Chapter 11.

"Come on, is that thing even a teenager? I wanna see a birth certificate!" Coach Finstock yelled from the sideline. It was understandable due to the massive size of a player on the Ravens, a local high school lacrosse team. He's been knocking our players down left and right. And that's not any good since this is a game in the semi-finals.

I didn't plan on attending the game tonight. It's not that I didn't want to support Danny or the team, but with everything that's been going on today, I really didn't want to go out. Yet, at the same time, I didn't want to say alone at home either. So I got my butt up, joined my parents, and together we took my dad's car to tonight's game. When they saw the back of my car, they were mad at me at first, but after I explained to them that it happened when I entered Debbie's they said they'd call the insurance and the gas station.

Tonight's game was originally cancelled due to the rain, but it was immediately called back on when it stopped. The rain stopped only minutes after I finished plastering my wall, and the temperature outside dropped rapidly. So when I stripped from my dress earlier, I put on warmer as to not freeze at the game tonight.

We were already a quarter into the game, and another player was being taken off the field by stretcher. I was quite glad Danny usually only played goalie, because he would have been plumed down by the "Abomination". My parents and I sat near the top of the bleachers right above Mrs. McCall, Scott's mom. When mom and dad began talked to her, I told them I would go see Allison who I say sitting with her grandfather on the next set of bleachers. Climbed over several annoyed parents and down the bleachers. Danny saw me and I gave him a thumbs up and a wave before walking over to Allison. Quickly I slid into the empty seat in front of them and turned around to face Allison.

"Did you just hear coach yell at that one kid? Oh my god that was like the best part of my night." I joked. Today, I've been avoiding everyone, so I didn't really get a chance to talk to her today.

Allison laugh, "I don't know who wouldn't have heard it. I mean he screamed loud enough."

I noticed her grandfather smiling down at me and I smiled back. "Hello Jamie, how have you been lately?"

"Good, Mr. Argent. A little stressed out with school and personal stuff," I explained.

He nodded, "That's why we have Ms. Morrell. She's here to help you."

I nodded and smiled. It's not like I could tell him my problems couldn't be shared with the school guidance counselor. "I might just have to do that one day in the future."

Mr. Argent smiled, "I'll tell her to be expecting you."

"Oh-- thanks," I say trying not be be sarcastic.

"Today, I happened to be walking through the parking lot, and I saw your car. What happened to your trunk?" he asked.

My heart beat speed up a little bit at the question. The way he so suddenly popped it up. surprised me definitely. I didn't know how to respond, I mean I barely know what happened. "Um well, I went to Debbie's, it's this donut place near the outside of town, before school, and when I went inside and came back out five minutes later, I guess something scratched it."

"You guess?" he chuckled, but I noticed his body got stiff.

"Yeah I guess, I mean I didn't even know it was there until someone pointed it out to me at school."

He suddenly turned back to the game, ending the conversation abruptly. I felt my phone buzz in my vest pocket, and I slide it out.

Allison: I can see the look on your face right now. So he's getting so personal.

I stare up at Allison and give her a blank look. I really hope her grandfather didn't notice the look of unpleasantness in my eyes. I didn't want to be considered "that one rude friend of Allison's". I frown as I look back at my phone to see that I haven't gotten one text from Lydia all night. I texted her before I left the house the afternoon to see if she would be at the game, but apparently not, because as I scan the crowd for my redheaded friend I didn't see her, but who I saw instead shocked me. Only a few seats behind Mr. Argent, at the top of the bleachers sat Erica Reyes, and next to her someone I knew as Vernon Boyd.

When she caught me staring, she smirked and nudged Boyd, then waved her fake nails at me. I couldn't help to let a little glare slip out. Not wanting to be near them, I said goodbye to Allison and Mr. Argent, before walking back towards my parents who were watching the game concerningly. With the last player being taken away, Coach had to move Danny from goalie to forward. "He's not gonna make it," I mumble.

"Jamie Aolanee, don't say that about your brother," my mom say smacking my arm lightly.

