CHAPTER 20

Jungkook

It's only been 3 days since Eunha started her suspension. But strangely, she seldom messages me anymore or just update me.

I'm getting worried.

"Hey, Jungkook!" Lisa suddenly ran towards me and circled her hands around my waist.

I looked down at her, surprised.

"Let's go have lunch together!" She said, smiling at me like she just won a lottery or something.

Lately, Lisa became a little clingy. Maybe she thinks she's dominating because of Eunha's absence. But I just let her do whatever she wants for now.

My heart still belongs to Eunha.

"I'm not hungry." I said and pulled away from her.

We were in the hallway of our class floor and people are already looking at us again.

Lisa pouted, "But I'm hungry."

I sighed and looked away, "Go have lunch with your friends."

"I don't have any friends." She lied.

I looked behind her and not from afar,  Jennie, Jisoo, and Rosé are watching us already. They probably planned this with her.

"Fine."

A wide smile curved up on Lisa's face, intertwining her hands with mine but I pulled away immediately.

There's no harm in going to lunch with her anyway since she's pursposely doing this and I'm being civil.

We walk down the hallway together despite Lisa's irritating whining for not letting her hold my hand.

Is she usually this desperate? And to think of it, Eunha's not here anymore. Why does she have to act all clingy towards me?

"Stop spacing out, jackass." I heard Lisa speak.

I slowly turned my head straight and saw Lisa standing in front of me, facing her back as she face Mingyu whom I didn't even notice.

My reflexes reacted and pulled Lisa, hiding her behind me.

I was just thinking about Lisa for a good second and this happened.

Mingyu tilted his head, checking out the both of us. The hallway was quiet and seems like we were the only students there.

"What's this? You guys look closer than usual." He chuckled.

I rolled my eyes, "What do you want?"

"Nothing! I just coincidentally bumped into you guys. But you look like I'm about to murder you both." He snorted like a psycho.

"You almost did, airhead lunatic!" Lisa spat, stepping up but I held her shoulders to calm her down.

Mingyu furrowed his brows, "What are you talking about?"

"The poison! Do you think I wouldn't notice? Fucking murderer." Lisa glared at him.

"Can you chill? Let me talk to him—"

"Jungkook, he almost killed us!" Lisa cut me off.

"Oh! You mean the wine? The Pinot Noir?" Mingyu chuckled.

Pinot Noir? Wait, there are a lot of varieties of Pinot Noir Wines. It's just an ordinary brand.

Lisa furrowed her brows, "P-Pinot Noir?"

"Sounds familiar? Or did you not know? That wine was pretty cheap." He shrugged his shoulders.

"Pinot Noir is just an ordinary wine brand." I said.

"Poison Rose, Pinot Noir? Rosé Enoliá? Doesn't ring a bell?" Mingyu tilted his head.

I looked at him, "Y-You mean, the 25 dollar Poison Scented Rose Wine?"

"What is that? What's Poison Rose?" Lisa asked, confused.

I sighed and facepalmed myself, "It's a cheap wine. You probably don't know about it."

"No! I swear it was poisoned! I smelled that shit!" She shook her head.

"Enough. Let's just go get lunch." I said.

She shook her head, "No. He almost killed us Jungkook. What kind of wine was that?!"

I sighed and rolled my eyes up in the air. I grabbed Lisa's hand and intertwined them with mine, just as she liked.

"Happy? Now, let's go."

We walked pass Mingyu without giving him attention. Just as we arrived at the parking lot, Lisa suddenly yanked her hand back.

"I'm not happy." She grumpily said and stomped her feet towards the passenger's seat.

Do I look like her personal driver? And this is my car.

I only heaved a deep sigh before hopping inside my car. I started the engine and glanced at Lisa's reflection fmthrough the rearview mirror.

She was already looking at me so I cleared my throat, "Where do you wanna eat?"

"I'm craving for beef—"

She was suddenly cut off when her phone rang. She rummage through her bag as I watch her face forming an annoyed expression.

"Hello?" She answered.

It wasn't on loud speaker so I couldn't hear the other line. It's not really my thing to eavesdrop so I just looked at the window and tried to distract myself.

But the car is just too quiet and her voice is clearly speaking out.

