Jimin pressed the gentle touch on the crown of Jungkook's head, soft hair ticking his skin. The smaller elder held Jungkook close on the couch. The soft cries were faint, controlled, and simply a slight shake causing some emotions to tip over the edge— nothing drastic.

"It's alright, bun," he whispered against the younger's forehead, Jungkook's baggy clothes bunching up around his sides and making the photographer seem like a child in his arms. "Take a deep breath."

Jungkook didn't cry often. He didn't like to. It was only when he had that slight emotional overflow that a few tears fell in front of Jimin.

Jungkook had those days. They were slightly gloomy, spent quieter and rid of his usual bubbly behavior. The younger would overthink until he frustrated himself, drowning in his big hoodie until he found some warmth hugging him. Sometimes it was the weather, other times it was just how he knew the day would go the moment he woke.

The dancer cupped the boy's face and swiped fingers below his wet eyes, lashes thick and clumped with tears.

The sweet doe eyes opened and stared up at him, gentle and pleading for wordless comfort. So Jimin just held him, let Jungkook climb into his arms and murmur his thoughts out.

"When's that time?"

"Why is it so far away?"

"I'm so close but he's still out of reach."

"Just two— no, three— buttons."

"It would take him a lot more strength to press those three buttons than what he went through at the gala, Jungkookie." Jimin snuggled his cheek into the top of the younger's head. "Once he opens up that door to you, there's no going back. He knows that, which is why he's so hesitant. He doesn't want to make a mistake."

"I'm not a mistake, though."

Jimin cooed at the doubtful pout on Jungkook's face, shaking his head in denial without hesitation. "Never were, never will be. He doesn't realize that yet." The dancer huffed. "You told me he thought you'd be better off in Busan without the drama."

"And now I'm here instead." Jungkook frowned. "Hyung, I don't sound obsessive, do I?"

"Huh? I don't think so." Jimin pondered for a moment. "No, Kookie, you don't. Maybe you're a little obsessive about his happiness, you just want him to see that your hand is free and waiting for him to take ahold and move forward. But that's not a bad thing, that's..."

"That's what?" Jungkook pushed away from his arms at the abrupt cut off. "Hyung?"

Looking down at his best friend, Jimin smiled. "You're not doing anything bad, it's just out of your control. You're doing really well actually."

"Really?"

"Really."
