Welcome.
Blue eyes looked up at the smaller pokemon, confusion following. Being asked if he wanted to be a servant? While it wasn't normal, Lunick didn't feel like he was being forced. He blinked before nodding softly, getting a smile back.
"Great. I'll have Summer get you comfy before we do anything else. Stay here." Lunick nodded as the small creature left. As the silence followed, he pulled the blanket close, closing his eyes as the feeling of safety followed.
~
Summer led him to a shed just around the back. He was a little confused until they entered and she guided him to a small area.
"Here's your area." He scanned it, seeing a dresser, shelves and bed. It felt like a small room near the corner. He entered slowly, taking in the space. She stayed outside as he paused.
"Do... all servants live out here?" She nodded.
"Our masters, the Raijin Family, don't keep a lot of servants. This shed was created to house escaped servants that were running from cold hearted masters. Then the family decided to try and change the system and protect servants. I was the first to arrive." She turned and pointed to a room up in the rafters. "My room is up there. I'm the only one up in the rafters." She then smiled. "Ben, the servant that brought us here from the station, is the room next to you. Another servant, Solana, is across the way. There's some things that need to happen first, but eventually we'll get you everything you'll need." He nodded as she smiled. "Finished getting used to the room. I'll come grab you when the master is ready for you." Lunick smiled as she left, closing the door behind her. He then paused before folding the blanket and laying it over the pillow.
~
It took some time before Summer came to get him. Pichu was waiting on the porch as they joined him. The master nodded before saying something to Summer, who nodded before going inside. He then glanced at the Bluenette, who zoned out.
"I suppose you don't have any abilities?" Lunick paused before shaking his head. "I had a feeling. But that's good since that means you aren't restricted to a certain role." Lunick glanced at him as he hummed. "Have you ever thought of an ability?" Lunick shook his head.
"Not really. I know I thought about something passive, but nothing in particular." The master smiled.
"Then possibly barriers would do nicely for you." Lunick turned to him. "Humans with protective abilities are hard to find. So you getting barriers would be good for you and other human's safety." The bluenette blinked before nodding, a smile forming.
"Yeah..." Something joined them as the boy from before, who Lunick guessed was Ben, smiled.
"Ready!" Pichu nodded before getting up in the front.
"Get on, Lunick." The male paused before getting into the back, feeling more comfortable. "To the station, Ben. I'll give you the next set of directions afterwards." Ben nodded.
"Yes Sir! Next Stop, Pickamore Station!"
~
Lunick waited for the small pokemon as he directed Ben, who nodded before racing off. The whole trip was a blur as they arrived at a large building. Lunick wasn't paying too close attention, just enough to catch the gestures from Pichu to know what to do. But he learned that this was him getting his abilities. They were out before he knew it.
Upon returning, Summer took him to a small room in the house, which seemed set up for something.
"Alright. I'm going to take your measurements so we can get your uniform made." He must've given a look as she smiled. "Don't worry. I heard what your one master's 'uniform' was. It won't be that bad. I assure you that you won't feel uncomfortable. Ok?" He paused before nodding. "Great. Just hold still..."
~
He rested in his new room before Summer joined, carrying a box. There was a pause as she placed it down.
"There. That has Hygiene products, extra pillows and blankets, a summer uniform, winter uniform, professional uniform and some other winter clothes." He blinked as she continued. "Go ahead and get it unpacked. When you're done, me and the other two will be out in the common area." His mind drifted, remembering seeing a small area near the front of the shed. He nodded as she left, allowing him to unpack the box. Afterwards, he went and joined the trio in the small area. Ben smiled as he jumped up.
"Welcome to the team, Lunick!" He gave a soft smile as Ben held out a hand. "Ben! Racer of the Desert Humans! I am the transporter of the Raijin Family." He shook his hand as Summer giggled.
"You know me. But I am the lead Servant of the family and the housekeeper." The last servant, who was working on something in a corner, finally took notice and joined them. Lunick paused at the sight of the rifle in their hand. Red eyes scanned him before the female hummed.
"Solana. Sharpshooter and guard of the family." She put the rifle down before shaking his hand. "I heard you got Barrier Ability. It's good to have a defensive front to work with my abilities." Lunick blinked twice as Summer smiled.
"Solana was the reason I covered your ears when we arrived the first time. Apparently we have rogues coming in behind us, so she shot them down. She was the only line of defense we had before you arrived." Solana huffed.
"Even if you hadn't gotten barriers, it's good to have extra hands. All hands are better than none." Ben purred as Summer sighed.
"Well. Welcome to the team." She went over and brought over some mugs of hot chocolate, which Ben took one first. "The master will probably find you work to keep yourself busy. That usually is what we do here." Solana took another mug before Summer handed him one and took the last. "But for now, it's the end of the day. We don't have orders for now, so we can relax and do whatever." Solana nodded.
"I suggest taking the time to get to know everyone here. We used to have someone who lived next to me. Still don't know what happened to that guy." Ben hummed.
"Did anyone learn his name?" Summer shook her head.
"It was something like Mani I think. And I believe he went insane from something. Not quite sure." Solana raised an eyebrow.
"That guy should've gone right into the hospital with his insanity. Still." She nodded to the Bluenette. "It's better to have a lot of friends than a wall of silence. You'll thank me later." He nodded.
"Got it..." She nodded before going back over to her weapon and returning to her spot. Summer smiled.
"We'll be around if you need anything." Ben had vanished as she went to her seat.
~
Lunick tracked down the racer as he cleaned up his room, which looked a little messy. Ben smiled as he finished the hot chocolate.
"Hey! You can put your mug with mine. I'm going to take them to the sink in a minute." Lunick hummed as he placed it down. The speedster quickly cleaned up his room, getting trash in a large can in the corner and the clothes in a bin, before smiling. "So, you came to talk to me?" Lunick hummed.
"I... was just curious about how you introduced yourself. I didn't know humans could be racers." Ben paused before he smiled.
"Back then, no. Only servants could. I actually was given the chance by a racing pokemon to join the servant racing league." He paused. "After an incident, a regular human league was opened. I don't recall the details for that." He then smiled. "It's been a few years since I've raced. But I keep practicing in case I get the chance to." His eyes lit up. "Which reminds me. I gotta go do that." He grabbed the tray of dishes before carrying them out. Lunick hummed before stepping out, closing the door behind him, before Summer went over.
"How's it going?" He hummed softly as he watched Ben race outside. She giggled. "Ben joined through a different family member, Raichu Thunderflash. His previous master passed away in an attack upon the races. We've kept his mind occupied so that he doesn't recall what exactly happened that day." He hummed.
"What about Solana?"
"Solana was part of a breeding chain. However, she was so violent that they had to get her somewhere else. Pichu took her in since she was good with a gun." He hummed.
"What... about you?" She giggled.
"I'm unique." Was all she said before going up to her room. He paused before Solana went over to him.
"I'll say this. No one knows anything about her. Her abilities? No one happens to be in the area when she uses them. Her home? Almost no one has heard of her. Her past? Good question. We just know that she is the Masters' go to servant. Both you and I were brought here by her. Who really knows who she is." She then nodded to him. "I'm not going to say don't trust her. But be wary when her tone starts shifting." He nodded before watching her go into her room. He then gulped before going back into his own, processing everything.
