Only two nights in the hospital, can you believe that? I was attacked by a wolf! I could have at least missed school that week, but no I was 'better'. So back to school, with all the Jocks and Divas and teachers. Yay. The worst part was nobody remembered the accident! Like oh no big deal three kids fell of a bridge and were attacked by wolves. If I were popular then people would be all over me like 'oh my gosh are you ok?'. Unpopular people problems.
I guess the nice thing is Otsana and Rudi are okay. They are still a little sore like me, but they are okay. But they seemed shaken. Rudi was even jumpier than usual, and Otsana seemed quieter (Otsana, quiet? What parallel universe is this?)
"Hey guys," I said as I sat down with them at lunch. They nodded as they ate. But they even ate different. Otsana who usually scarves down her food, was just nudging it around the plate. And Rudi, was drawing in his mash potatoes. I leaned over to take a closer look at what he was drawing.
"What are you drawing?" I asked, "is that a wolf?".
"No it's nothing" he replied as he quickly wiped it away. The rest of lunch we sat awkwardly. Otsana seemed to be really interested in her French Fries. I looked at my salad, and suddenly wasn't hungry. So for the rest of lunch I thought about the accident.
The way Aquene's eyes glowed. A warm, friendly color suddenly turned cold and viscous. The glow on Denali's pelt as he raced in the field. The wolves seemed so friendly. But they can turn in an instant. It just proves my fear of animals.
Ding! The bell interrupted my thoughts. We threw away our lunches and went different ways. Which is weird because we were going to the same place. As I walked to my locker, I noticed that Otsana was avoiding me. She practically ran into the classroom. We have the same class though. I can just talk to her then, I thought as I grabbed my books.
   I sat down at my desk, which is next to Otsana's. She looked straight ahead as I put my stuff away. Not even a glance. Mrs. Follmer entered the room and began writing on the board. I didn't pay much attention all of class. She kept going on and on about something to do with environment. Only did I really pay attention when Otsana spoke up.
"Mrs. Follmer may I go to the restroom?" Otsana asked.
"Of course Otsana, just make it quick" Mrs. Follmer replied.
Otsana stood up quickly and exited the room. The clock ticked by one minute, two minutes, three minutes, until she had been gone for ten minutes. Something wasn't right.
"Mrs. Follmer can I go to the bathroom?" I asked urgently.
"Yes dear please hurry" she said as I ran out the door. I jogged down to the restroom, careful not to be caught be a teacher. As I reached the door, I slowed. Did this have something to do with the accident? I'll take it slow, I thought as I opened the door.
"Otsana? Are you in here?" I asked as the door opened. Maybe I shouldn't have announced my entrance. Because I was not prepared for this. Staring into the mirror, was a large, Carmel colored, wolf. It turned to look at me. It's eyes were a green color, like Otsana's. It's fur was the same color as Otsana's hair too.
   "Otsana?" I ask slowly. The wolf bared it's teeth. I'll take that as a yes. The wolf pounced towards me, luckily I saw that coming. I dove to left as her claws made contact with the wall. I felt bad for that wall. Her claws got momentarily stuck in the wood, giving me a chance to figure out a plan. When she finally ripped her claws away, I was ready. She came running towards me, but I faked that I was going in the stall. As she dove in the stall, she crashed into the toilet, spraying water all over her face. That distraction gave me the chance to shut the door behind her. I held it shut, but she came crashing through. Thankfully I could hold it shut, but when did Otsana become so strong?
   Just then, I heard the door shut. I turned around to see a random seventh grader. She looked at me strangely.
   "Run along now" I said as she left.
   I held the door for what seemed like hours, but she finally stopped. The snarling slowed until I heard just breathing, human breathing.
   "Are you okay Ula?" Otsana asked in a small voice. I sighed, I was just glad she was okay.
   "Yeah, you?" I responded, "Otsana".
"Yeah Ula?" She said in a weak voice.
"You need help" I said.
"Agreed" she replied.
"Trip to the zoo?"
"Trip to the zoo"
