love bites
chapter thirty-one ;; love bites
jeongguk's perspective

I woke up the next morning, wrapped up in the comfy bedsheets that were a tangled mess, and my neck felt sore against the mangled pillow. Taehyung was nowhere to be seen when I finally and fully awoke, lazily sitting up and stretching out only to feel a chill around my bare torso. It then hit me. Today was Monday, Monday means school, and school was starting in fifteen minutes.
A squeal sounds as a sudden rush of energy builds up and breaks through my capillaries, making me stand up and rush into the bathroom to brush my teeth before getting dressed. There was no time for luxurious and fluffy pancakes made my Taehyung's maid this morning, but I'm not very hungry anyways. There was a resonating feeling of hands clasping my waist, but there was no one there to hold me. It was my mind sending a vibrant reminder of what occurred last night. To most, it would be such a boring thing to think so much over, but it was the first time I'd ever done such a thing.
I discovered Taehyung in the bathroom, mindlessly brushing his teeth while humming. There was a devilish grin on his face upon my entering, eyes brightening while mine turned into wide doe ones. A reason for him to look at me in such a way was unknown. Until I looked at myself in the mirror. It came as a shock, catching me off guard in a mesmerizing way. Even if I had to, there wouldn't be any desire for me to cover up what it was.
Purple marks littered my skin, creating a beautiful sight of bright purple intertwined with yellow upon pale white. It looked like a masterpiece, eyes somehow widening even more as my dainty fingers lifted up to ghost across the marks that were a pretty sight yet extremely painful to push down on. What really drew me into it all was a distinct shape made out of the purple and pinks, a heart of love bites formed onto my collarbone. From remembrance, his pattern of biting had seemed weird, but now I finally understood why Taehyung did what he did.
"Sorry, I got a little carried away." The beautiful boy with messy bed hair speaks after spitting out the foamy toothpaste.
"I-It's fine." I whisper as a response, voice still croaky from recently waking, "I...I like it." My fingers finally leave my neck, instead being occupied from grabbing a toothbrush and toothpaste.
"Really?" Taehyung sends me a sideways glance once I begin to brush. A minty foam fills my mouth and I nod to his surprisal, "I thought that you'd dislike me marking you so harshly."
A nod shows from me, "It looks pretty." My voice was muffled and was hard to understand, but Taehyung understood what I was saying.
"A pretty marking for a pretty person." He jokingly coos, earning a large eye roll, "I felt like it was necessary to mark what's mine. No grabs for anyone else who wants it." It gave a me sense of belonging, a sense of desire. The fact Taehyung finds it necessary to mark me in a way to shield off made others made me warm inside. A blanket of wanting wraps around me just like the arms of the one who made my neck purple do. Soft lips meet the sore skin, planting down many sweet pecks.
"Tae, we still have to go to school."
He hums against my neck, "No we don't, who cares if we miss one day?" I sigh with his words, putting my toothbrush up and loosely resting my arms with Taehyung's and letting my head fall back into his shoulder. With eyes closed and all sounds silenced, light breathing falls through the large bathroom along with a sway of two bodies, "You do realize that you're extremely amazing?"
"Mmm." My eyes remain closed, no need for opening them.
"I never knew how nice your neck and thighs would be, how nice you'd sound." He continues, speaking into the sensitive skin and lightly biting down, causing a soft sound to emit past my lips without any control. A barrier seemed to have been broken last night, a barrier to keep certain things from being said. Before yesterday, Taehyung wouldn't of had dared to speak these things, but now it was completely tame in a sense, "We need to cover up those bites, though."
"I don't want to. They look too nice." He chuckles, letting go of my waist.
"Fine but I'm going to get dressed now since we're going to school." Taehyung turns and reveals his bare back which used to have faint marks of pink from my own fingernails.
I'd been completely tired after what had happened, practically passing out and feeling too weak for my own good. My body still felt heavy and tired, but I knew that going to school was the only true option. Red dots continue to show across my arm in random places, just like they had the night I first said yes to trying something with Taehyung.

