stumble

chapter fifty-three ;; stumble
third person
°..:*°

"You're engaged?" Seokjin bluntly asks.

"It's really only a promise ring, but...basically yeah, I guess." Jeongguk quietly speaks with a known blush creeping across his cheeks and nose, more than likely reaching ears.

Seokjin couldn't help but smile a proud, genuine smile. Eyes turned to somewhat crescents, not nearly as much as Jimin's, and bright teeth showed. His newly blonde hair swayed around slightly while letting out a soft laugh, feeling Namjoon's hand pressing into the small of his back, "These guys are getting engaged before us, what a shame." Seokjin comments, looking up at Namjoon, who was only shaking his head with a light smile.

"Hey, it's a promise ring just like yours."

"Oh, speaking of ring!'" Seokjin shouts from across the table, taking all fourteen of them off guard at the sudden outburst, "Let me see it!" The eldest boy practically squeals. Jeongguk slowly put up his hand, showcasing the golden band, swirls and such wrapping around the whole thing. It seemed as if everyone in the cafeteria was staring over at that moment, "It's so pretty." Seokjin beams.

"I know, I have great taste." Taehyung chuckles, placing a quick kiss onto Jeongguk's cheek, which was warm.

"No, I have great taste." Jeongguk retorts, "You only got gold because it's one of my favorite colors."

"Yeah but I paid extra to have the pretty stuff on it." He pouts, earning a soft kiss on the lips.

"Fine then, thank you for having a good taste in rings." Jeongguk playfully says, making Taehyung laugh, before they both share another sweet kiss.

"My lord, stop with all the kissing." One of the boys- Bambam? Jeongguk thinks that's his name -scolds, crossing his arms over his chest and looking away.

"You're just mad Jackson's taking Mark to prom and not you." Yugyeom responds with an annoyed and somewhat hurt tone.

"He sounds like an absolute baby." Jinyoung complains, causing the Bambam to roll his brown eyes and quickly brush his fingers through his orange hair.

"It's not my fault Jackson led me on like a complete asshole." The young one mumbles.

The raven haired boy frowned over at the new people, feeling bad there was so much drama going on and completely understanding what depressed state they must be under, yet Jeongguk couldn't help but be grateful all of the drama in his group was over with for a long, long while.

"I'm sure there're many people here that'd love to go to prom with you." Jeongguk quietly says towards Bambam, still shy.

"Like who?" BamBam sadly tests, "Youngjae, Hoseok, Jaebum and Jinyoung are going in some kind of foursome gang, Jackson and Mark are going, and Yugyeom's not interested at all." He loudly says, rather aggressively tearing apart a piece of bread in the process, but he didn't look over in time to see Yugyeom's own sad expression.

Jeongguk smiles slightly, earning a slight squeeze to the hand from Taehyung, "Maybe you should look again?"

"So," Jimin begins once Bambam goes back to more pitiful sulking, leaning over the table to talk to Taehyung better, "have you already asked Guk to go to prom with you?" The orange haired boy asks, already going to prom with Yoongi.

"He doesn't really have to ask." Jeongguk laughs, looking over at the green haired male, "We're practically engaged, so it's kind of set, is it not?" He asks, gaze returning to orange hair, "Tae doesn't have to do anything."

Jimin frowns slightly and Yoongi speaks, "That's just flat out lazy." Mint tsks, pushing his thick glasses further up.

"Of course you would know." Hoseok laughs, receiving a grimace from Yoongi, "I will never stop holding a grudge against you for when Namjoon was about to beat the shit out me and you wouldn't help." The male is only hit by a flying grape hurled over with a spoon and a pissed off Yoongi.

"Well, I want us to all have matching suits for prom." Seokjin speaks up with excitement, "Maroon suits for each and every one of us."

"I think Jeongguk would much rather enjoy wearing a skirt." Taehyung lowly whispers, but only the pale one next to him could hear. Goosebumps erupted over his skin upon feeling the warmth breath traveling across a sensitive neck. It amazes Jeongguk, how easily an absolutely insane person like his 'fiancé' could make him feel such a way so quickly.

"Tae." Jeongguk lightly whines in embarrassment, unhappy with the current problem.

Taehyung only laughs, removing his hand from Jeongguk's small thigh and instead running his coarse fingers through soft, black hair, "Sorry." He mumbles, feeling somewhat bad.

Yoongi raised an unamused brow at the two, surprised he was the only one to see the current scene playing out, "Children." He shakes his head, going back to eating and feeding Jimin a grape every now and then when the younger would beg for one.

"I- I like the idea of maroon suits." Jeongguk stutters, and Taehyung has to use all of his will not to laugh.

