CHAPTER 26
Lisa
"I'm starting to like you."
After he said those, I only laughed harder. Making sure it'll mask my inner emotion.
Don't make things harder for me than it already is, Jeon Jungkook.
He really loves lying to my face.

10 : 24 am...
We arrived at Kai's school and was immediately welcomed by the teacher who called me.
Kai was standing there by the gate with bruises all over his face.
"This little shit..." I went out of Jungkook's car and walked towards them.
"Ms. Manoban, I'm very sorry for bothering you." The teacher bowed.
I shook my head, "It's fine. And you, get in the car."
Kai rolled his eyes and stomped his way towards the car.
What's with the attitude, sir?!
"I should be the one apologizing for Kai's behavior. He's just a kid. I'm so sorry." I responded.
The teacher bowed to me, "We should've disciplined our students more. Take care of Kai, Ms. Manoban."
I nodded, "I will. We'll get going now. Thank you for calling."
I hopped inside the car and immediately shot Kai a glare. He looked away and fidgeted his injured fists.
I sighed, "I enrolled you to school to study. What's not clicking?"
He didn't respond. He looks like he doesn't have the least intention to tell me.
"I'm fucking talking to you. You better answer me while I'm nice." I clenched my fist, stopping the urge to punch a kid.
Jungkook suddenly reached for my fist and smiled at me, "Let him be for now. Let's wait for him to tell us."
I looked at him with my brows furrowing. It's the first time I've seen him doing the first move, unless we we're infront of our parents.
"Those uniforms..." Kai finally spoke.
"You study in that school?" He asked.
I nodded, "Yeah."
He lowered his head again and looked away. A long moment of silence before I decided to speak.
"Do you have no intention on telling me what happened today? I'm your guardian." I tilted my head.
Kai bit his lips and slowly looked up to me, "It's not a big deal."
"Then tell me." I shrugged my shoulders.
He sighed and shut his eyes close, "There were other kids calling me an orphan."
I furrowed my brows, "And?"
"They were talking about the family day happening tomorrow, noona. Everyone was participating except for me. Even the teacher insisted it's okay for me to not attend since I have no parents. The other kids started to tease me about it. That's why—"
"Where did you punch them?" I cut him off.
Kai confusedly squinted his eyes at me, "W-What?"
"I said where did you punch them?" I repeated.
He better have punched them in the face and made them bleed. Those insolent brats need a proper beating.
"I-In the head. Some were in the face—"
"Atta boy!" I pinched his cheeks, making him even more confused.
"You're not mad?" He asked.
I shook my head, "Of course not. And you said you're gonna have a family day tomorrow right?"
"I'm not going." He looked away.
Jungkook interrupted, "We have a field trip tomorrow, Lisa."
"I know that." I replied to Jungkook.
I gave my attention back to Kai, "Don't worry. I'm gonna make sure you'll stand out tomorrow. You're gonna have the best parent beside you."

It was history period when I suddenly sneezed in the middle of the discussion.
"Sorry." I apologized immediately when they all looked at me.
Okay who the fuck is talking about me?
The classes are done and I was on my way to the parking lot when my phone vibrated.
I checked the message and it was from the hotel I'm currently staying at. They were notifying me that I have a visitor.
I tilted my head, "Visitor? Surely Lisa won't bother wasting her precious time on me, right?"
But as soon as I arrived, I immediately rolled my eyes at the figure sitting across me like she bought the sofa.
"I thought someone barged in to murder me." I tossed my bag in the corner.
"I can murder you. But not now." Lisa said.
"Why are you here anyway? You even skipped the last period with Jungkook. Were you guys that horny?" I furrowed my brows in disgust.
"Even if we were, that's not why I'm here." She took a sip of the coffee she probably made on her own.
She suddenly spit the coffee back in the cup, "Oh that tastes nasty." Pure disgust was written all over her face.
"You forgot you're bad at making coffee." I sighed.
"Really?" She put the cup back on the cupboard, thinking about her past self again.
"What did you came here for?" I brought the topic back.
"Right. About that, you're not going to the field trip tomorrow right?" She asked, making my eyes widen.
"There's a field trip tomorrow?! Why didn't you tell me? I could've brought the yacht." I leaned on my chair, upset.
"Well either way you're still not going." She crossed her arms over her chest.
"Why not?!" I shot her a glare.
"Because you're going to Kai's school tomorrow and be a good parent." She spat.
I raised an eyebrow, "I did not come here to babysit your adopted kid—"
"Here. Spend it howerever you want." She suddenly tossed her black card on the table.
If it wasn't for my breath interrupting my thoughts, I could've caught that card in my hands before it landed on the table.
My dad isn't gonna hand me over my black card until I get to inherit the company!
But now I can have one!
"Are you just gonna sit there? If you don't want it, I'll just ask Jung—"
"Deal!"
I'm just gonna babysit Kai, right? Nothing can possibly go wrong.