They were on show, and people were noticing. Everyone instantly assumed Taehyung was the cause as we'd been extremely close, which was a correct hypothesis. Taehyung was unbelievably protective, wrapping his arm around my shoulders and drawing me closer whenever necessary. The kisses on the forehead were passive, even though some were held clear in the middle of the hallway. Taehyung treated me like a trophy, and I quickly realized praising was his forte.
"Jeon Jeongguk!" A familiar and motherly voice calls from across the lunch room, waving his hands around with a bright smile. I'd been the last one to enter, too busy being asked questions by quite a few girls. I didn't dare to give any straight forward ones, "It's like you're all grown up." Seokjin coos upon my seat taking next to Taehyung who instead drew me into his lap.
"You two really aren't concealing it, are you?" Hoseok says and Namjoon and him laugh together while Seokjin only shakes his head.
"Stop messing with them. I think it's cute." An adrenaline inducing voice sounds from an orange haired boy.
"J-Jim-"
"Yoongi invited me over. Don't worry, I've been taking my medicine, and I'm completely over whatever I was." He calmly and quickly explains, keeping eye contact the whole time to prove what he's speaking is true. It was uplifting for a hopeful and new beginning between the two of us. An odd stare from Hoseok doesn't come unnoticed, and things slowly start to click.
"Oh...okay." It came out extremely quiet and unsure, voice betraying my feelings. Taehyung's loose grip firmed a bit for reassurance, a loving feeling consuming my every pore as his fingers begin to draw circles onto my upper thighs.
"Oh dear." Hoseok suddenly says, eyes wide and staring straight at me, or should I say my neck, "Is that what I think it is?"
"Surprised that it took them this long to notice." Taehyung whispers into my ear before lightly chuckling.
"Eugh, I saw it this morning." Yoongi groans, although he's in a much better mood now.
I let out a light sigh before hooking my index finger around the collar of my shirt and tugging down. Thankfully, our table was in the corner, and there is no need for hiding so much. The heart had turned a rosy and red pink with little hints of purple. It was already beginning to heal as the cells making up capillaries were going through mitosis, which saddened me. In all honesty, I'd probably get this tattooed on myself if it weren't such a vulgar tattoo idea that could turn into a regret more so than a thing to happily share.
"Jesus..." They all say in unison, all but Taehyung, who was almost hiding his face in the back of my neck.
I let go of the stretchy material, allowing the fabric to bounce back up and conceal the red and pink the best it could. For a moment, I had begun to regret not putting makeup over it but was slowly beginning to fade once seeing the look of amazement on everyone's faces.
"Why don't you do that to me?" Seokjin suddenly complains, smacking Namjoon's arm in the process.
Namjoon only hisses as the loud slap sounds, "If it'll make you stop complaining."
"Oh, please." Seokjin rolls his eyes but then lightly smiles over at his boyfriend before picking up a strawberry and happily eating it.
Everything was serene, too serene, and I felt my smile slowly fall from my face. With every good comes a bad, and this was far too good to not have a terrifying end. It slowly became a thunderstorm with hidden tears for rain. The grip around me tightened ever so slightly and lips moved on the back of my neck, sending trembles through me while whispered words were shared.
"It's okay." He whispers, grabbing my shaking and dainty hands that were under the table, "You're okay. We're okay. There's nothing to worry about, baby boy." Taehyung had only used that name last night, and now it was bringing back memories like the seashore, "I'm here. We're all here, don't fret. No one's looking at us. You're doing good." I slowly nod my head, letting out a shaky breath with the movement of Taehyung's coarse thumbs against the backs of my hands, "I hate seeing you like this. Please, talk to me once we get home." Home: he already talked of his house like it was ours, and it gave me a sense of belonging.
"O-Okay." My diaphragm began to slow on lifting and falling, heart going back to a normal pace and lungs exhaling and inhaling properly. Once again, he rested is head onto the nape of my neck and let out a soft sigh.
"I really like you." He whispers as I watch everyone else happily talking.
"I know you do." Taehyung went deadly silent.