"I still have classes, Mother." She spat. So it was her mom calling. The Queen herself.

Lisa suddenly groaned in annoyance, "Okay! I got it! It's not like it's something serious."

She suddenly became quiet for a good minute so I checked her reflection at the mirror if she already hang up.

But I only met her eyes already looking at me, "No, Mother. I'm alone."

I furrowed my brows. Did she just lied to the Queen? Is she talking shit about me to the Queen?

She suddenly smirked, still not taking her eyes off of me.

"Okay, mother. I'm going. Bye." And she ended the call.

She put her phone back in her bag and suddenly went out of the car. I watch her walk around my car going to the passenger's seat beside the driver's seat, beside me.

"Did you finally realize I'm not your driver?" I started as soon as she buckled her seatbelt.

"No. Because you have to drive me to the hospital." She said.

I furrowed my brows, "Why? Are you sick or something?"

"You'll see." She shrugged her shoulders and motioned me to move.

Despite the curiousity nearly getting on my nerves, I took her to the nearest but most convenient hospital in Seoul.

Samsung Medical Center
12 : 42 am

"Stay here. Wait for me." She said, pointing at the lounge area where I could waut for her.

I absent-mindedly obeyed and got myself comfy, grabbing a magazine and checking out random models.

Until my eyes caught someone on the next page I just flipped.

"Wow... You look so young." I muttered under my breath.

I checked the magazine cover real quick to check what year has this been issued.

TIME Magazine © 2015

If this was issued in 2015 then Lisa is probably 15 years old in this picture.

I went back to her picture and started reading the long ass paragraph about her interview, placed on the other page. I don't know why I suddenly got interested but something is telling me I should read it.

Maybe my boredom was telling to do so.

Princess of Thailand
Lalisa Manoban at 15, came to Time Magazine's Question and Answer!

The title of the article looks like a real ass interview. Well, it is. But the fact that Lisa got into Time real quick, even at my 15 couldn't do shit.

I was still at the playground goofing around at that time.

I wonder how she handled everything at such a young age. She was already living her life as a Princess pretty early while I'm still in highschool, living like a delinquent youth.

I countinued reading the article until a question came up that got me curious but shocked as well.

Q: How are you after the accident?
A: I think I've fully recovered from it now. And so much has already happened after. It eventually became a tale for me that I barely remember how it happened. The doctor even said it's better for me to not remember. So yeah, I think I'm doing better after the 'accident'.

She got into an accident? Is that why she told me she could only remember her birth name?

"Everyone in the castle wants to kill me."

I remember now. Could it be possible that the accident wasn't actually an accident?

"...kook."

Or maybe—

"Hey Big Nose!"

I was snapped back from reality when Lisa is already standing right in front of me while snapping her fingers right on my face.

"Huh?" I dumb-foundedly mutter.

"You must be thinking really deep shit. You look you were close to solving a great mystery." She chuckled at me.

"Y-You're done? That was fast." I put the magazine back in the table and stood up.

"I expected you to be mad at me. It's been an hour." Lisa furrowed her brows at me.

An hour? It was just seconds ago when I encountered her article!

Or am I tripping? Shit, I need to stop drinking too much coffee. I getting hallucinations.

"Is that so?" I forced a chuckle.

"Whatever. Let's just go. I'm so hungry." She said and pulled my arm as we walk towards the elevator.

We arrived at the ground floor and walk down the hallway to the exit together.

But I've been itching to ask her the question that's been bothering me.

"Hey Lisa." I called. She responded with a hum.

"The accident. Are you getting checked up for that?" I started off.

She turned to me, "What accident?" She innocently asked.

Is she lying? Or does she really forgot about the accident now?

"My bad. My tongue slipped. Why are you here anyway? What's the check up for?" I smoothly changed the question.

She snorted, "Check up?" and let out small chuckles.

"What's so funny?" I asked.

"I'm here for a therapy." She answered, making me freeze in my spot.

"Oh look! It's raining!" She hopped when we arrived at the entrance door.

"Wait, Lisa!" I tried to stop her but she already ran outside and let the cold water pour down on her.

I watched her getting drenched on the rain as she closes her eyes, muttering the words, "this feels good."

What kind of therapy are you taking, Lisa?
