The Internship: Aizawa, Part 2
"AAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" A guttural roar erupted from the middle of the ocean, scaring away a few pelippers and wingulls flying by.
Cough cough.
I meant seagulls (I've been playing too much Pokémon...).
Izuku sat down on his raft in frustration. "It's obvious that Aizawa has kidnapped me and put me in the middle of the ocean to try and figure out how to get to land without dying. Why? Because that's just the kind of sick thing he'd do. I haven't forgotten about those reports- HEY! SEAGULL! SHUT UP, WILL YOU? I'M TRYING TO TALK TO MYSELF!"
"SqUaKK!" The wingull-I mean seagull responded sassily, and then flew off into the distance.
"Hmm... at least he left me this ramen packet... even though I can't eat it." Izuku sighed, and then sat down, looking into the distance.
~Splash~
"Hmm...?" Izuku glanced over the raft, looking into the water for the source of the sound.
~ Splashy Splash ~
"Hello?" Izuku ventured cautiously.
Suddenly, the sea erupted with small fish with whiskers, who surged from the sea and began to float all around Izuku's raft. There were a couple of thousand present, and the all looked at Izuku expectantly.
A large whiskered fish came forward, and the rest made way for the fish.
"Greetings, Young Master. It has been a while since we've sensed a feline presence near these waters. Especially one as royal as your own." The large fish spoke, yes, spoke.
Izuku stared at the fish with a puzzled look. "Umm... how can I understand you? What are you? How did you know about my quirk? What do you want from me? And-"
The fish chuckled, which was weird because Izuku never knew fish could chuckle. "We are a noble tribe of Catfish. My name is Bluefurd. We sensed your presence, and answered your call."
"My... call?"
"Yes," The fish continued, "It was kind of hard to miss. You made quite a noise when you came to. We were following your raft for a while in case you wanted assistance with anything."
"Oh." Izuku accepted this weird news well.
"Well, Young Master? Anything you need from us?" Bluefurd inquired again.
"Hmm..." Izuku looked down at the ramen packet in his hand. "Yes, actually."
"Our help may not come without a price, Lord." Bluefurd warned.
"I understand. But rest assured, I will make proper arrangements." Izuku grinned.
"You see, I have a plan to get myself back to Japan."
There was a soft breeze. Quiet, peaceful. Just what Aizawa wanted...
"Aizawa." Nezu broke the silence, and Aizawa cracked an eye open to look at Nezu.
"It's been a couple of hours since we've been sitting here, looking at the water, and you haven't said anything. Please, at least tell me how a ramen packet will save poor Izuku from a premature death by drowning, dehydration, and/or starvation."
Aizawa sighed - a long, lengthy sigh that conveyed his mingled tiredness and slight worry for his pupil. "I trust Izuku. He will come back safely probably hopefully maybe."
"That doesn't sound very sure."
"It's not supposed to be maybe sort of hopefully probably."
"Now that just doesn't make sense."
"If you think about it, Nezu, then nothing really makes much sense. Life doesn't make sense."
"Stop being a depressed drama queen."
"Never."
Now it was Nezu's turn to sigh. "I suppose I have no choice but to wait."
.
.
.
"OH MY GAWD, HONEY LOOK!" Random Side Character Girlfriend on the beach yelled to their boyfriend.
"What, Sweetie Poo?" The man, Random Side Character Boyfriend ran over to check on his girlfriend, only to stare at the sea, gawking with her.
Aizawa yawned. "What's this commotion...!?" Aizawa suddenly shot up.
"That's..." Aizawa trailed off, and Nezu stood up as well, taking off his shades in awe.
Izuku was cruising towards the mainland on his raft, which was being pushed along by a huge swarm of catfish, who were mewling and yowling in excitement.
The catfish seemed very pleased about something, and Nezu could somewhat understand what they were saying, but what was weird was that they were chanting something about ramen? Maybe Nezu needed to brush up on his catfish language skills...
Izuku arrived at shore, and pulled his raft onto the sand. He then waded back into the water, holding a ramen packet, and held it up in the air. The catfish cheered? What was going on?
Aizawa smiled. "Not exactly what I was expecting, but it works I guess..."
Izuku opened the packet and tossed the contents into the sea. The catfish eagerly gobbled the ramen up, and bowed to Izuku.
Izuku waved goodbye, and the catfish flapped their fins a couple of times before swimming off into the sea. Izuku caught sight of Aizawa and Nezu, and jogged up to meet them.
"Hey guys! Sorry I was late, I had to try a few times before I got the right beach. Aizawa-sensei, did I do well in this 'test' of yours? It was your doing, correct?"
Aizawa smirked. "With my history? You know it, kid."
Izuku smiled in response.
Nezu cleared his throat. "Izuku, I have to ask... how exactly did you do it? Come back, I mean."
Izuku grinned. "Simple. Catfish are cats and fish. I know technically they are fish, but somehow they were genetically crossed with felines, allowing me to communicate in some form. It definitely means I have more control over my powers now though."
"What about... the ramen?"
"Ah. I see." Izuku laughed. "I used the ramen to bribe them. They believe ramen is the answer to life. The holy grail. The majestic ultimate offering that is the best thing ever known to catfish kind."
Aizawa looked at Izuku funny.
"What?" Izuku asked.
"You were supposed to eat it..." Aizawa look confused.
"You can't eat that stuff raw and uncooked!" Izuku argued.
"Really? That's what I do all the time... I guess that explains why ramen from a restauraunt always tastes better."
"Oh dear god." Izuku rubbed his temples. "I'm hungry anyway after that exhausting ordeal. Let's go have Ichiraku Ramen to soothe my poor soul. I feel so bad for you, Aizawa."
"I agree. It's on me." Nezu supplied.
The three went to eat ramen happily ever after.
Yay.
Yo, it's me, The Lazy Author-san ~
Just so you know, since school's starting up I'm going to take a bit of a break so that I can adjust into school. This will also give me time to write buffer chapters so I don't feel so pressed for timing.
You see, writing one of these can take about 4 hours writing nonstop.
Exhausting.
I love writing, and I love this story. Once I secure one or two episodes ahead, then I will feel more comfortable. This also applies to my other story, Quirkless Doesn't Mean Powerless.
Thank you!
I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Thanks for reading!
