Harbor:
It was dawn as  Connie and her father made her way to their boat, the Anna Marie, named after her late mother. As she walked down the dock she looked at the shimmering sun just under the horizon. However it suddenly blinked away. Startled, she rubbed her eyes and blinked a couple times. " Hey dad. I think I'm gonna get some coffee. Be back in a jiff." She said hoping the caffeine might clear her head. As she ran across the street to the 24hr coffee shop, her father continued to set up their bait and hooks. He had waited all semester for this trip. He and his daughter had grown apart after the death of his wife, but fishing had brought them back together. He was so engrossed in his work he ignored the large scaly shape that was making it way towards him, drawn by the smell of fish blood. A shape 2x the size of their 20 ft fishing boat. A shape with a long pointed head. Just as Connie was coming over the hill with her coffee she spotted it. She cried out but  it was too late. Just as her dad looked over to her, the head of a massive crocodile erupts from the water, chomping down on him. Connie let's out a scream as the beast sinks back into the river, leaving only scraps of the dock and her dads arm behind.

ARC HQ:
Jakob was currently in the middle of a rock and a hard place. Or more accurately two territorial Daedon.  The two young males were the size of full grown pigs with razor sharp teeth and shield like warts protruding from their faces. As the they squealed and snapped at each other, Jakob leaped and danced around, trying desperately not to be turned into minced human. I
  But why, might you ask, was he risking his health so early in the morning. Well it was the beginning of mating season for the Hell pigs that they had brought in just last week and now the two males needed to be separated for the week.
" hey hurry up in there will you. We don't have all day." Rebecca says cockily from the control room above. " easy for you to say" Jakob says under his breath" thinking quickly of what he can use to distract the pigs he quickly rips off his shirt( a neon orange plaid number) " Uhh what the hell are you doing!" Rebecca yelled. " I've got this, trust me" Jakob says
MENAGERIE CONTROL ROOM:
Rebecca feels her face heat slightly at seeing Jakob topless but shakes her head. 'No she was here to save the world, not ogle her coworker' although no girl could deny shirtless Jakob taming the Hell pigs wasn't an impressive sight. His body had been sculpted by farm work and watching him wave the bright shirt as well as jump and dodge was almost like a professional matador. His skill alone, no wonder he had been hired by Connor and Lester. Rebecca was brought out of her semi trance by Abby. " hard at work I see" " it's nothing like that. Just impressed is all." " sure you are. Anyway better finish up quick cause an alert just popped up" As Abby exist Rebecca looks down and sees Jakob bearding the last Hell pig into its pin and put on his now partially shredded shirt. She presses the call button " hey pig tamer, we got a case. Let's get moving." Jakob flashes a thumbs up and smirks

The Primeval crew pull up in black suv as cop cars swarm the scene. The girl from the opening is standing there weeping. Cain steps out and walks up to the cop talking to her, cutting right through the police tape. He is stopped by police. " hey what are you doing" Cain whips out a government badge and flashes it. "There's been a change of plans. We're in charge now" the cop immediately backs away from the 25 y/o, a slightly scared look on his face. " of of course sir. Right this way"
  Our trio make their way to the blood stained dock and damaged boat. " Jakob, I want analysis." Cain says pointing to the mess
"Got it" the fossil prodigy pulls on a pair of gloves and begins to inspect the marks left by the attack.
"Hey Rebecca" he calls to the techie " come look at this. Rebecca walks over and sees a bloody tooth left behind by the creature. " looks crocodilian. Whatever it is, the anamoly probably came from around or even under the lake. In the meantime" with a bit of effort, Jakob yanks the tooth from the boat. " take that to the lab. See if that blood matches any creature ARC has on file."
Rebecca takes the tooth and looks at Jakob confused " and what are you gonna do?" Jakob just smiles and points to the center of the lake " I'm going swimming."
