Chapter 39

Hello my lovely readers. I am sorry you had to wait for this chapter so long. I took a break from writing because I was on a vacation. My huge dream came true and I finally visited some parts of USA and mostly New Yooork!!! This was my dream for such a long time you can't even imagine. And it finally came true. It is incredible feeling. So I was too excited from all the preparation and then from the trip itself that I didn't had time for writing. I hope you all understand.

So another chapter is FINALLY here and I really hope you will like it:-))

Chapter 39

After Adele finished her speech with thanking everyone again for their donations and saying the exact amount of money which was donated. She wished the guests to enjoy the rest of the evening and then she came back to our table. She hugged Gael and then she hugged me.

"Thank you grandma for naming it after mom too." I said and she smiled at me.

"That is the smallest thing I could have done." She said and we sat down. There was another performance on the stage but I noticed that almost everyone were still looking at our table. Especially I noticed as Cheryl was almost throwing daggers at me with her stare. I guess she realized this was an end for her trying to get back with Henry.

"Well this will be on all front pages tomorrow morning." Emma said while taking a sip from her champagne.

"Porque?" Gael asked her.

"Don't try your Spanish accent on me. It doesn't work." She said and James laughed when Gael was taken by surprise.

"I apologize. I will not try that again." He said but I heard him murmur. "It usually works." I saw James laughing to himself.

"Let me repeat. Why?" he asked her charmly again.

"Oh come on. You are children of Elisabeth Cunningham and another heirs to the multibillionaire companies. You are the hottest news for the UK." She answered and Gael looked at me exactly with the same worried expression I was giving him.

"Don't worry you too. I know the press will be a little bit overwhelming for some time but you will see you will be old news in no time." Amelia tried to assure us.

"What are your plans by the way? Are you staying in London?" James asked Gael.

"I don't know man. I started my business back at home. And we have our abuela there." My brother answered.

"I would really like to meet her and thank her for taking care of you two." Adele said.

"I know. It is shame she didn't come. She is really scared of airplanes." Gael replied.

"I miss her." I said and Henry squeezed my hand.

"Come live to London. Maybe if you would be here we could persuade her to come live to London too." I said to Gael and he grimaced.

"I don't know hermanita. You know abuela. She is stubborn and old school. I don't think she would come here. She loves Spain." He replied and I felt sad. I miss my abuela very much and I would love to have her closer. But I don't want her to live alone in Spain.

"We will talk about it later okay?" Gael said to me and I nodded.

"It is getting late. I think we should be going." Henry said and I looked at him surprised. It didn't seemed so late to me although I would really love to spend some private time with Henry after not seeing him for almost two days.

"I don't think it is so late." I said as I wanted to be polite and not leaving my family behind but grandma interrupted me.

"Don't worry my dear. The most entertaining part of the night is already over and I am sure you two have a better things to do than sitting here." She said and winked at me. My cheeks turned immediately red.

"Thank you Adele." Henry said smiling at her. I noticed Amelia and Emma looking at each other and smiling sheepishly as if they knew something I was not allowed to know.

"Besides it will be over in one hour and the formalities are already over." She added and smiled at me.

"Thank you grandma for wonderful evening." I said and I kissed her on her cheek and hugged her.

"I am glad you were here." She replied and then we said our good byes to the rest of our family. The paparazzi were going crazy when we were walking to our car. They were yelling so many questions at us. "Eva why were you keeping it secret you come from Cunninghams?!" "Eva what happened to your mom?" "Prince Henry did you knew she was a Cunningham?" and other crazy questions.

"Just ignore them." Henry told me when we were making our way shielding our faces from the lights of the cameras.

"I can't wait to be just the two of us." Henry said to me on the backseat of our car. He turned my face to face him and pressed a longfull kiss on my lips. I savored the moment of him being so close to me. For him adoring me and wanting me. I never loved someone as much as I love him. I closed my eyes and rested my head on his shoulders.

"Are you tired?" he asked me.

"Just a little." I replied.

"Were you feeling not well before we came here?" He asked me.

"I was fine." I replied

"Then why was Emma asking you if you are feeling better?" he asked me and my eyes opened quickly.

"That was nothing. It was actually on Friday. I was just tired." I quickly said and he looked at me with narrowed eyes. It is not like I was lying to him. I told him true. Well part of it.

"You work too much." He said paused for a while and then put a quick kiss on my forehead.

"You already told me that." I replied smiling at him satisfied he wasn't asking more questions. I leaned my head on his shoulder again when I noticed we missed the street to my flat.

"I thought we were going to my house." I asked him confused.

"No. We are going back to the palace. I want to show you something." He replied, smiled at me. When we stopped in front of the Kensington palace Henry took my hand and he was leading me to the back of it. The palace was beautifully lit by yellow lights. It was incredible. When we came at the back of the palace I was expecting we would be going to his apartment. But we continued walking into the gardens. He put his arm around my shoulder and I snuggled under his arm into his chest as we were just walking around the garden.

"It is beautiful here." I said as I was enjoying the greatness of this place. The path was also lit by small lanterns. It was so charming.

