Shivaay was just over twenty years when he initially and willingly talked to Annika, his childhood best friend Siddharth's younger sister. Not that he had never spoken or watched her growing, but it was always an exchange of pleasantries nothing more.

He was in his third year of integrated bachelor's business administration along with LLB. His parents were not much keen on the law field however he persuaded them with his refinement and comforting say. He was an exceptionally introverted person who struggled to maintain a conversation going. Sometimes he just watched out for his business giving zero interest in the surroundings. Nevertheless his 'shy away' personality was never a road blocker in his friendship with Siddharth Sahu. He was was similar to Sid expect his introverted nature, whereas Sid got along with almost everyone in the room. Well, this remained for a short duration since Sid moved to another university aiming to get a degree in business management, he was supposed to look after their family business.

It was the end of the semester, and Shivaay was in the library looking after a book called, Constitutional law of India by Durga Das Basu. It wasn't linked to the exams however he wanted to liberate his stressed mind.

The book seemed interesting.

"Heya!" He swirled around to his right and found Annika Sahu. She had cute less than shoulder length hair along with her straight bangs falling on her forehead.

"Okay. Didn't you get selected by NLC Nagpur?" He asked keeping his book aside. "That's what Sid told me." He murmured.

"I gotta say this-" she adjusted her chair to face him and pushed all his books away. "I did get there but then, you were here so I had to come up with something right? So-" She cheekily smiled supporting her head between her palms and her elbows on her thighs.

"Are you flirting?" He raised his brows. As a response, she stretched her lips and bobbed in negative.

"No, I didn't. You were familiar and I found myself safe you with." Involuntarily his lips tugged upwards and his heart thumped faster than normal.

She found safe with him.

"Also this is a comfortably shorter distance." She added.

A pretty lie. It won't be counted right? Annika thought as a reflex as he removed his vintage styled spectacles and looked straight into her eyes.