"It clashes with my hair color." Jimin pouts, reaching up to twist some of his orange. Yoongi leans over after the complaint, whispering something into the younger's ear and causing his whole face to turn completely red. It seemed to run in the family. The Min and Kim brothers knew how to make their boyfriend's easily flustered without any doubt of mind. A skill like that seemed to be effortless for them, "M-Maroon suits a-are fine."

"Good, because we already bought them." Namjoon tells us, causing all of us to gawk at the couple.

"Well, then what if we had said no?" Taehyung complains.

"We would've forced you into the damn things, but be glad, we paid for them." Seokjin firmly says.

Jeongguk rolls his eyes, "Like Taehyung and Yoongi have trouble with money."

The lunch bell loudly rang, announcing it was time to leave the cafeteria and go back to their regular classes. All of them groaned at the sound, not wanting to leave and go back to learning once again. Jeongguk and Taehyung sighed together, not wanting to leave each other until finally meeting again in their last class period.

Both standing up, Jeongguk wobbles, as if his knees are about to give. His hand harshly reaches up to clap onto Taehyung's shoulder for support, and his vision goes out for a couple of seconds before returning. Jeongguk's whole body feels as though it's up in flames again. He blinks rather furiously to gain any sense of understanding. Taehyung put out his arms in order to catch the younger if he fell, but Jeongguk was able to stand and become balanced again.

"I-I'm fine, just a little...light headed?" The voice came out in stutters and faint, almost inaudible. Everyone had slowly stopped in their tracks at Jeongguk's questionable state, all of their hearts beating fast in unsure anxiety. A small pale hand went up to clutch a sweaty forehead, not understanding what was occurring one bit.

"Okay..." Taehyung says in absolute uncertainty, standing closer to Jeongguk, as they both begin to gradually walk again, "I'm taking you to your class. I don't care if I'm la- Jeongguk?!" Taehyung shouts aloud, whole body almost shutting down.

The fragile and pale boy stumbled forward once again, this time falling completely. Tanned skin had just enough time to grab ahold onto his small figure before hitting the hard ground. Everyone in the cafeteria looked over quickly at the recent uproar, all of them slowly freezing at once realizing the situation. They stare, not knowing whether to go over and help or stay still. Even the few teachers watching around were shocked, practically frozen and nonmoving. Taehyung has never clutched onto someone so tightly.

"Fuck, is he okay?" Yoongi urgently speaks, falling to his knees next to Taehyung, as Jimin was stunned, with a heaving chest.

"Baby," Taehyung whispers, holding onto Jeongguk's cheek, which was too hot to even grab. His whole body was radiating heat beyond being comfortable- pulsing, "come on, Guk, wake up." Tears were threatening to fall, but oh god no, he wouldn't allow them to, "He's not responding. He's not fucking responding!" Taehyung screeches, voice erupting, bouncing off of the large walls. His voice sounded absolutely terrified, like a young child having their first night terror. This was Taehyung's biggest night terror, after all, "Yoongi, Yoongi, what do I do?! He's not waking up! Why won't he wake up?! I'm so scared, please!"

"Tae- Taehyung, calm down." Yoongi slowly speaks, turning his head around to, "Someone call 911." Seokjin was the first to be on it, others finally crowding around and watching with fearful eyes.

Teachers had begun to finally speed walk over to the scene playing out, eyes full of worry and not quite knowing what to do. They'd been told that something like this may happen but they never expected it. A teacher without a known name crouched down next to the now hysterical Taehyung, who was mumbling terrified and incoherent words.

"Honey, you're gonna have to let him go so we can take Jeongguk to the nurse." She calmly speaks, placing a hand onto Taehyung's wide shoulder.

"No," Taehyung hisses, "I'm not leaving hi side." His chest was quivering, looking down at the younger, who's head was slowly beginning to move around with consciousness.

"Come on, Taehyung." Yoongi begins, trying to sound as soothing as possible, "You know it's to help him. They're not trying to take him away from you."

Taehyung sniffs and tries to hold back an ugly sigh. Now using both arms, he easily lifts the boy in his arms up, and with somewhat wobbling legs, Taehyung held him oh so closely, letting the warm and barely conscious face fall in his neck and stay there, not really caring about how uncomfortable it was, "I'm carrying him there." He coldly announces, beginning to walk with the teacher at his side, "You guys stay here." Taehyung turns his head and speaks once his close friends had begun to slowly follow behind, "I'll call you when we get to the hospital, and you can come to meet me there."

They nod, staying completely silent. Jimin was clutching onto Yoongi, as Seokjin was clutching onto Namjoon. Everyone else were told to disperse with the flick of a hand from the teachers, shooing them off to their next class. All of them were talking in whispers, exchanging quick words. No one would be a virgin from hearing about what happened in the cafeteria by the end of the day.