"Really mom? You knowing I'm joking, but by the number of players going down, Danny could be one of them." My mother wasn't please, but turned back to look at the game.

"I didn't know your middle name was Aolanee, it's a very pretty. Is it Hawaiian?" Mrs. McCall asked.

I nodded, "Thank you Mrs. McCall, and yes it is, it means heavenly cloud."

"Oh, that really is beautiful."

"Thank you," I say blushing. I turn back to watch the game, and for the first few minutes, no ones left the game, thankfully. But as our team went back on offense, I knew we were screwed over as Danny ran towards the goal. I watch in slow motion, as the "Abomination" plowed into Danny, sending him down to the ground. I gasped and stood up along with my parents as we watched Coach walk Danny off to the side. Unlike some of the other unlucky victims, Danny look like he wasn't in too much pain.

"Jamie, go check on your brother," my dad urged. Again I climbed through an unset group of parents and walked over towards the players bench. I was glad I wore my rain boots, because the closer I got to the field, the more mud puddles appeared.

I walked over and slide into the seat beside Danny. He already was holding an ice pack to the left side of his head. "How are you feeling?" I asked looking at the bump forming under his ice pack.

"Dizzy. Really dizzy," he said. Although dizzy wasn't decent, it would be for our parents. I dug into my pocket for my phone and realized I must have left it with my parents, so instead I turned around and gave them a thumbs up, to which I could both see them sigh in relief.

Suddenly, Coach reappeared and stood in front of him. "How many fingers am I holding up?" Coach lifted up two fingers in front of his face.

Danny took the choices into consideration. "Four?"

"Say two," he hinted aggressively.

"Two."

"Perfect,' Coach said. My mouth dropped in shock. "Get out there, come on. Get out there," he literally pushed Danny off of the bench and back into the game. Danny dropped the ice pack into my lap and I set the sweaty cool fabric, back down on the bench. Coach then grabbed Danny's stick, "Have a stick." Danny the jogged wobbly back onto the field. He looked down at me. "What are you doing here Māhealani?"

"I was just checking on Danny sir. And not that I opposing your judgement or anything, but don't you think Danny should sit out for a few minutes? I mean, he told me he was dizzy, plus he couldn't tell you were holding two finger up."

The player shouted from the middle of the field, "We're still short one player, Coach!"

"Where's Stilinski?" he yelled. "Where's Stilinski!" he shouted again. Coach sighed loudly and looked at the completely empty bench, well besides me. He then scanned the crowd until he landed on a face, I wish he didn't. "You! You!" he shouted at Boyd. "You play lacrosse?" At first Body smirked, before Erika said something to hum, but he still found his way down the bleachers. The Coach laughed really weirdly before shouting, "We've found ourselves a player!"

Boyd put on the uniform as he stood beside Coach. I watched him curiously, I mean he was hanging out with Erica, and I know who hangs out with Erica. Then it hit me, as I saw the flicker of gold flash in Boyd's eyes as he ran out onto the field. I gasped and quickly turned around to find Erica had vanished from her seat, and was walking towards the school. My body began to shake, not from the nipping cold, but from fear—Isaac isn't the only one.

I knew it was stupid of me to follow her, but I fumbled over the bench and walked past Allison, who was staring at me as I left. I stayed a decent distance from Erica as she strutted her way towards the school. I watched from behind a parked car as she busted a door down with he fist. I flinched in fear, if she could do that to a metal door, imagine what she can do to my body. Quickly, he pushed into the building and I waited a second and peek through the window as she turned towards the locker rooms.

I felt like I was being followed or she knew I was following her, but I continued and seconds later, I pushed open the doors and turned down the hallway, hiding behind a trashcan a few doors down from where I assumed she was. My assumption was correct when I heard her heels clicking wildly as, she exited the open door and continued down the hallway. My eyes widened when I saw what she had in her hands. It wasn't an item, no that would have been far better, but instead she had her hand covering the mouth and pushing a person. Internally I gasped. What did Erica want with a person? Did she and Boyd and Isaac plan on eating him? I didn't know what werewolves ate, but people would be a decent guess.