"I knew you would like it." He said as he looked down at me, smiled and kissed me on my forehead. After a while we where walking through a small walk surrounded by precisely cut tree wall. At the end of the walk we came to lit fountain. In the middle of the fountain was a statue of a crying woman. It was so sad but very intriguing. The sound of the fountain was surprisingly very peacefull and calming.

"It is so beautiful." I said to him looking at the fountain.

"It is." He agreed. "This was my mothers favorite place of the palace." He said and I looked at his sad smile. "She liked to come here to read books and take a break from us." He laughed as he was remembering something. "She was always sitting on that banch." He said and pointed behind me. I looked at an old white wooden bench under a tree. "I come here when I want to be closer to her. Maybe it is stupid. I should probably feel closer to her in the cemetery but this was the place she loved and her presence is still here." He said.

"It is not stupid. You will always be close to your loved ones as long as you have them in your heart. And the place which remind you of them." I told him lovingly stroking his cheek when he gave me a small sad smile.

"I actually wanted to be closer to her tonight." He said.

"Is this some special day?" I asked him. Oh my god maybe it is her birthday today or something and I don't even know that.

"It is a special day today. I always wished she would be here on this day." He said and I frowned at him confused but he was only smiling at me.

"I always wanted her to be around when I ask the love of my life to marry me." He said and my heart stopped beating. He suddenly went down on his knee and opened a royal blue box infront of me. I forgot to breath.

"Evangeline Cruz." He started looking straight into my eyes. "You are the only person I can imagine to spend my life with. You are the only person I want to wake up with for the rest of my life" he paused. The light from the fountain was mirroring in his blue eyes. "I want to spend the good days and bad days with you and I want you to be the mother of my kids. I love you like nothing else on this planet. I love you so much that I can't think of breathing if you were not here." He said and tears started to fall on my cheeks.

"Will you make me the happiest man on earth?" he paused emotionally. "Will you marry me?" he asked as he was nervously waiting for my answer. My heart started to beat like I just finished some race. I couldn't believe what was happening. Somebody should pinch me. This man is asking me to be his wife? This perfect man who is the man of my dreams? The prince charming I thought I will never meet?

"Yes." I finally answered when I realized I was being quite for too long. Then he rapidly stood up, wrapped his arms around my waist and swirled me around. His lips immediately on mine when we stopped swirling and stood still near the fountain just kissing.

"I love you." I said starring him right into his beautiful blue eyes.

"I love you." He said and then took my hand and I watched as he put a dazzling diamond ring with huge yellow rock on my finger. I was amazed by the size of the ring when I suddenly heard applause. I looked behind me and I saw all our loved ones standing next to the fountain and happily clapping. There was grandma, Amelia, Robert, Emma, Emily, Philip, Henrys father, James and my brother Gael. How did they get here so quickly? And then I saw who was standing right next to my brother and the tears started to fall on my cheeks again. I looked at Henry incredulously.

"Surprise." He laughed at me. I put huge kiss on his lips and then I quickly run to hug her.

"Abuela." I cried out running into her arms.

"Mi nieta. Estoy muy feliz per ti." She said to me while hugging me.

Henry was immediately surrounded by his family congratulating him.

"Abuela how did you get here?" I asked her astonished by her presence.

"Your fiancé drove me here." She replied smiling at Henry who was being hugged by his family.

"Drove you here?" I asked her surprised trying to surpress the excitement of pointing out that Henry is already my fiancé.

"Yes. He came for me yesterday and he drove me here all the way from Spain. It took us almost twenty hours." She replied and I looked at Henry with disbelief. So he wasn't in Edinburgh with Emma this weekend. Is it even possible for me to getting more and more in love with him?

"Now let the rest of the family congratulate you." Abuela said as she hugged me again and then I was thrown by hugs from the rest of my and Henrys family too.

"Congratulations hermanita." Gael hugged me tightly. I saw grandmother introducing herself to abuela.

"I think we have a lot to talk about but firstly I want to thank you for raising such a good people from our grandchildren." She said to her and abuela nodded and sadly smiled.

"Yes we have a lot to talk about." She replied.

"Oooo I am so happy for you." Emma said to me when she threw herself into my arms.

"You all knew about this the whole night?" I asked them looking at Amelia.

"It was really nerve wrecking to keep my mouth shut you know?" Emma said.

"Yes we know." Henry, Philip and Emily said in unison on which everybody laughed.

"Especially with your abuela hiding just one room from you when we were getting ready to the ball." She said and my eyes popped.

"I think you deserve an Oscar for that." James said and she looked at him smiling.

"You bet I do." She said and I laughed.

"Congratulations Eva." Henry's father said to me smiling. I looked at Henry. I was surprised he invited him but he just smiled. I guess they are on good terms now? He will have to tell me everything.

"Thank you your highness." I replied and he laughed and shook his head.

"You can call me Arthur." He said and I looked at him surprised. "Well you will be the part of the family. It wouldn't be appropriate for you to call me by my official status."

"Thank you Arthur." I smiled at him nervously.

"That is better." He smiled back at me.

Henry took me into his arms and put a quick kiss on my lips.

"I can't believe you got our whole families to come here." I laughed.

"I would do anything for you." He replied lovingly.
