Tutorial.
Blue eyes showed fear as a male was thrown into a cell. A shallow noise escaped them as they curled into a ball.
~
"This isn't working."
"Of course it's not."
Three Pokemon rested in a room as muffled noises escaped the door. A Doduo sighed as a Piplup looked at it.
"We need a plan."
"Yeah, but what?" The third pokemon, a Minun, looked up from his hands.
"I have one." The other two looked at him as it looked down. "It may be a bad plan, but it's better than nothing. We could... have one of us take a Human in and have them join the Old Ruins Association." The Piplup gulped.
"It would go against our policy-"
"I know. But... We would treat them and make them brave to fight back." The Doduo nodded.
"Let's at least try it."
~
The Minun followed a Nidoqueen as they walked through a hall of cells. Many within the cells lashed out, only the cold steel bars holding them back. Minun stayed quiet as she hummed.
"Any particular trait?"
"Uh... quiet would be nice." She hummed before they stopped by a cell.
"Then see about that one." Minun went over and paused, seeing a Human curled up in the corner. They looked scared as they felt eyes on them. Their shaking froze as they tried to hide in the corner. The poor thing. Minun gulped.
"This one is perfect."
~
The Human kept his head down as they entered the home. Minun led him to a small basement area, where his loving mother set up a comfortable living area for him. The Human settled down, keeping his eyes to the ground as the Pokemon went up to his mother, who was in the kitchen. She smiled at him.
"All set?"
"For the most part. He's terrified."
"They normally are if they are new." She quickly got a tray set up. "I'll get him some food. Why don't you get some blankets and whatever you're going to use to mark him?" He nodded as she went downstairs. He grabbed some blankets and his paint kit before going down. The Human was quietly staring at the food, his shaking form steadying from the smell and comfort. His eyes finally lifted as Minun placed the pile down. He moved the paint kit before draping a blanket over the male.
"There. Better?" It took a second, but the Human eventually nodded, cuddling up to the blanket. "Good. You're safe now."
"Really...?" Minun nodded as he went over and patted his head. His eyes drooped as he purred a bit.
"Yep. I'll protect you."
~
The Human, who's name was Lunick, was skittish. As in, he refused to open up and was very jumpy. So it was sometimes hard. But Minun did everything in his power to convince Lunick that he was safe.
Until he couldn't.
Another Resistance Group attacked him, not knowing he was also a member. Lunick ran over before he was pulled back by a powerful Pokemon.
"Don't get closer."
"But-" Tears ran down his face as Pokemon Officers blocked off the scene, others looking for the attacker. "But-"
"We'll take it from here." The Pokemon then called out to someone, trying to get assistance in taking care of the Human. Lunick trembled before soft paws rubbed his back.
"Shh... it's ok." He trembled as he was pulled from the strong grip and into a calm hug. Everything spun as he was calmed down.
~
Returning to the cells wasn't fun. Especially since his fear had skyrocketed. So anyone who went near him got only spooked reactions.
"How much for the blue haired shaker?" He trembled at the voice that appeared days later.
"We're forced to charge a hefty price due to what happened to his last master."
"Does it look like I give a damn? Name your price."
Just upon seeing his face got further trembles. He whimpered, trying to get away. The Houndoom scanned him as he shrank into the corner.
"Just who I'm looking for. I'll pay extra if it means I can take him home now."
"By all means." Lunick froze, quickly getting pulled out by the sinister Pokemon.
~
Lunick held his head down, straining his neck to look at the ground. He didn't want to be here, but they gave little choice. He stayed completely silent as the other Humans, who were shivering from the lack of clothing they had, silently rested in cells around him. Everything hurt as noises escaped from upstairs.
Meanwhile, a Grovyle stared down the Houndoom as a female stood quietly behind him.
"I repeat. Let me see them or else I will involve the officials."
"Bring them. I'm not afraid."
"So be it."
~
Lunick kept his head down as someone approached the cell. His head spun before a soft voice filled the air.
"I can't get into this cell."
"Check the others while I get a key."
"Yes sir."
Lunick didn't move for a bit before the door opened and two people went over. One knelt down before humming.
"Oh dear... we need to move him. Stay here while I inform the officers."
"Yes sir."
~
Lunick hadn't moved from his position. Location, maybe, but his head was still held down as the Grovyle entered. A sweet smell filled his nose as he looked up.
"Lift your head. You have no reason to hold it down anymore." With a moment of hesitation, he lifted his head, eyeing the food that was being offered. "Go ahead and eat. No one is stopping you here." He hesitated again before taking the food. Slowly, he ate up, gently taking in the warmth from it. He smiled before pain swept through him, both physically and mentally. "Here..." A small bedding that looked rather comfortable was placed down, gaining his attention. "You need to rest. You have been hurt too much." He blinked before a female voice spoke.
"Here." A small teddy bear was placed down with a pillow and a blanket. Gently, he crawled over and gripped the blanket, gaining a familiar feel. Grovyle smiled as he paused at the feeling.
"We got that from your first master's mother. She said you liked the blanket and wanted you to have it." Tears formed as he got curled up in the blanket, trembling from the memory. The female rubbed his back, gently relaxing his nerves as the Grass Type purred.
The duo left the bluenette to rest before going over to the Cinccino that was at the desk of the place.
"So? Is it safe to transfer him or should we keep him here?"
"The only way someone will be able to move him is if another Human steps in and guides him." She nodded. "But he should start getting better. We'll see."
~
A female Human entered the following week after Lunick was checked, though he slept through most of it. The Grovyle paused.
"But... it's unsafe for him to move still..."
"I understand. And so does my master. But we have someone who says the best way for him to recover is to get outside. My master can accommodate him." They looked at each other before she continued. "My master belongs to the Overlords. So surely it wouldn't hurt to try?" Grovyle sighed.
"Regardless of which overlord, I'm sure you're in contact with Bellossom." He handed her a file. "That's everything. Do take care of him."
"Of course."
~
Lunick hugged the blanket close as they exited the train. Everything spun as he steadied himself. He then lifted his head before looking up at the sky. His eyes flashed as he took steady breaths. Then the female's voice filled his ears.
"Lunick?" His eyes followed the voice before she smiled. "Our ride's here." He blinked as he went over to a cart. A male was stretching in front as he smiled at them.
"Hi!" Lunick nodded to him before the female helped him onto the cart. "Next stop! Raijin Ranch!"
~
Upon approaching the front house, the female covered Lunick's ears. He almost didn't understand until he heard something go off. The male seemed to pick up speed as they quickly got to the house and the duo got off. As the male left for something, the female led him inside to a sitting room.
"The Master will be here shortly. Please wait patiently."
He nodded as he sat down, cuddling up to the blanket for comfort. A loud sound filled the air as he wrapped himself in the blanket, hiding for safety.
~
He was gently shaken awake, unknowing that he had been asleep. He moved the blanket as a hum followed.
"Good morning." Cautiously, he sat up, registering a small pokemon in the room. He blinked twice as the voice continued. "Ah good. You seemed pretty peaceful, which is good. You look relaxed." He nodded tiredly as something was placed down on the table near them. A soft noise followed before the voice continued. "I summoned you here for a simple question. If you don't mind." He hummed softly as the Pokemon got up on the table to stand at his eye level. The question made him look up.
"Would you like to join the Raijin Family's servants?"