I almost contemplated calling the police, but how would I explain to them that I witnessed a werewolf kidnap someone so that her and other werewolves could eat him? Nonetheless, I was going to call. I dug into my pocket for my iPhone, I came up empty. "Dang it," I whispered to myself as I slowly followed Erica and the body.

My boots squeaked along the laminate floors, and I'm so glad Erica hadn't heard me, and decided to eat me to. I watched from the bend of the hallway as she dragged her victim into the pool. Nervously, I watched as the door swung close, and I ran towards the second entrance on the other side of the pools. The door was ajar and I quietly crept in and hid behind the bleachers off to the side. I peered through the seat and saw Erica standing next to a tall, buff, and lean guy. I didn't know who he was at first, but as his face turned to the side, I realized this is one of the guys from the night at the police station. I could only assume he was also a werewolf.

When Erica shifted her body I was shocked to find no one other than Stiles Stilinski. His demeanor wasn't scared, and he acted as if almost everything was okay. He didn't try to escape, instead he stood there having a conversation with them. To say I was confused was an understatement.

I hadn't heard the start of what they were saying to him, but I definitely heard Stiles loud voice. "All right, the thing was pretty slick looking. Um, skin was dark. Kind of patterned. Uh, I think I actually saw scales. Is that enough? Okay, because I've somebody I really need to talk to" He paused, but groaned and continued. "All right, fine, eyes. Eyes are, um, yellowish. And stilted. Um, has a lot of teeth. Oh. And it's got a tail, too. Are we good?" Stiles stopped again and looked at them eagerly when they didn't respond. "What? Wait, have you seen it? You have this look on your faces like you know exactly what I am talking about."

What the hell was he talking about? I mean Stiles had a tendency to ramble, but nothing like this. Now he was speaking nonsense. I watched as Stiles turned around slowly and tilted his head up. I tried to climb closer, and tilt my head to see what they were would at, but I didn't have to as whatever it was came crashing down from the second story balcony. The creature let out a loud hissing growl and started attacking.

I was so glad I hadn't had anything to drink, because I seriously would have peed myself, as I watch the live description on the rabid creature Stiles was just describing attack. The lizard like animal easily took down Erica, flinging her into a wall with the flip of it claw. Then it began going after Stiles and the other guy, while they were distracted, I made a mad dash for the door, flinging it open and flying out of there. I'm sure they saw mean, with the noise I made, but I didn't turn around the check as I ran. I was barely to the outside the pool door when I was pushed into the lockers, scratching my neck and doing something to my ankle in the process.

My head was throbbing and my ankle felt awkward as it was twisted in an odd direction. I knew I couldn't escape even if I wanted to. Whenever I tried to move, I couldn't, it was as if my whole body had been paralyzed. Whatever knocked me down circled in front of me taking deep breaths. Slowly, I opened my eyes and screamed in fear as the slimy reptilian roared in front of me. Suddenly, the lizards evil hissing was nothing compared the the roar in front of me. There was someone there, fighting off the lizard, but I was too chicken to watch and closed my eyes. If I wasn't going to die by lizard, I was going to die from whatever else was fighting it.

The fight didn't last more than ten seconds and there was a thud on the ground beside me. The sound of the lizard creature disappeared, and I assumed he went back into the pool to finish of whoever else was in there.

"Jamie, Jamie, and you awake," a quiet voice whispered from beside me. My heart was beating rapidly. I was already way beyond my expectations of what was real and not real, so when I opened my eyes and saw beautiful gold ones instead of stilted narrow eyes, I felt a little safer. "I am so sorry Jamie. You make me lose control, but at the same time you keep me anchored."

"It's okay Isaac," I whisper a small tear leaving my eye.

It was impossible for us both to move due to whatever the lizard did to us, but some how Isaac was able to reach his hand across and hold onto mine.
