could be seen.

As much as he wanted to stay and observe more, he had to get back home. He quickly tapped the button various times but there was no response.

"Just great, now what am I supposed to do. I could try and hotwire this thing but that may take me a long time. My family is no doubt going to be worried" thought James.

"That all depends on you" said a voice.

James looked around in shock, he wasn't expecting anyone here.

"You were not the visitor I was expecting but the course of destiny can change" said the voice.

Then right in front of James was a light, then the light began to take shape and in no time at all...right in front of James left him speechless. It was something he never thought he would see in his lifetime, the source of his power...the great dragon itself.

"You're.......how can this be?" asked James.

The dragon then stared at James, it looked deep within his soul and it soon approached him.

"Do you know where you are?" asked the great dragon.

"No but I can see galaxies.....lots of galaxies" said James.

"You are at the beginning of everything, the dawn of creation" said the great dragon.

"You mean........just after you created life?" asked James.

"Yes, if you want to think of it that way. Now then, why are you here?" asked the great dragon.

"Well....my lord......I was testing a time machine, wanted to visit Earth but as you can see......I've gone far off from my intended destination" said James.

"Then allow me to present you with an opportunity for redemption" said the great dragon.

"Redemption?" asked James.

Then right behind James was another glowing object, he turned around to see a white light. Moving closer, he could see a thin piece of cloth within the orb of light and he soon reached out for the orb. He could feel its power, it was tremendous but it also felt familiar to him.

"I do not know why but you still carry a great sadness in your heart, would you care to share with me why?" asked the great dragon.

After taking a deep breath, he began his explanation with the topic of fairies. He explained what he knew about them, what they did and how their main priority was to always use their powers protect others.

"Of course, the major thing that still gets me is that fairies are always female. Girls if you will" said James.

"Is that so? Interesting.....I just wanted to know what was the cause of your sadness but there might be more to the story than I originally had thought. Oh......however, now that you've told me this......it has to remain this way" said the great dragon.

"What do you mean?" asked James.

"Time is like a river of events that will happen at some point in history, time itself can be rewritten.....but that's only if the future is still not yet known. Now that you've told me that the fairies are always girls........it has to remain that way. It must be done in order to prevent the future from being destroyed or altered" said the great dragon.

"I'm sorry, guess I said too much" said James.

"It is fine, just let it go. Now then, what's the real reason behind your sadness?" asked the great dragon.

James then went on to explain how fairies were seen as living goddesses, what their benefits were and how their appearances alone can inspire hope within a populace. He then explained that because of how they were placed within the society......he was literally nothing compared to them. Because of that, the fairies could do whatever they wanted to him and James knew that he couldn't fight back. Whether it was truly right or wrong, in this world....it was truly right and deserved.

Then one day he just snapped and did something he had regretted ever since. Again whether this was right or wrong was now a moot point, he did it and to him it was unforgiveable. He just wanted to be seen for who he was, not spread fear using his name.

"That's pretty much it.......and now that I've said these things. It will happen in the future.......a very dark time for me" said James.

"It must have been hard for you but it did make you stronger, in addition if it weren't for that pain you would not become who you are right now...would you?" asked the great dragon.

"I guess not but it still hurts knowing that I played a part in it. I......." said James.

"What's wrong?" asked the great dragon.

"How can you still seem to trust me after hearing what I did?" asked James.

"My young friend......I see someone who wants to do the right thing" said the great dragon.

"I shouted at them, I beaten them up, I even destroyed the symbols of their enchantix! I didn't do the right thing, I'm no better than them. I acted like a coward, this was why I wanted to go back. I don't want this feeling inside of me anymore" said James as tears began to escape his eyes.

"Its ok......" said the great dragon as it coiled itself around him.

"I should have just left them alone and moved on! I should have just ran away and I'm sorry!" said James.

"My young friend....its fine, I'm not holding anything against you and I never doubted that you would fail being true to yourself. The only thing that I feared for you is that you would fall down the wrong path....and I am glad to see that you haven't" said the great dragon.

"But I did.....and......" said James.

"And you pulled yourself out of it. You came back to your original self, there aren't many who possess that kind of strength....and even fewer have the strength to face their demons again. What you went through, everything from your timeline....you confronted them time after time" said the great dragon.

"I did it all alone, I never had anyone with me" said James.

"And for that you should be proud, you stood the test of time despite knowing that the world you lived in...wasn't exactly ideal. However you must remember this, if you didn't do those things.......would you have found your perfect future? Now everyone believes in you and your former enemies are now sworn comrades" said the great dragon.

As James wiped his tears away, he looked to the side and saw the orb of light.

"What is that?" asked James.

As the dragon uncoiled itself from James, it moved towards it and James followed.

"Its something you've already encountered before, its the enchantix transformation" said the great dragon.

James soon became wide eyed, as he looked at the orb of light he had a question mark on his head.

"Then what's with this piece of cloth here? Where's the rest of it? Where's the physical form for the transformation?" asked James.

"The enchantix transformation is still in its development stage, as of yet.....it does not have a physical form. That piece of cloth there is the prototype material for the outfits that they will wear when they activate it" said the great dragon.

As James picked the cloth up, he shook his head.

"I don't know, this is pretty flimsy...look" said James as he demonstrated.

"Pity, the universe had worked so hard to create it. Before any designs can be made, the material itself must be adequate first. This must be why you are here, to write your wrongs......maybe you are the one who will be giving the fairies their symbols" said the great dragon.

As James looked at the tattered material on the floor, he clenched his hands together. He knew it too, this may be the one way to forgive himself.....he will be the one who gave the fairies their final transformations. The very one that sparked the true symbol as a complete fairy.....to show their power and beauty.

"I'll need a place to work, I'll build this material myself" said James.

Soon the great dragon swiped its claw and the almost immediately a working station appeared behind it.

"Its all yours" said the great dragon.

Nodding, James immediately ran towards it and set to work. He began combining various elements, fusing together every atom, he even used chemistry for some reason. He then conducted test after test, so far every one ended up in failure. He knew what sort of material he wanted and he would not rest until it was completed. His experiments even involved an electric generator for some reason.

James began incorporating metals into his experiment, he did things that no one else had ever thought of before....he even hammered, bashed and ignited the material he was working on. He knew what girls wanted, they wanted something with style and grace yet remaining so comfortable that it almost feels like they're wearing nothing at all. It also had to be something that would show everyone that this was a true fairy who had completed her training and was ready to make her own decisions.

Before James knew it, 16 days had passed and he was still working. He nearly had it and he smiled. Repeating his experiments, he worked his way around the error he made last time and gave it a try. Finally, after so long......he had done it. What he held in his hands had everything he wanted. To complete it, he used his magic to add additional functionality so that it could stretch in various ways and also make it even more accommodating.

"Finally......it is done. My fairy friends, I hope you can forgive me. This.......is my way of apologizing" said James.

"Shall we give it a try?" asked the great dragon.

James soon placed the material inside of the light sphere and it soon disappeared. Once that happened, the sphere extended itself into a wide circle of light which surrounded James.

"Looks like the universe agrees that this is the material it needed" said the great dragon.

Soon the light began showing James various designs of outfits, all of which he approved of. As he walked to view more of the designs, he unknowingly passed by 5 particular designs. The future outfits that the winx would wear in that time period.

"Will this change the future?" asked James.

"I assume you mean that the outfits will be different, if so then yes. By your actions today, all of the enchantix outfits will be made out of this material" said the great dragon.

"If you don't mind, I would like to create a design of my own" said James.

"Go ahead, you've earned the right" said the great dragon.

With that, James made his way towards the light box and drew his design. He pictured a dress with a collar and bow holding it together along with the gloves and sandals. Once he finished designing it, he chose his colors and he decided that the dress would mainly be blue and the bow would be pink in color. He wanted the gloves to be pink as well, he just felt that it would look soft and comforting to anyone who was getting gently rubbed by it. He made the sandals blue and he then went for the long, tame and elegant hairstyle. For the fairy dust bottle, he made it dark blue and he would allow it to take on whatever shape of the fairy it belonged to.

"Don't follow my footsteps, follow your own. Don't become like me, don't hurt anyone...the way I did" said James.

He soon engraved a message on the back of it and it reads.......

"To whomever has this form, know that this form was created as a shining becon of hope and also a reminder to never succumb to the darkness, the creator prince James"

"Great dragon, please allow this design to be worn by someone that you deem worthy. It will be my gift to her, she may not appear in this time period but I know that someday the right girl will appear. See to it, that this outfit finds its perfect home" said James.

"It shall be done........and now it is time for you to return. You've been away for 16 days after all" said the great dragon.

"16 days?! Oh no, I screwed up big time! My family and friends are no doubt worried" said James.

"Fear not, I shall send you back to the moment you disappeared when you activated the machine that brought you here in the first place. In addition, I will reduce your age by the amount of time you've spent here so that you can continue to age as per normal" said the great dragon.

".......I won't remember any of this, will I?" asked James.

"By the law of time, you should not remember any of this. In addition, I knew about it....but this is actually a time loop. You begin your journey by coming here and then finishing and then returning back home. Then the loop begins again with your past incarnation, plus the time stream is out of sync so you can't retain your memories of what happened here" said the great dragon.

As the great dragon charged up its energies, it said this.

"But I'll at least allow you to keep your memories of creating this material and the pep talk we had. The part of fairies being girls will have to be wiped" said the great dragon.

"So........the reason why fairies are girls.......is because I made them that way, I saw what they looked like in the future........and so the loop begins with me telling you what they looked like....which then impacts the future of who they are today. I won't remember that........bother......" said James as he disappeared.

As he disappeared, the light box soon compressed itself and it jettisoned to the stars. The great dragon then nested itself on Domino, where the story begins.
